Overall experience is A+++. The weekly open tech support calls are a life saver with software that does so much and, when that just isn't quite enough, the staff are ALWAYS happy to help. I have never gotten support for any software at this high level.

Pros

Monkeypod is a very comprehensive application designed with non-profits in mind. It has enabled us to move away from many spreadsheets and log files, merging most everything into one inter-related software package. Now our finances are better controlled, grant funding is more efficient, and communications with clients, funders, supporters, and volunteers easy. And we are still learning what more the system can do.

Cons

Occasionally system improvements are integrated without notifying users. This causes a bit of confusion.

Easy to use and search for what you need. Just need to know where to look. Adding new resources is easy and we can limit what people can see and update. As the Treasurer I find it much easier to use than other products and I can add tags and notes to transactions.

Pros

I find it easy to use and as the Treasurer it does both the debit and credit side of a transaction so I only have to do one. Easy to search relationships and it identifies possible duplicates. We create email campaigns and use them throughout the year. Even our less techie people are able to use it.

Cons

I would like to be able to create custom reports and be able to reuse them. I would like to add an item dropdown in the search of financial records.

MonkeyPod has been great to use. They are easy to get ahold of for questions, the software is user friendly, and we are so glad we made the switch. As a small staff, and volunteer based organization, this software has made our lives much easier.

Pros

MonkeyPod is great because it combines our CRM, Financials, and Marketing into one easy platform. We no longer have to go searching for data and information over multiple log in screens, excel files and more.

Cons

At this time, we would love if MonkeyPod began partnering with the Point Volunteer App. MonkeyPod has partnered with many other platforms, and we believe this would be a wonderful partnership and allow us to combine one more platform to this system.

As a small NFP, MonkeyPod has helped us stabilize our financial resources, maximize our network and respond with alacrity and care for all our constituents. It has proven invaluable.

Pros

We find the integration of the CRM, Finances, fundraising, email and newsletter subscriptions as well as the automation throughout make MonkeyPod a standout. We easily switched from Quicken, Calendly, Active Campaign and several apps into one seamless integration. We easily connect with our donors and are super grateful to MonkeyPod!

Cons

The Bookkeeping has been slightly less intuitive than I had hoped and still requires some manual attention each month. We have international accounts and complex invoicing which is now largely automated thanks to MonkeyPod.

Overall, MonkeyPod has provided a non-profit oriented all-in-one program that we have been able to use to get our data and several apps in one place! The staff are helpful and providing support and suggestions on how to best use the product.

Pros

MonkeyPod is customizable, which I really like. Also, if I can't figure out how to do something, the staff have been open to providing answers and helpful suggestions for me quickly. They want our experience to be positive and useful, so, I have found them to be responsive, friendly, and very helpful!

Cons

Getting transitioned into the software from our old software was time-consuming and kind of a pain. I expect that would be the case with any transition like this.

### "A good entry-level product"

Pros

MonkeyPod is a great tool for our nonprofit accounting. It helps us integrate donors with a CRM into accounting pretty seamlessly. Easy learning curve, easy to dive right in without training. We chose it because it integrates with Gusto, our payroll software.

Cons

There are some hiccups, small things but ones that make it a little more clunky than we'd hoped: for example, we can't use the invoicing feature as much as we'd hoped because of how it automatically codes payment (we'd like to use it as payment on a pledge, but it doesn't work like that). The reporting is also a little tricky -- reports aren't named what donors and board typically call them (P&L, etc.) and so I'm often looking up what MonkeyPod calls things. Also, the dashboard is less hopeful that I'd wanted - it doesn't really give me an accurate picture of money we can and can't spend

Since MonkeyPod is made exclusively for nonprofits, we always use the correct nonprofit terminology in our reports. For example, a Statement of Activities rather than a P&amp;L or Income Statement, which is what for-profit organizations produce. We also recently made some improvements to make collecting pledge payments easier. You can download PDFs to send to donors as well as send electronic payment links via email with customized messages. When your donor makes a pledge payment, that payment will automatically update in your books, budget, and CRM. We'll keep working to make improvements and we appreciate your feedback!

Easy to use and unparalleled value for the cost. Takes some learning, but has robust support and a helpful community. The consolidation from umpteen paid services to just one has not only saved money, but simplified workflows.

Cons

Because MonkeyPod wears so many hats, specialization in some fields can be limited, but a hidden benefit of MP is that it's always in development and looking for ways to improve. Over the course of several years of use I have had the opportunity to appreciate several major software upgrades.

Fantastic! MonkeyPod offers great services (email, donor management, etc.) at a reasonable rate. Plus, the staff seem very invested in our success with the platform and as an organization raising funds.

Pros

Responsive staff - they are quick to assist. We migrated from another system and it was flawless. Pricing is reasonable, too - we are saving a considerable amount over what we paid in prior years. We are using the email feature and have found it to be easy to navigate. Searching for donors is simple and they were categorized appropriately when the database was moved over to MonkeyPod.

Cons

Because we send regular USPS mail, we need donors mailing address. The system for people to sign up for email newsletters doesn't capture the USPS address. Unless there is a setting for that and we haven't yet found it...

### "Happy Customer"

MonkeyPod customer and technical service is fantastic. We have needed to reach out periodically for tech support and billing support. The responses are always quick, friendly, and on point.

Pros

We are a small nonprofit mental health research organization that has used MonkeyPod for at least 5 years. We use it for donor management, CRM, email marketing, educational newsletters, and our financial records. The integration is seamless. This is essential, as we have limited staffing and do not want to be burdened with multiple exports and imports. Initially we used the Gusto payroll integration function, which worked beautifully. We have discontinued this since reconfiguring out compensation structure.

Cons

Our only "con," turned out to be a "pro" in disguise. As our revenue dropped we found it difficult to sustain the subscription cost; however, a quick chat with the billing team resulted in a creative solution that reduced our costs, yielded a credit, and allowed us to maintain the business relationship.

Great! Again, readily available and always making improvements and educating the user.

Pros

They were so helpful and patient in getting me started. When I had a question or was lost they were very responsive in helping and getting me pointed in the right direction.

Cons

I really had to get to know the nomenclature, but that was really on me. Also, I have 9 years of data I wanted to keep on the books. I could have archived many of those years but I chose to enter them in manually, which was good for me because I really did learn the "books".

Cost of the product, which made it feasible for a small non-profit. Also, the \[sensitive content hidden\] spent and hour zoom with me and my wife answering our questions

Fantastic. We do so much more than we ever could before because of what Monkeypod offers

Pros

It's built with nonprofits in mind so it has everything they need. It's a one-stop shop that replaces multiple other software systems and integrates with even more. It's customizable to suit anyone's needs and the customer service is incredibly reponsive.

Cons

Could use a report builder. Some small things come up here and there that could be improved. Not saving new contact info when someone donates who is already in the CRM is a drawback.

Overall, we've already seen amazing benefits with using MonkeyPod, including, but not limited to: streamlined workflow (pipelines, etc.), up-to-date data relative to our organization's processes, access to an overview of people & how they're involved in our organization & how they've engaged with us (roles, interactions, and history), and ease of access to a central "database" that our organization's staff need to access data, and much more!

Pros

What I like most about MonkeyPod is that they are accommodating & understanding of nonprofits, the work they do, and the features that best support their work. Because of that, they provide affordable solutions and have been extremely receptive to user feedback where they've adapted and added features! Some features we appreciate tremendously is the bcc customized for the organization where you can use the custom bcc email to send to your organization's MonkeyPod database that will log an interaction and create/update that person's record accordingly. Another feature we love is the ability to household & connect records, use an advanced search to create & save "lists" of records based on custom attributes, tags (unlimited reasons for how helpful this feature is!), and so much more! Since we've been using the platform, we've been reaching out for assistance & they've implemented solutions and/or addressed our concerns in the most professional & timely way possible! We love how engaged & involved they are in their clients' relationship with them!

Cons

There are features we'd still like to see added and enhanced, such as custom API integrations, however, because of their willingness to accommodate clients' needs by implementing features and/or providing alternate solutions... we are willing to wait for those features or find internal workarounds due to all the features currently available that maximize our efforts & provide impactful solutions for all our other needs!

### "Small but mighty system"

My organization previously had many different excel spreadsheets, and as we grew it became more challenging to keep track of all of our information appropriately. We wanted one system that could be used for member and donor management, that includes event processing, fundraising, budgeting, and email marketing, and monkeypod is that system. It connects directly to our bank account (in a read only capacity) to make sure that our budget stays on track, and you can make notes to yourself within the system and add reminders about follow up tasks. You can keep track of custom characteristics, like who won't attend programs, but really likes getting emails, or who is not looking to date but wants to come to classes.

Pros

I love that I am able to keep track of members and donors in one place, and when anyone pays for anything, it automatically goes into the system. Expenses can be tagged so that you can see exactly how much has come in versus gone out for a specific event/item/project. I also love that Monkeypod works to grow its options and partnerships with other useful companies to make life easier.

Cons

It would be helpful to have a phone option for customer support, instead of having to send 47 emails to work through a situation. I also sometimes find it challenging when sending emails to have different email lists of almost but not quite exactly the same people and have to recreate them often when our people don't rsvp through the proper pages.

Pros

I love being able to search through a complete database of all our clients and constituents. Never having any kind of CRM for our organization before this has been a large improvement. I also love that it's a small company with staff based in Hawai'i. They are very responsive, supportive and quick to adapt and improve their features.

Cons

I haven't really encountered many issues yet that haven't been solved! Maybe not being to see at a glance who has received a donation receipt (it's automatic if they donate online, but for mailed checks and other donations it needs to be entered manually...)

We needed to streamline our costs as well as the number of different systems/software we were using to do things like track donors, manage grants, and collect donations. This was an all-in-one solution that really met our needs

Pros

What I love about monkeypod is the responsiveness of the support team. While every database has its limitations, Monkeypod is a rare company that will respond to user needs and requests in a timely manner. I really feel we have a partner in database management!

Cons

I wish that the searching and reporting functions were a bit more sophisticated.

As someone with ZERO nonprofit background before my previous role, I would rate my MonkeyPod experience a 10/10. Between the great support team, easy email management, donor management, and everything else in between MonkeyPod is definitely a great tool for my job!

Pros

I love how user friendly MonkeyPod is! It is easy to navigate and whenever I do have questions the MonkeyPod Support team is always so quick to respond and help! The page design is simple in the best ways and for the price, this is a 10/10.

Cons

There is a slight learning curve, but honestly once you get past that I have no complaints. Monkeypod's youtube channel covered a great amount and helped me understand how to use it before I even started, so the learning curve didn't last long!

### "One powerful system!"

The support has been outstanding. Whenever we reach out, we hear back within 24 hours. And it's great that we usually are dealing with the same people so they know our platform and our needs.

Pros

I like that it has multiple components that work together like accounting and CRM, eblast and event ticketing. Working in one system instead of several is wonderful.

Cons

We are still in the conversion / set up period so there is still a learning curve to go through and therefore it's hard to identify a real "con."

### "A Big Upgrade for a Smaller Non Profit"

Helpful onboarding and support, they're attentive and respond quickly to anything I've needed assistance with!

Pros

We love the ability to have a much more robust donor and client management system. Built in donation capabilities and email campaign software are huge bonuses to have included too. We're looking forward to exploring the accounting side in more depth soon.

Cons

We'd love to see more options to customize and build out the fundraising/donation pages. A tool to plan and manage in person fundraising event would be a great addition too (ticket sales, online auction, etc).

### "The Joys of an Integrated System"

I love MonkeyPod and I love the people behind it. It's a smart tool for small organizations and for arts administrators who are artists first and administrators second. In all of my interactions with the company, I have felt heard, understood, and supported. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Pros

I switched from a very basic accounting system, no CRM, and lots of spreadsheets to having an integrated system where I can track our balances, make budgets that update in real time, and search for anyone we have worked with over the years. I love the easy-to-use mailing lists and the infinite ways they can be segmented. I can stress enough how much time (an irritation) MonkeyPod has already saved me. Plus, the onboarding process was thorough, hugely helpful, and it was even FUN!

Cons

On my wish list would be easily customizable mailing list sign-up forms (right now, creating a sign-up form requires writing code, which I don't know how to do and don't want to learn), and more customizable fundraising pages (à la Donorbox) with payment forms that can be embedded on a website. I also hope we'll eventually be able to file 1099s directly from MonkeyPod.

### "Excellent Value for Accounting/CRM for NonProfit Management"

We are a volunteer-managed membership-based NPO whose leadership changes annually/semi-annually. MonkeyPod blends several autonomous management tools into one package that simplifies what were separate processes.

Pros

Ease of use, flexibility as we figured out how best to tweak it for our organization's needs (not squeezed into a cookie-cutter solution), easier transition from old system than we expected, support from the team for our needs and ideas

Cons

Most of what we would like to see added is already in their pipeline, so don't have anything to add here.

Reason for choosing MonkeyPod

It seemed to be the most flexible, had an attractive pricing structure, was designed specifically for non-profits, which makes it easier for volunteer management (many people in NPOs don't understand nonprofit account rules).

### "Best Customer Support!"

Pros

By far, the best feature of MonkeyPod is the incredible and personalized customer support. No CRM is perfect, and we all get frustrated, so having the support team that truly listens and actively helps you through any issue is golden! Monkeypod approaches data management and accounting software in a way that no other system does - with the nonprofit organization and arts administrators in mind. They created something that works with all the directions and nuances of my arts organization.

Cons

Any CRM transition is challenging, but Monkeypod held my hand and helped manage my expectations for the process. Understanding the set-up/transition timeline from the very start would be helpful. To know if a phased in approach is best for your organization (start using one area/feature at a time) or if you can input all and take off running. Because accounting is directly integrated, which is a GREAT feature, it can be challenging to wrap your head around the big picture, but once you do, it is SO worth it.

Reason for choosing MonkeyPod

Integration of accounting/budgeting with donor management. Cost was affordable for our organization.

### "Grateful for MonkeyPod"

We're working on our API configuration and stretching our wings with the deep cross-functionality MonkeyPod provides. Though we're still in early stages of our deployment of MonkeyPod, we're grateful and extremely pleased with the product and the team behind it. We're excited to continue to harness the power of this exceptional tool. I highly recommend it.

Pros

MonkeyPod offers tremendous versatility, easy to configure customization, no price penalties for growth and outstanding customer service. This product was developed from the ground up for Nonprofits and it shows. The automated integration of CRM, email marketing, online fundraising, accounting and reporting, and task management saves time while increasing transparency. MonkeyPod's user-driven feature development portal is also a huge plus.

Cons

As a newer to market product, there are some features that are still in development. That said, MonkeyPod actively communicates its product development roadmap with users and gives users a voice in the process. While a modicum of patience is required, MonkeyPod demonstrates that good things come to those who wait and the readily accessible benefits of the product far outweigh any wishes for features yet to go live.

### "Life Saving"

So far so good. I have been able to figure out things on my own at my own speed and also with expert guidance from the staff. If there is a question or a function that can't be explained.... give it a few days and we will find out. I don't have enough time to play in the software is really the only complaint.

Pros

The fact that I was able to consolidate multiple software programs into one location with so many functions and for a fraction of the cost. Even if I was paying the over $100,000 annual income price, I would still be paying less than I was for the other services which were frustrating at best. For data-minded individuals, the amount of reporting and grouping and classifiying that can be done with such ease is astounding.

Cons

I wish I could sell tickets to my performances, that is the last application I would need to integrate.
