It filled the need our company had to distribute, quickly and easily, gift cards for team building happy hours and lunches.

Pros

The ability to maintain recipient groups to easily re-send gift cards when occasions arise. Much easier than manually inputting each time, especially when working with a large number of team members.

Cons

Easy for people to miss the email and/or be unaware of the intention. As an admin/giver, you really need to communicate clearly so team members know to keep an eye out in their Inbox.

### "Hoppier is Still a Win"

It was easy to implement and has been easy to manage overall. Staff enjoy it, and we have not found an equivalent program that meets the value and functionality of Hoppier yet.

Pros

Hoppier is quite user-friendly for both the program manager and the recipient. It's easy to get new contacts set up in the account, create new programs, and distribute funds. We especially like that unused funds are returned to us, and that everything is in $ and not an arbitrary secondary currency (points, etc.). It's also easy to accommodate our international staff with adjusted pricing and accessible vendors.

Cons

It can be a little clunky to use Hoppier funds as a recipient, and we have needed to help our older staff more often than others. It is also a little clunky to set up multiple programs when staff may need to be added to the same one that was already used (i.e. "Bingo Winners" for a repeat winner).

Pros

I like that we’re able to also use it with our international employees and that they have the option to purchase whatever they want.

Cons

It’s somewhat confusing to tell if a participant has funds within a program, so I always end up creating new programs. I often get the error message that we don’t have enough funds, even though I add funds to our balance. Overall, Hoppier is not very user-friendly and I’ve had better experiences with other gift card services, like Tremendous.

My experience with Hoppier has been excellent. It’s a simple, reliable way to recognize and reward team members, regardless of their location. The platform removes the usual complications of cross-border gifting and makes it effortless to give thoughtful, flexible rewards. Support has been responsive, and setup was straightforward, which made adoption easy for the whole team.

Pros

Hoppier makes it easy to show my team appreciation, no matter where they are! With other tools, I’ve run into challenges sending rewards across borders, like purchasing in the U.S. for team members in Canada. Hoppier removes those barriers and ensures everyone, wherever they’re located, is taken care of.

Cons

Honestly, I don’t have any real complaints. Hoppier works exactly as I need it to—simple, reliable, and effective for recognizing team members across different countries without any complications.

Pros

I like that Hoppier is simple to use. I just onboarded a new admin to our site today and found it easy to teach her how to use it. I find the site very user-friendly.

Cons

I don't like having to buy invitations separately from the pool of money for awarding the gift cards. I'm not really sure why those two things are separated.

Overall experience has been positive. Hoppier provides a fairly straight forward means for providing tokens of appreciation to participants. The support staff has been very responsive and helpful to work through issues.

Pros

Ability to provide customers a choice in selecting their e-gift card. A means for managing this process through a third party at a reasonable price to the organization.

Cons

Initially the cards were not presented alphabetically and there was no search function. I am not sure if this has been corrected yet.

Cons

Pros

The flexibility and ease of use -- not having to manage anything, really! The dashboard is clear and it's easy to see how much I have left.

Cons

The per-invitation spend is a bit harder to explain to leadership to secure funding. It can also be a bit difficult to manage how much money to load to cover the cost of a campaign, especially when you already have an existing balance.

That ready easy to us. You just add the gift card it to you phone and you're ready to go. Customer support is great.

Cons

Sometimes I struggle to understand the process of currency conversion (I use it in Europe). And also twice or so my hopper card was not accepted in some shops.

Pros

I really enjoyed the variety of places you can use your credit. Our participants are usually from all around the country, and having the variety helped.

Cons

The interface (as an admin) was not the easiest. It was not straightforward trying to figure out how it works.

We have been customers with Hoppier for over 2 years now and it has been a great switch for us. The ease of sending a gift card to our employees in a pinch and the team likes the instant gratification of receiving the gift card.

Pros

The Hoppier Support Team is very responsive and on top of any problem that may arise. The tracking of the gift cards and being able to get money back for those that don't use the platform. In the past when we would send out a gift card in the mail they would get lost and never knew if they were redeemed.

Cons

Challenges with Gift Cards working at times but the support team has a new system in place which is no longer an issue for us.

It gives us flexibility, saves us money, and makes rewards feel modern and engaging. Compared to other competitive products we’ve tried, Hoppier is far more effective and valuable.

Pros

I love the flexibility and control it gives. It makes it easy to give employees across multiple countries rewards that they can use how they like, while also letting us set restrictions when needed (like for events). It’s perfect for client gifting, and the reporting tools make it simple to see usage and savings. The ability to set expiration dates, roll over balances, and even just send a link in our own branded emails is fantastic. Most importantly, the amount of money we’ve saved from unclaimed rewards has been unbelievable, allowing us to reinvest in employee engagement and marketing.

Cons

The cards themselves are a bit pricey, and I wish there were more customization options for branding the cards.

Pros

I like that Hoppier gives us complete control over our monthly lunch stipend program. The virtual Visa cards are super easy for employees to use. They can spend at their favorite local restaurants or food delivery apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash. As an admin, I love how fast and flexible the platform is—no need to manage expense reports or track receipts.

Cons

The reporting dashboard could be more detailed. I'd like to see more filters or download options when tracking usage by region or employee group.

I’ve been using Hoppier through Atlassian for a few years now, and overall, it’s been a great experience. The software is super user-friendly and easy to navigate, and their customer support has always been 100% reliable — they’re quick to help and really dependable. The only issue I’ve noticed is that sometimes the platform takes a while to load, especially when reloading cards or when there’s a lot of data. It can slow things down a bit. I’m hoping future updates will make the loading and reloading process faster and smoother. Other than that, I’m really happy with Hoppier. It’s been a great tool, and I appreciate how consistently helpful the team has been.

Pros

What I like about Hoppier is that the software is user-friendly and easy to navigate, and the customer support is 100% reliable.

Cons

It’s always loading, and sometimes it crashes the program. I also noticed that when there’s a lot of data in Hoppier, it begins to reload slowly and the system becomes sluggish.

My experience so far has been good, but there are still things that can be improved on. The things that can be improved on are what I highlighted in my cons.

Pros

I like the fact that Hoppier works across several countries and is a good option when considering gifting a large number of individuals spread across different countries of the world.

Cons

I don't like the idea of a higher $6 participation fee, with the 3% processing fee. There are other platforms that charge just a processing fee and not a $6 participation fee. I don't like the idea of Hoppier card not having the option of transfer to local banks by default.

### "Bad Customer Support"

Not great - which is sad, cause I think it's a great service. As with so many companies, it's the things around the service causing issues, i.e. after-sales, admon etc.

Pros

Ease of use. A great service that allows me to incentivise my people on the other side of the world.

Cons

Some cards has limitations on, but nowhere is this mentioned. Only after my employees complained that they can't use it and I emailed Hoppier did I got the answer of why not. With a bunch of emails then back-and-forth, 3 people of Hoppier were unable to either cancel the limitation I put on my purchase (i.e. to open it up to my employees to use it on and vendor on not just the ones I selected), or to cancel the whole transaction all together. I eventually gave up as no-one were able to help, but also never gave me a clear indication that they can't. I was just always transferred to someone new that couldn't read the mail trail and I then had te re-explain everything again.

My experience has been entirely pleasant. The reward and shopping experience is one and done. It is fantastic when working with repeat recipients with contact information and history of what has been given.

Pros

Ease of use. It allows for all levels of gifting; coffee, lunch and gifts so that nothing is out of reach in one's price range.

Cons

It has all been good. The only thing which may be challenging to the uninitiated (read new clients) is that navigating the redemption page is not quite intuitive.
