Pros

\[sensitive content hidden\] is very helpful in solving complex requests. The last time I registered a trouble ticket, the person was also helpful.

Cons

Credit card software (Foundation Pay) is not available as stand alone product with our existing credit card. This is very disappointing as it could be helpful.

Very good service. Helps us ensure that all taxes are paid and filed accurately along with payroll. It is hard that we do not have one point of contact. I would recommend this service.

Pros

Ease of use, banking and money management. We are still able to have control over timecards and job costing but have an outsourced payroll expert to help us along the way.

Cons

Customer support. Getting one consistent person who understands the account and the ins and outs of the account is difficult. We always get the answers we need but sometimes have to be very persistent.

Overall we are impressed with what Foundation can do for us. We have a training set up in December where they are coming to us to provide some more insightful trainings.

Pros

We are exploring and learning that there is a package we can possibly switch to foundation for the laborers in the field to enter their time for payroll, instead of using another program.

Cons

Customer Support is slow to respond most times. We also experience a lot of dropping of service while using the program, and getting logged out and having to go through the process again to log in, and hope what we were doing is saved. Also issues with check printing.

### "Gets the job done, but needs an modern update"

Foundation Software appears to be a stable and reliable system with a solid foundation (no pun intended) for handling construction-specific accounting and job costing and payroll needs. However, the overall interface and user experience feel quite dated. The system is not web-based, which significantly limits its accessibility and flexibility—particularly for remote users or teams needing real-time collaboration. One of the most noticeable drawbacks is the number of steps required to complete even routine tasks. Processes often feel overly complicated and time-consuming, which can reduce efficiency and lead to frustration for users. While the core functionality is there, modern expectations for ease of use and streamlined workflows are not met. In short, Foundation gets the job done, but it’s in need of modernization to keep up with today’s web-based, user-friendly platforms.

Pros

Once I knew the process, it really never changes. It is stable and reliable. I complete payroll with the system and it works ok.

Cons

There are so many steps for some processes. Also, the software seems to be very archaic, it would be so nice if it was web-based.

My over all experience has been great. They are always there to help fix any problems. They call you back in a timely matter

Pros

I like that it does everything from accounting to project managing. The reports are great too. We have to do all these monthly & weekly report for construction projects and it is just a push of a button.

Cons

We love everything about Foundations the only thing I wish it interfaced with Textura billing platform for invoicing so I don't have to put in Textura and Foundation

The software does virtually everything we need as a construction company. And the help team is great

Pros

It handles our construction-specific cost tracking with ease. And the employee access App for check stubs is a huge benefit.

Cons

We struggle to pick from the correct SQL table when building our own query tools. The data is there-which we love. But finding it is a challenge.

### "How I feel about Foundation"

So far, I have found it to be very frustrating. I know that the CPA’s secretaries people in the office. They love it but us out in the field. It’s a hassle.

Pros

Well, this is a tough one for me. The foundation that our company uses is pretty much strictly for the office people. The CPA is the secretaries the Bean counters.

Cons

I don’t like the fact that everything is on a separate page when I fill out timesheets equipment, notes, employee time superintendent time everything is on a different page

It's been good. It's definitely not like QuickBooks where I can literally do anything to an invoice at any time. Not saying that's a bad thing.

Pros

Customer support is very knowledgeable. Job costing allows you to do a lot as far as customization to the different jobs and how it can effect the payroll sides of things.

Cons

While customer support is very knowledgeable I'm not a fan of the call backs. There have been countless times where they have called back and I simply don't pickup the phone because I'm in the middle of something. I'd rather wait on hold for 5 minutes than get a call back.

Pros

It is very user friendly. And it gives me all of the information I need. IT is also easy to have all of your documents together

Cons

Sometimes It is hard to get reports written for things you need. I don't have a lot of complains about the product.

For me, it was a learning curve, and I feel like I am learning something new about the systems every day, as it offers a lot for your money.

Pros

I love customer support and can't live without their knowledgeable folks! They are always ready to help! Foundation was new to me, so I utilized the support a lot, and I was never disappointed.

Cons

It is not as intuitive as other systems, but on the other hand, it's way more robust and can offer much more.

New user and have only been using for 2 months so I am learning a lot. All though I have picked up a lot quickly.

Pros

The ability to send things to the people who need to approve invoices, etc. . This has sped up this process.

Cons

The inability to search for things like amounts, invoice numbers, etc.. Sometimes we don't have the full information to find things and the ability to search broadly would be great!

I would recommend new/old construction companies to use Foundation since it has several benefits.

Pros

It has everything that a construction business would need to use for Accounting, Operations, Payroll, Estimating, Scheduling, Costing, etc. Foundation has been very smooth when we transitioned from our old software.

Cons

There are times where Foundation would shut down/turn off randomly. In addition, there are frequent times when we would need customer service help, but we would get a call back after 2-3 days which interrupts our operations.

Wonderful. They are always so quick to get back to me when I reach out for help. And they are always SO patient with me and never give up. Most of the time it's something they know right away and are able to help. But, even when it's something a little more time consuming, they stick with me and are dedicated to figuring out how to solve the problem and always have until I am able to get what I need. I love the capability to be able to create things how we want them. The genies are awesome in customizing everything almost any way we want it.

Pros

I like how easy it is to get support when needed. They always call me back so quicl when I put a call in, and they have always been able to answer all my questions. Not once, have they not been able to help me with whatever I may need, and I call very often being that I work in payroll and there's so many different functions.

Cons

To be honest, I really don't have any complaints. Everything is pretty clear and there's options for anything I could ever think of. I can run one report, a million different ways.

My past experience has been with ComputerEase so learning Foundation was a little bit of a curve for me. However, the ease of using the software was a great surprise. The support for Foundation is far above that of ComputerEase.

Pros

The AP & AR modules are very user friendly. Was able to adapt easily. The ease in running a check run for multiple vendors is great.

Cons

Needs more shortcuts in the AP data entry module. Report writing would also be an added benefit. There are some reports needed that we have no way of producing.

Been using it for 16 years strong! No need to switch. We do payroll in-house and it works well with paying taxes and year-end.

Pros

It's intuitive and simple. Tracks well for AP, AR, and PR. Customer service is generally excellent. Pricing seems fair.

Cons

Some of the Job Cost reports are cumbersome or don't give drill down detail. Would like to see search on AR invoice amount.

I have used Foundation for almost 9 years and is by far the best accounting software out there! Thank you for providing Stryker and Company with "almost" perfection!

Pros

The Accounts Payable, and Payroll entries. They are both so user friendly and accurate! We are going to be using the new Positive Pay function, and we are so excited about this!!

Cons

Not able to Modify the Regular/Prepaid CC after you enter. If you could make it possible for us to go in and adjust this it would be wonderful!

We have used Foundation for about 20 years now and we still use the standard version and I still love it!

Pros

Ease of use, how you can enter once and it hits all the different modules. I also like your support. They are great to work with but sometimes they are so module oriented that they don't understand how it hits other modules.

Cons

How the system shuts down sometimes. There are also places where you go to the next screen and your cursor is not there. You then have to move your mouse to click into the box. Didn't use to be that way.

Overall, I am a bit overwhelmed by having to export reporting to excel to get the data needed. We would also like to have a way to integrate transactions from our bank real time.

Pros

I do like that I am able to pull videos to help with training. I also like that I can put in a service call ticket and have someone call me in a reasonable amount of time.

Cons

Reporting is extremely difficult to build. Also, there is no real automation for data entry to get real time data.

Pros

Easier to use than other software. Has many reports and abilities to electronically submit forms to IRS and Social Security Administration.

Cons

Don't have much experience to tell. I will be able to tell more after working here for at least one year.

Pros

I used foundation in assisting/ managing billing for my restoration construction projects. The software was very user friendly.

Cons

There were a very few times the system would crash causing difficulties and inconvenience (might have been an internal network problem).

### "Foundations may be right for you"

This is the first-time I have used it. It seems to work okay IF you have been trained on how to use it. It is a bit pokey and there are some things that just take too long to enter.

Pros

Easy to use. It does a lot of different things and captures important information. The layout overall is fine.

Cons

Not being able to cut and paste information. When writing PO# s, it would be helpful to have to write the same information over and over again.

Overall my experience has been great, minus my own learning curves. The software does everything we need from AP & AR, to payroll, change orders, estimating and more.

Pros

This system was very easy for me to learn and catch on to. It operates very similar to Sage which I have used in the past.

Cons

The reports/reporting functions still seem kind of "clunky" - I feel as though this would be a good point of focus for software improvements.
