### "Trusted SMTP service"

August 12, 2025

5.0

My experience with Sendgrid has always been good, there are no problems with their shipping system, their builder is great and their API integrates with many other tools.

Pros

It has always been a fundamental tool for the development of email campaigns. It has been a reference against other companies.

Cons

Possibly the price is a determining factor. Today there are many competitive tools that can cope. In general, there are no complaints.

### "A Powerful Email Sending Platform."

January 4, 2025

5.0

My experience with sendgrid is very much satisfied. It provides a lot email customization.

Pros

1- SendGrid provides customizable email templates. 2- SendGrid offers robust API support, which makes it easy for developers to integrate email sending into applications. 3- SendGrid has 24/7 customer support, including chat, email, and phone support for premium users.

Cons

1- Sometimes customer support response times can be slower.

### "Good platform, but deliverability holds it back"

April 20, 2026

4.0

It’s easy to get started and works well on the surface, but over time you notice the difference between expected and actual results, particularly around deliverability. It’s a platform that can work, but you need to keep a close eye on performance and not assume everything is reaching the inbox as intended.

Pros

Clean interface, easy setup, flexible list and data management, scalable for larger sends, usable template builder

Cons

Deliverability can be inconsistent, global blacklist presence affects performance, limited transparency on inbox placement, account issues can take time to resolve

### "A Tale of Incompetence: SENDGRID's New Heights of Customer Disservice"

April 8, 2025

1.0

A Tale of Incompetence: SENDGRID's New Heights of Customer Disservice Let me paint you a picture of the absurdity that is SENDGRID’s latest “feature.” Imagine a world where you can \*control the IP addresses\* that log into your account. Sounds sophisticated, right? Except, here’s the kicker: if you dare to use a different device or a new ISP, you’re immediately blocked from accessing your own account. Brilliant, isn’t it? Now, let me share my personal experience with this stroke of genius. SENDGRID, in all its wisdom, decided to activate this new feature, effectively locking me, my admin, and my tech team out of our accounts. And what was the solution offered by this beacon of customer support? "Take a ticket and wait." Yes, wait. For seven excruciating days. When they \*finally\* deigned to call me—at the oh-so-convenient hour of 12 midnight, no less—what followed was an exercise in sheer absurdity. The “expert” on the other end had the audacity to insist that I must log into the account to disable the IP block feature. Yes, you read that right: log in to an account from which I was explicitly locked out. Now, I don’t throw around the word “idiot” lightly, but in this case, it feels inadequate. After multiple emails to their elusive “customer service,” I explicitly explained that the IP block feature prevented access. And yet, the response I received? A resounding non sequitur that makes one question whether anyone at SENDGRID actually reads emails—or possesses basic comprehension skills. As a direct result of this farcical chain of incompetence, I have now lost two major advertising accounts worth $12,000 AUD annually. And what was the response from SENDGRID? A tone-deaf “Sorry, I understand your frustration, but we were busy.” Busy. Of course. Too busy to care about their customers or even pretend to provide support. Here’s the bottom line: if you value your time, money, or sanity, I urge you to \*avoid SENDGRID at all costs\*. They’ve clearly become too big to bother with pesky things like customer service, and their disdain for their users is palpable.

Pros

Nothing now, 7 days later I an still waiting for a call back, You cannot run a business with support like that.

Cons

They have got to big to care about customers

### "Making our store transactional email reliable."

March 8, 2026

5.0

When an E-Commerce Manager, it is important that order confirmations be actually received by our buyers. I have this to drive our store emails of transactions. It is a horse to work with in regard to deliverability yet it is extremely tough to get technical assistance.

Pros

Their flexibility in terms of dynamism in email templates is superb and we can depend on them to provide our retail customers with order receipts and shipping updates using a very reliable service.

Cons

The pricing levels are not worth the money because our e-commerce traffic is at its peak, and customer service is painfully slow when we have urgent account problems or some data management failures.

Overall Experience is very good, like i can trust on sendgrid with my eyes closed.

Pros

### "Best email deliverability I've found so far from a new, custom domain"

September 10, 2025

5.0

Integrated directly (and was recommended) by Replit for a vibe coded project. Replit was requested to send email and it guided me to sending up a Sendgrid account which was nice and easy.

Pros

A really complete product but with a super simple interface. I needed it for transactional email and I'd say it's deliverability is better than anything I've seen before in terms of reliability.

Cons

An extremely minor point but if I had to find a con from my experience so far it would be that navigating the custom domain settings requires a bit of knowledge and research. Personal scenario, if you know what you're doing you'll do fine. Easy enough to muddle your way through.

### "Ok for individual email sends, not ideal for automations."

April 2, 2026

3.0

My experience has been ok but not great. I’ve run into bugs that the support team hasn’t been able to help with and often feel limited by the automation capabilities.

Pros

Sending individual email campaigns is simple and their design editor is easy to use as a non technical user.

Cons

Their email automations aren’t very dynamic and aren’t easy to edit after they are set to live, it’s especially frustrating you can’t edit time between emails once an automation is live.

### "Send it with SendGrid"

March 16, 2026

4.0

SendGrid does what it says on the tin. It is easy to set up and use. The APIs are well documented, making the developer experience a good one. Detailed reporting and high deliverability give a sense of comfort that SendGrid works as advertised.

Pros

SendGrid is everything you need and expect - it is reliable, scalable and powerful. Via well documented APIs, nice reporting, and a generous free tier, getting started and maintaining flow is painless and easy.

Cons

While there are generous free and lower tiers, the pricing jumps between tiers can be significant. While there is automation, it is limited compared to the competition.

### "Terrible Customer Service"

My account was hacked and the hacker blocked my IP address. It took SendGrid support 3 day to get back to me. I still don't have access to my account.

Pros

Seems like a robust email delivery service. N upfront cost. I can start with our free plan and try the full suite of features at my own pace.

Cons

Terrible customer support. They do not have a contact number or online ticket system. Response by email is very slow.

### "SendGrid - You pay for reliability"

July 31, 2023

5.0

Easy to set up, secure and verbose logging and reporting make this an easy choice for SaaS email relaying. While there is a marketing portion to this application, we don't use it so I can't speak of it.

Pros

I don't think the email API service has ever had a technical downtime where it doesn't work in the many years we have used it. The API itself is very easy to use and use the least privileges. Integrating the API into your SEIM or reporting platform (Power Bi for example) is also really easy to do and gives verbose information.

Cons

Email reputation can be a concern in ensuring your emails are delivered externally unless you want to pay extra, otherwise, the lower tiers are fine and still have decent deliverability %'s, typically above 95%'s.

### "Unique Way to Build a Custom Campaign manager in Record Time"

April 13, 2024

5.0

We've liked it thus far, we're working on rebranding and on the email side we're ready thanks to SendGrid.

Pros

We like how there are code snippets, thorough documentation, and multiple-domain support (Something we lacked before)

Cons

I'm fond of support that makes you wait for a solution when an issue arises, but errors and documentation is thorough enough it rarely happens.

### "SendGrid"

April 26, 2022

5.0

Sendgrid handles all my mailing campaigns and I have stuck with it from day one to date. I like the email deliverability and tracking metrics offered by SendGrid and will stick with it for the foreseeable future as everything works smoothly.

Pros

It was very easy to integrate with my existing stack. SendGrid has really worked hard to make sure it's easy to use their software with other services out there. Most website builders by default ask you to integrate Sendgrid as your emailing service, and that was the case with my website builder. It was really easy for me to get started as all I had to do was add an API key in a provided input field. SendGrid did all the heavy lifting and I did not have to do any coding or even go through the API documentation(which by the way is very comprehensive ). You fill that that is the case in so many services that integrate with SendGrid, integration is light-work.

Cons

It is a little expensive, especially when sending a tonne of emails out and having a lot of contacts. Your email totals low-key add up when you have multiple drip campaigns and transactional emails set up. If you have a small budget it's really difficult to get measurable success on SendGrid as I found out when I just started while having a very low budget. The best way to get the best out of SendGrid is with a substantial budget, and that's a bummer when starting out.

Reason for choosing SendGrid

I choose Sendgrid because it was really easy to set up with my stack of Bubble and Zapier without any code of using the API documentation.

### "The Best Option for Email Marketing "

January 4, 2023

4.0

SendGrid is the best option that assembles a host of benefits in one place; its editor, analytics and reports, and particularly, its powerful feature to prioritize campaigns and increase performance let every business excels.

Pros

SendGrid is the best option to boost your business ahead or rather your marketing emails; its detailed reports on clicks, opens, subscribers and even spam lets you revise or edit your campaigns and thus increase conversion. SendGrid is best known for its editor, which lets tailor your emails according your needs, both demographic or geographic.

Cons

Actually, I become slow to recommend SendGrid due to its limited features of contact management; it does not provide many options compared to Mailchimp. I also did not like its pricing, which determines the quality of your SendGrid dashboard.

### "SendGrid offers a great transactional email API, but deliverability & support issues hold it back"

August 1, 2018

4.0

Easy integration into our platform and deliverability metrics. Dedicated IP, if you pay for it.

Pros

We use SendGrid for transactional emails, such as welcome messages & notifications. Generally, SendGrid offers great tools to integrate emails into a variety of different application platforms and programming languages. We really like its level of detail when checking on the status of emails. Sendgrid is also free for basic transactional emails, which makes it easy to try and ensure it will work with your application. We use a third-party library called Nodemailer with Sendgrid, so switching from a different service to Sendgrid was trivial.

Cons

While the service is easy to use and offers comprehensive email activity metrics, there are a few things about it we didn't like. First, because the free tier uses shared IPs, we consistently had emails that wouldn't get delivered because of IP blocks. There were a handful of IPs that we had that experience with, and it persisted for weeks -- without any support intervention. Sendgrid must have deliverability metrics on their side as well, so I am surprised they didn't drop these IPs from their IP pool proactively. We had to upgrade to the PRO plan, which was the least expensive plan that had a dedicated IP. We also had to pay extra for 30 days of email history, you get 3 days by default. I'd love to see all these options be a-la-carte, but I get that you need to make revenue somehow, and few companies send enough emails to justify jumping to the next paid plan -- unless you NEED that deliverability guarantee that you get w/ dedicated IPs, which we did.
