Excellent! We are so lucky to have found them! :)

Pros

Superb customer service, account reconciliation, fiscal reporting, grant tracking, and ability to “tag” every transaction with our properties we build. We connected with 24 other companies (contracted with 2 that could not provide promised capabilities) before discovering Monkeypod - a platform that merged NP capabilities with our “product” involving construction!

Cons

Ease of email and pre-made donation form that may not capture all of a donor’s data.

Reason for choosing MonkeyPod

Their sales department was able to actually show us how screens could be built-out with features we required. As an administrator who will be handing the transactions off to a bookkeeper in the future, it was important that Monkeypod truly understood that admin required UI knowledge/training first; they were extremely patient in getting me to near-mastery level. Again, they could also provide all of the necessary capabilities for a NP, while allowing us to “tag” every transaction assigned to each house/project we build.

The main problem with MonkeyPod is one that we would have with any tool--namely, the reluctance of some of our staff and Board members to take the time to learn a new tool. They want to cling to the old way of doing things, since this is easier on them, but by not taking a tougher line on transitioning we are missing out on the benefits for which MonkeyPod was chosen. I hope that's a temporary situation.

Pros

I have been very pleased with the responsiveness of MonkeyPod staff whenever I have had a question or concern. I feel that they not only listen to our organization's needs, but they really care about helping us to make data-based decisions to more successfully serve our community.

Cons

Using email addresses as IDs for entities (customer, donor) leads to duplicate records when the same person interacts with us via more than one email address. There are workarounds, but occasionally there is confusion. I would also like to use contra accounts--for example, to subtract discounts and refunds from our ticket data right there in the income section, instead of treating those more as expenditures. MonkeyPod doesn't currently support contra accounts, although that might change.

Generally, the other tools were way out of our price range.

Pros

The MonkeyPod team has been immensely helpful with our onboarding process for their product. They provide thorough training and personalized support all along the way. Their system has made tracking our donors, Board information, members, and volunteers easy. It also has helpful tools available for tracking grants.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to send an email campaign to multiple email distribution lists at the same time.

MonkeyPod makes it possible for us to focus on our mission rather than having to spend a lot of time worrying about accounting. Everything about this software makes our work lives easier and more efficient. MonkeyPod helps us work smarter, not harder.

Pros

MonkeyPod's integration of accounting, CRM, email marketing, donor management, customer relations, grant tracking, and everything else is incredible. There are infinite ways that this system makes work easier and helps us focus on our mission first and foremost.

Cons

Data transfer from other systems is complicated because of how difficult it is to get the data you need out of those other systems you might have been using in the past. But MonkeyPod's staff is incredibly helpful and the templates they provide make is so much easier! There's a temptation to try to migrate only one system at a time and I think that's ultimately a mistake. Just bite the bullet and take the time to get the data imported correctly and you'll be so happy you have a functional integrated system to use (you won't miss those other programs for a second!).

I used MonkeyPod at my old job and when I moved into my new position at a new nonprofit I knew that using MonkeyPod was a MUST. I can't imagine working without it.

### "Excellent all-in-one tool for our small education foundation"

We've just finished migrating all of our data over, and are up and running. We have yet to do a fundraiser with MonkeyPod, but our donor management, email campaigns, individual donations, and ongoing accounting is all going smoothly. Their staff is incredibly responsive! Amazing support, made even more so by the fact that our organization is small enough to be on their discounted plan and they didn't skimp at all on any onboarding help we asked for. They seem to be an excellent company.

Pros

MonkeyPod has been a game-changer for our organization. With only one paid staff member and one contracted grant writer, we need to be very efficient with people's time. The integration of our donor management, accounting, marketing, grant tracking, to do lists, (everything!) in one place is huge. Rather than having a collection of different tools (MailChimp, Quickbooks, DonorBox, Dropbox, etc.) we now have all staff, board members, and volunteers working off one system. We avoid a lot of duplicated effort now and have streamlined multiple workflows. This efficiency creates greater capacity for our staff to focus on the bigger tasks for the foundation. And the simple access to view our budget, donations, grants, and various action items gives our volunteer board quick and easy visibility into the health and status of the organization at any point.From a technical standpoint, I appreciate the lean/modern design of MonkeyPod and the absolutely incredible responsiveness of their customer service and technical team. I appreciate that the program isn't bloated with features that we'll never use (some of the other CRM packages have far more than we need for donor management or email marketing), but it has just about everything we need to efficiently run our nonprofit.Their weekly Wednesday open hours are a brilliant idea -- giving customers a regularly schedule time to talk face-to-face with knowledgeable staff about how to best use MonkeyPod.

Cons

There are some inconsistencies in the interface that trip me up occasionally, but I'm hopeful those will be resolved over time. They could also offer more for custom reporting. You can export to Excel and create your own reports there, but sometimes data needed for our reports isn't available with an export.

Reason for choosing MonkeyPod

Integrated accounting, ability to track our outbound funds (awards to schools), feature set isn't overkill for our needs, and Community Edition pricing made it accessible.

MP has made all of my accounting and administration problems fade into the background so that I can focus on running our organization. I used to get so stressed when it came time to create or print reports. NO MORE! I can do all of the financial things and then focus on the work I enjoy!

Pros

I run an extremally small non-profit to work with youth in the outdoors. I have no experience in accounting or financial management. I needed a non-profit accounting product that was cost effective but did not require me to go back to school to learn accounting. MonkeyPod is EXACTLY that product. It fits within our budget and offers opportunities for us to expand. The customer service has been super responsive anytime I had a question or problem. The weekly drop ins to help with problems are fantastic. The whole MP team has been so easy to work with and understand the needs of a small non-profit. The accounting is easy to use. It lets me set up my own chart of accounts. We can integrate with our bank and they have so many apps to help us do what we need to do for our employees and donors.

Cons

The only bad thing I experienced actually showed how responsive they are to customer needs. At first they were unable to integrate with our bank so I could easily download transactions even though our bank was listed as being supported. After a bit a email conversation they were able to get everything up and running. I have no complaints!

Overall MonkeyPod is the easiest financial program I have used. The CRM management is useful and comprehensive. Thank you letters are easy to create using the Fundraising Reports from MonkeyPod and Word.

Pros

Monkey Pod is very simple to use and even if you are not a professionally trained accountant you can run financial reports with ease and compare each year to the prior year at the touch of a button. You can scan your invoices and save them in MonkeyPod with the check number and payee so all your information is in one spot if you need to refer back to it. The support is incredible, questions are answered the same day and the support team works with you until the problem is solved. They donʻt send you a link to watch a video and figure it out on your own like so many other companies do, they talk to you and suggest solutions and follow up with you to make sure itʻs resolved.

Cons

We are a performing arts venue so a ticketing module that includes a season ticket and flexpass option as well as single tickets would make my life complete. Overall, building an email campaign is a really easy but you do have to delete the suggested template pieces before you can build a new campaign. The best thing to do is make your own templates and save them, but for each new template you make you will have to delete a bunch of suggestions.

Overall experience with MonkeyPod is very positive. I enjoy the ease of creating email blasts, how quickly I can download information into a spreadsheet when necessary, and the ability to create a pipeline that is a roadmap for repeated actions within our organization

Pros

We can and do use this 1 software for many solutions ;helping us reduce our tech stack, increasing our efficiency with action items and pipelines and giving us a birds eye view of how(and who) we are engaging with throughout our year.

Cons

When we create action items there is an option to include if the action is dependent on another item however the user can only select from previous actions, there is no free form entry option which would be helpful.

### "From a single Excel spreadsheet to MonkeyPod!"

A new \[sensitive content hidden\] is pushing our organization to new ways of operating, and we now need to track multiple grants, with all the subsequent reporting necessary. As the long-time volunteer handling our single checking account and an excel spreadsheet tracker, I was starting to panic until I found MonkeyPod. I can now tag each expense to its grant, pull up a full report on spending for an individual project or check what balance remains for a given grant account with just a click or two.

Pros

It really is quite easy to set up, although I must confess that the first two things I did, I did incorrectly and spent a good bit of time trying to fix. However, product support stayed with me till I got it all corrected, and I subsequently devoted more time to the video tutorials BEFORE trying to do something new - a process that worked much better!

Cons

I still have trouble intuiting what is meant by various accounting terms, but am learning. While some of this is likely to be available somewhere in their excellent video tutorials, I have not yet stumbled across exactly where to look for what.

Monkeypod's staff is amazing and this system is unbelievably supportive to nonprofits of all sizes. I can't say enough good things about Monkeypod. I tell everyone I know who works in nonprofit about it.

Properly bookkeeping for nonprofits is not easy with most accounting products. Monkeypod is able to support all areas of nonprofit bookkeeping and reporting, plus it supported the rest of our organization with email capacity, board of director organization, CRM, and more. We are leaving mailchimp and other systems behind and moving everything into Monkeypod.

We have been very happy with monkeypod, again it's allowed us to streamline and we have led several email campaigns that were also fairly successful!

Pros

I like the fact that monkeypod eliminates the need for multiple systems. We were able to cancel 3 or 4 services because monkeypod was able to do the job of those 4 systems.

I wish I could pay the bills from monkeypod and it would actually move the money. Right now it just makes a record fo the transaction

Love it, other than the Eventbrite monopoly.

Pros

As an arts administrator, my day job uses very complex and outdated software that requires a team to operate the different locations in which our data resides. MonkeyPod is so simple one person can easy see and manipulate every bit of data in one place. My work with Nightingale (separate from my day job) is made that much easier as a result, and in just a month of using this software, our in-house operations have SIGNIFICANTLY improved beyond recognition. Amazing product for tiny non-profits such as ours.

Cons

As a musical organization, we need to sell tickets. The only integrated ticketing platform option is Eventbrite, which takes criminally high service fees. We've lost out on a good number of presales because of this. There are cheaper, ticketing platforms out there, but they do not integrate into the CRM. Perhaps this is something MonkeyPod can add in the future.

We were storing everything in Google spreadsheets. It was a nightmare. MonkeyPod was the cheapest and most friendly service for small organizations like ours. It's like it was tailor made for startups on a shoestring budget.

Overall the experience with Monkeypod has been amazing. The Mokeypod team has been helpful and accommodating from the jump. They have made themselves available to us for help migrating out of and into their system. Communication was quick and problems were solved right away. This was especially helpful to us since we had a quick deadline to migrate out of our previous CRM.

Pros

We have just completed importing our data from our previous CRM and email marketing databases. We are in the process of verifying that the data has imported correctly and setting ourselves up to start using Monkeypod exclusively. So far things look great and the migration from old to new went smoothly.

Cons

None that we can identify at the moment. Part of why we chose Monkeypod over other options was because it had all of the things we needed.

MonkeyPod staff is very quick to hand-hold its users through training and integration in the most supportive way I've ever experienced from any similar system.

Pros

MonkeyPod allows me to manage many aspects of our nonprofit organization in one place, rather than disparate spreadsheets. At the core, it's a CRM / Donor-Management system, but the fact that it integrates budgeting, forecasting, bookkeeping, fundraising, invoicing, and grant administration makes it a very powerful tool for any nonprofit arts organization or business association.

Cons

As a new user, I am simply in awe of the features MonkeyPod boasts and have not yet found areas that are lacking. Not to say that I won't as I integrate the system across all of our management areas, but for now it's really going above and beyond what I expect from a CRM or Donor Management system.

I love the ease of the program. The fundraising pages are so easy for the donor to send in a donation and an email is sent directly to me. The layout of the pages are easy to complete as well as the structure of the program. GREAT PROGRAM!

The customer service is out of this world! They all go above and beyond. They even have a feature that allows you to track upgrades/new features and submit suggestions.

Pros

The user experience is intuitive and well built for nonprofit systems. We are blown away to have a system that integrates our CRM, donations, bookkeeping, email marketing, etc. It can even manage your board! Definitely built by people who know nonprofit systems well.

Cons

We've had zero difficulties with the product so far, but I guess our least favorite aspect is having to pay additional monthly fees for some of the add-ons or suites. This isn't unusual though, and the fees are reasonable.

I've been using MonkeyPod for about three months now and it makes it so easy to track our donations, expenses, and reimbursements and which accounts expenses should be charged to.

Pros

I am starting a new nonprofit and have a fiscal sponsor. We are using Monkeypod to track my grant spending. It is a. great tool that makes tracking and requesting disbursements easy. I appreciate being able to see updated information in the MonkeyPod portal. There are lost of features and you can customize how your dashboard looks.

Cons

It takes a while to familiarize yourself with all the different sections and tabs. More training videos would be a plus.

It makes everything so easy it feels like it can't be real.

Pros

Too many things to name! I like the ease in which the CRM and accounting software assimilate.

Cons

I would say it is slightly more difficult to integrate MonkeyPod if you are switching to it before your fiscal year is over.
