Cons The web dashboard for non-technical staff to administer the API was inadequate, however a recent redesign has remedied this. Outstanding product and developer support. Use extensively for all PDF generation needs. Pros Incredibly easy set-up and integration. Intuitive builder and in-app browser preview mode useful. We were able to have a proof of concept done in a day and in production within the week it was so easy to get integrated. The price is great! Even with a discount, one competitor wanted $2 per PDF, for DocSpring it is a few cents. I have never had a better experience with customer support. It is rare to be able to speak to someone as knowledgeable about their product as the customer support representative has been. You can create templates in both PDF and HTML (with liquid support) which is great! For most use cases, our users can just create a PDF, upload it, and configure it. If you need more complicated templates, there is the HTML option. Pros We loved how fast we could get DocSpring implemented into our existing products. The documentation was enough for a developer to get something up and running quickly. We originally went with DocSpring for the PDF generation based on JSON data, but we soon found the Data Request feature which allows us to send clients documents that need to be filled out and signed. This was a huge unexpected bonus, and is now our primary usage! The customer support is also amazing! I have contacted them multiple times about features and how to do specific things. Every time I was in contact with an actual developer of DocSpring within minutes. When I hit a bug, they had a fix released for us within the hour. Cons The data request feature is still being worked on, so there are some bugs that we have ran into. However, their customer support has fixed the bugs we ran into quickly. Also, it is currently missing webhooks for each step of the data request processes, so we had to implement a work around until that is implemented. I expect the DocSpring team to resolve these issues shortly.
