Pros SendGrid is a great service for sending personalized emails. I love how easy SendGrid is to use and the automation features that they provide. I have used it for years and it has helped me to create a more personal and professional relationship with our leads. They have helped me send over 1000 emails in the last three months and I am really satisfied with the service. If you are looking for a new email service, look no further than SendGrid! Cons The integrations are a bit tricky when it comes to integrate form builder. Also, the support takes too long to respond sometimes. Pros Nothing to like about this service unfortunately. Cons There is no customer support, they ban your account even after you have paid for no reason due to suspicious activity, which is sending emails. The service for sending emails bans their users for sending emails, and then you have to open a support ticket to reactivate your account which takes almost 2 weeks to get an initial response. We send roughly 100k emails per month and haven't had an issue with deliverability. Support has been good when we needed it. They also have a great program for startups. The SDKs are also getting better every day. Very happy overall! Cons The admin website could use some work as the UX isn't that great. Cons Several components of SendGrid makes it very difficult to use. First, adding new contact and organising them into group isn't as straightforward as it you would in any contacts app like the one on smartphone or Google. Second, the email editor is sometimes complicated when you want to format it nicely such as adjust line spacing, indentation, text colour and fonts. Sometime it is faster to just type in Word and paste into the editor. Also when you have repeating campaigns (which you probably duplicate from old one), still you have to re-enter subject line and add contacts. That is not duplicate at all! Finally the workflow to create campaign, edit email and send out is not smooth and intuitive as a step-by-step procedure. They have created more problems than solved. They have actually solved nothing at this stage... only created more problems. Pros Nothing. Well, I liked the promises, until I found out they were empty and not at all what I would experience. Cons Doesn't work as promised, created even MORE trouble than I had before them, and the customer service is deplorable. They don't listen, don't address your concerns, point fingers, and use passive-aggressive tactics to make you look unprofessional with your clients, then tell you you need to upgrade or spend more to get what you want. Reason for choosing SendGrid Recommendation of another tech team with another product I use on my site. Switched from [Mailchimp](https://www.capterra.com/p/110228/MailChimp/) I was told by a company I use for my booking calendar that SendGrid was good and would be able to solve my problems with confirmation emails not being delivered. Now they are not delivered, or multiples are delivered AFTER their appointment, and I don't get notifications that customers have scheduled with me! The overall experience was very positive and hard not to recommend this for businesses looking to switch to a newer email solution that is ahead of the curve. Pros The ability to see the structure, moving pieces and results of your individual email campaigns make this a product that stands out to me, having used similar products before. For those who are more advanced users and those non tech savvy, it will be easy to pick up on and learn the systems basic functionality. Cons The front end side including the menu structure and ease of navigation is an area that can be most improved, to make it easy to track your activity history and make changes to items you recently updated. Cons It is very difficult to design a newsletter using their drag-and-drop feature. You should not be too demanding on the design. Moreover, analytics are also limited compared to competing tools. CEO Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Turned us off on a Holiday weekend because we did not respond to an email" July 6, 2022 1.0 After much research we chose SendGrid. I signed up 2 of our websites to send contact forms from our wordpress websites. We tested for a few weeks, and then went to upgrade our account to a paid account. Despite having verified domains, they emailed me on a Holiday weekend asking for screenshots (proof) of domain ownership - despite adding dns records - which obviously shows domain ownership. Not only did they not let us upgrade to a paid account, they turned email off in the middle of the weekend. All because we did not respond during the July 4th Holiday weekend. Our clients lost critical site contacts, and lost business. I am just blown away at why this happened. They knew we are not using this for spam or email marketing and they just cancelled our account. I wish I could give 0 stars. Pros Price, ability to use with different domains. Cons Terrible customer service. Bad business practices that hurt the customer. Pros I liked its reputation score feature a lot, I don't know how reliable it is but its great to know. I also liked the UI compared to the tools, it looks refreshing and provides a great UX. Cons Email formatting is little complex and kills the mood to schedule a whole campaign on the platform. We do not sent out sales emails... just normal business emails. Certainly less than a thousand per month. They failed. Pros There is really only one feature... does it work or not? Theirs does not. Cons We just wanted to use this to have a managed service that would insure we don't end up on spam lists. We had a few emails get rejected, so rather than try to manage it, we wanted to oursource it. Sendgrid is a complete waste of money. When you pay, you get lumped in with the "free" accounts. They then get put on blacklists, and SendGrid does nothing about it other than tell you to pay more. What is the point in the "essential" package if you just get lumped in with free? Pros There are a few ways to take advantage of Sendgrid. Having an API to plugin to third-party apps is great or you can create a complete email campaign right in Sendgrid.
