Pros Of the 3 available fonts, 'handwritten' is my favorite. Otherwise, there's not much to like about this application. Cons Many things are not good. The selector tool is not intuitive and moving objects around is not as simple as it should be. Formatting options for fonts are extremely limited and sharing my whiteboard was problematic because the application hangs when I click the Share button. I can't even center text within a text box. Pros My project team often uses Microsoft Whiteboard whenever we are on MS Teams call with our clients or during Agile sprint retrospective meetings. It makes the discussion session really collaborative, creative and fun. Microsoft Whiteboard provides endless canvas where you can exchange your ideas using so many diagramming options like colored markers, pens, shapes, sticky notes, text, reaction emojis etc.If multiple team members are working on the same canvas at the same time, you can see their name tags along with their pointers, which makes it super easy to know who is sharing what information. However, if you want the team members to enter their comments/ideas anonymously, you can also control that (for example, during sprint retro calls).I really enjoy using Microsoft Whiteboard. In conclusion, it is an excellent program that, regardless of how you use it, will always be useful to you. Pros With virtual classes this tool has become indispensable, it is an interactive whiteboard, and it may sound very simple, but there is a lot of work on the proper functioning of this tool. Integration with the entire Office ecosystem is great, especially with Microsoft Teams. For collaborative work it's great, the whiteboard works fast, it has a lot of options to customize writing and many different users can write at the same time. Whiteboard is a tool that is here to stay because it is part of the present and future of virtual collaborative work. Yes, it's easy to create a new whiteboard; yes, you can even create a (long, ugly, hard-to-read) URL to share your whiteboard; and yes, you can even export your whiteboard as a PNG. But those aren't features--those are basic requirements--and Whiteboard barely manages to pull even those off. Pros The core features are competently executed--it's mind-numbingly easy to create a new whiteboard, and there is no confusion possible as to what the (very few) available tools in the toolbar do. Cons The list of missing features is extraordinarily long, so I'll focus on the most glaring omissions and limitations. The tool palette is quite limited; while at first glance it appears there are four different "pens," they are in fact just four copies of the same pen, all of which can be configured only minimally (width, from "1" to "6," and your choice of 15 colors). There is a highlighter tool which has similar configuration limitations and doesn't even include opacity adjustment. The eraser tool is overzealous; one errant click and giant portions of your diagram vanish. The text tool has one pre-set "handwriting" type font that I find to be practically illegible; this can't be changed. There is also a redundant "note" tool that mimics Post-It notes, but it is unclear what the purpose of these notes is intended to be, since there is no visibility control toggle, etc. The drawing experience is awful as well; the interface automatically attempts to "smooth" your drawings (you can't disable this either!), meaning that any fine details that you draw that Whiteboard interprets as errors are obliterated. Pros I have a brand new HP Spectre (1TB) that comes with a digital pen and MS Whiteboard came with the device. I'm pretty tech savvy and the interface is VERY simple (for me too simple) - so if you want it just for scribbling notes during a meeting or sketching out something to illustrate a thought, fine. It can do that. There are different basic colors, a rainbow color, and two pen tips, an eraser, basic shapes. You can invite others to collab on your board (but honestly it didn't make it that far for me due to performance issues). The lasso shape is useful to separate items layered on top as there doesn't seem to be a "layers" option. Cons Ah, mostly everything. This is not drawing software. This is literally a digital whiteboard, so I got frustrated quickly with it wishing it could do more. When trying to export as an image, it only allows .png and. svg, and neither format worked in any program after exporting. I'd have been fine with the simple tools, but then it started lagging. For every. single. edit. A quick search shows that this is common for the program when you are not plugged in, even if you are full battery. So it's basic, but also a power hog. It didn't improve after plugging in though. It got to the point where I had to completely shut down the program and reboot because it just kept freezing. Definitely being picky with the colors. Not much bad things to say about this. So check this out if your office engages in projects like this using a whiteboard! Pros This product is wickedly AMAZING. Being able to share your board in real time and have it update for the other employees as fast as it does is very impressive. The amount of functions it has is also very impressive. Cons Main complaint. Low choice for colors. Come on, its 2023 we should be able to select a color wheel or something to broaden the color choices for coloring and stuff.
