### "The best mailing solution?"

Pros

I think, that SendGrid might be the best solution for e-mail marketing purposes or sending automated e-mails in some sort of user flow. It really speeds up the development. The desktop/mobile formats make it easy to reliably send pre-specified e-mails.

Cons

Some customizations might not be that straight forward for someone.

### "If you're tight on the budget..."

It did what we needed it to do, so that was good. We used it for over a year for monthly newsletters, but as soon as our marketing budget allowed it, we switched to MailChimp.

Pros

It did work and it did send the email newsletters that we needed it to. Therefore, it wasn't a complete waste of money :D Compared to many other options for email marketing, SendGrid was one of the cheapest options (except for sending the newsletters manually through one's email) and that was one of the reasons why we went with it.

Cons

It's got a lot of features, but they feel half-baked (I'm sorry, but they do.) For example, you can unsubscribe those whose emails have bounced or who unsubscribed. But in order to do that, you need to download those lists, then upload them to a special list you can call "unsubscribes" or whatever, and then, right after you've imported this list, you delete it - along with associated accounts. THIS deletes the people who bounced from your lists. Seriously?! The annoying thing was the styling within the newsletter. I am a perfectionist, so all text sizes and everything should be consistent. However, SendGrid kept changing the styles of my text and I had to choose "Normal" several times (even after copy-pasting the text from Notepad that doesn't support formatting AT ALL). And if you click on "Edit HTML" (which I often do because it's a fast way to clean away all the annoying tags), SendGrid would convert my block to HTML and would have an entirely different set of styles for it. Also, the support pages were written for someone who is native to this SendGrid thing and not a newbie. Despite doing email marketing for years, I had a hard time understanding what I need to do.

### "Allows you to see how your emails perform"

Great. We really love Sendgrid. We are using another different tool doing the same job, for various reason, but Sendgrid is really the one with which you can do more and analyze more.

Pros

We have been using Sendgrid for many things within the marketing team. We have been able to see how our emails perform in terms of sending, receiving, opening, click rate. It allows us to make bolder and assured move for the next ones we planned to have : which CTAs worked, what needs to be changed, etc. Our team in general is working with a huge data base of emails: they are able to verifiy if emails are bounced ones or if they work etc. We want to make sure that our transactional emails are efficient and Sendgrid help greatly for that.

Cons

It contains a LOT of data if you are blasting a lot of emails to a lot of different group of people. The best is to have one person dedicated in the teazm to really play with the data and share it to the team. Otherwise, each person can spend a lot of time on it.

I would have liked to continue with SendGrid since we spend time upfront in its implementation, but we simply could not continue once we came to the conclusion that it was simply not performing for us as well as other ESPs.

Pros

The pricing and implementation were easy enough but once we ran into some issues with email deliverability I felt like I had to school them on what to do.

Cons

It did not adapt to our needs, primarily deliverability.

Pros

En general cuando trabajo con sengrid hago las plantillas y solo agrego en código la llamada al api de sengrid para utilizar esas plantillas nuevas donde las necesito, o en su defecto entro en alguna plantilla para editar o cambiar el tamaño de texto o tipo de letra. Pero en general, una vez configurado todo, no hay que hacerle casi nada al código que maneja sengrid; es una sensación muy agradable el saber que si la implementación es la correcta (y documentada) no hay que volver a re trabajar en el proceso de envíos de emails.

Pros

La implementación en tecnologías como la son .net core y .net 4.5 es increíblemente amigable, no hay forma de que siguiendo el simple tutorial en la misma página web de sengrid puedas terminar confundido; simplemente agregas el nuget desde visual studio, agregas en tu código (o haces una clase genérica), las llaves necesarias que te proporcionan a través de tu perfil como más. Puedes agregar tu url y datos de empresa para evitar que tus correos terminen como spam en el correo de tus clientes. Además, la forma en que se pueden editar las plantillas y sustituir ciertos bloques del contenido por texto o algún otro dato que generes en código es también muy sencillo y cómodo.

Cons

En ocasiones la IU de la interfaz de la edición de las plantillas para en estado “Legacy” es lenta, y en algunos casos el generador de plantillas (el nuevo) se cofunde un poco en el orden de los componentes según se arrastran a la pantalla, pero con un poco de practica se le agarra el chiste.

I've been using SendGrid for years now and I love the email support. SendGrid has a great API and a bunch of different features. It's one of the best email services out there and is worth checking out if you're looking for an email solution. But I think they should take care of their spam filter feature.

Pros

It has high email deliverability, a variety of templates, and real-time analytic capabilities. It's easy to integrate into different platforms and applications. We use Salesforce for our client management and it is easy to integrate SendGrid with salesforce to send emails on a particular event.

Cons

Our marketing emails are being marked as spam mail because SendGrid's filters are not as effective as they should be. Setup SendGrid with Cloudflare is a little more manual, I think they could make it better.

SendGrid handles all of our mailing campaigns and we are very satisfied with the performance. I like the deliverability and tracking metrics provided by it.

Pros

It's been over 2 years of using Sendgrid for many things within the marketing team. The code editor allows for effective e-mail marketing campaigns. SendGrid has tons of useful e-mail templates.

Cons

SendGrid doesn't have an intuitive GUI to edit like MailChimp. To make a custom e-mail marketing campaign you must know how to code.

Pros

SendGrid was our SMTP provider for transactional emails. Using the APIs, the platform can be easily integrated with the backend system and the service can be used right away. Pricing is very attractive and can be integrated with various marketing automation platforms.

Cons

Mails start reaching SPAM box after some time and there is no clear way to analyse how many email are reaching to inbox. Domain and Ip reputation cannot be tracked on this platform.

Pros

SendGrid offers secure and certified email deliverability for my business professional email and email marketing needs. I have tested this and SendGrid SMTP relay service is accurate, and the email delivery certified to recipients' main inboxes.

Cons

There are no cons with SendGrid. Just awareness for beginner IT specislists or software developers that they should hace at least the basic skills related to API's and mail server PHP settings.

Pretty good as an SMTP server.

Pros

Easily integrates with a lot of other email marketing software, quite easy to set up, improves email deliverability.

Cons

The menu could be more straightforward. It also has a bug that the support team says they know about but don't fix for some reason, even though it seems to me like it's very easy to fix: when you're approaching your sending threshold for one day, SendGrid sends you alert messages saying that you've used up over 95% of your 'MONTHLY' sending limit even though it's only 'DAILY' sending limit. When it first happened to me, I got very confused and contacted the support that they told me they know about it. All that's needed is to change one word. Don't get confused as I did.

Overall, the experience was solid. Price and customer service were great. Unfortunately, the spam and email block issue was a deal breaker.

Pros

The pricing is great. Easy to use API with lots of documentations. Their user interface is straightforward. The customer service has always been pretty quick to get back to me. It's a popular service with a lot of integrations available.

Cons

I was a happy user of Sendgrid for a long time, but emails sent with the service always went to the spam folder for Microsoft email services (Outlook, Hotmail, MSN). This could never seem to get resolved, even with a dedicated IP that they offered. Then recently, Microsoft started blocking the emails. I found out this was because a spammer had used their service and got the shared IP blacklisted. They were unable to help me resolve it swiftly, so I had to leave the service, because we have a lot of people who use Microsoft email services.

Cons

Improving Sendgrid's User Experience While Sendgrid is a decent email service provider, it could offer a more intuitive user interface. Additionally, template management could be improved to make it easier to connect with others. Compared to its competitors, Sendgrid's editor could also use some work to make it more user-friendly.

We send approximately 300K emails per month and Sendgrid made this job very easy for us. I strongly recommend this software.

Pros

We needed an email server provider for our web application and my friend recommended me Sendgrid 3 years ago. We are still using it without any problem. Our Pro 300K plan gives us a clean, dedicated IP address so our automatic emails don't end up in Spam folders. You can observe the email's journey and get various analytics on how many emails are delivered, how many people have opened, how many clicks etc. Our marketing team also started to use Sendgrid to send newsletters. It is very easy to manage contact lists and subscriptions. Customer support is great. They helped a lot whenever we have a question or problem. API documentation is clean and thorough.

Cons

Website menu structure is a bit complicated and left menu fonts are faded. It is hard to read the menu elements. It's color should be darker.

Pros

Customer support can improve significantly (didn’t reply to my ticket for more than 2 months, I had to approach the sales department for making sure my ticket is reviewed)

### "Decent SMPT Service but poor integration with MS Azure"

I've been using this for several years via Azure marketplace. When I tried to login to the SendGrid website, it forced me to sign-up for 2-factor authentication. That's fair. I appreciate the added security. However, instead of sending the verification code to me, they sent it to some mailbox at Azure that I don't have access to. Therefore, I was unable to log in. I contacted SendGrid support but they told me I had to take it up with Azure. It was easier for me just to replace the service with a new vendor.

Pros

The free version offered via Azure is OK for low-volume applications. You can send emails via the API without being restricted to a specific domain.

Cons

API updates resulted in breaking changes that required me to re-write my code. Authentication schema changes (2FA) created major headaches. It got to the point where I could no longer log in to the SendGrid website to administer my account.

We implemented it 5 years ago for all our Product emails and it has always worked well. We manage 100+ different emails templates and all is easily manageable in their interface.

Pros

Easy to implement, easy to create emails templates and has lots of abilities for the pricing they offer.

Cons

The reporting, especially the unique clicks and unique opens is not accurate. They count it per unique device open instead of actual email open which is a bit annoying to track accuratly.

As a developer, I have used it to integrate with the app I was building for feedback of users and SendGrid played a huge role in that. They have a nice dashboard that shows all the marketing and email data and they also have some cool settings for the developers to make it connected with their own website. Overall I would say Its very nice software You could be taking into consideration when it comes to marketing emails to your customers or clients.

Pros

They have some awesome features that make it standstill among other software such as you can send the same marketing or feedback email to all the clients in that database and record the response through it to see what customers are thinking about your product. It's also good for developers to integrate with a website as it has very nice and clean API documentation which allows developers to use it across their website.

Cons

Some of the features from development are very hard to understand and integrate to the website. A person with zero knowledge of this software has to go through the documentation to see what's happening. Also, in the free plan, they give very few free email transactions which can be increased to make it more popular and small businesses can use it without any cost but again pricing and features are their choice.

We are fully satisfied with Sendgrid. We use it in our systems and we also recommend it to our customers.

Pros

The most striking feature for us is its easy integration with our NodeJS systems. The API is very versatile and allows us to do everything we need for our work.

Cons

Recently acquired by Twilio, Sendgrid is not a new tool and this is reflected in some aspects such as the control panel, which requires some effort for initial configuration and can be improved. But other than that, it works perfectly.

Cons

Currently we are extremely frustrated and disappointed with both the support and the product itself. I would leave tomorrow if we could.

Pros

Originally it gave us full visibility into our emails and helped us get much better tracking on who was receiving what and when. Important to know emails had been delivered as we deal with large numbers of payslips and emails for our clients.

Cons

Recently there's been a change with their new API which has been nothing short of woeful. We've had multiple clients either having emails not sent (where did they go?) or sending emails twice because they are getting incorrect feedback that the email hasn't been sent. (delivery report being wrong). This has been for invoices and payslips which are highly sensitive information to be missing or duplicated. It's made us look like fools repeatedly and our clients are furious. Sendgrid literally has one function which is to send emails and it's failing to do that accurately. The response for help in these scenarios has been non-existent at best and negligent at worst despite having been a client for over a year. We haven't had a response to urgent requests for over 4 days and our clients are furious.

Reason for choosing SendGrid

Because it was the biggest in the market and meant to be the most reliable.

In the beginning (some 8 years ago) when we started using it, it was actually good. Both pricing wise and everything else. Last time we used it (around 4 years ago) we stopped using because of what I mentioned

Pros

I do appreciate the fact that their documentation is fairly simple to understand and it's complete. Their options are also good and their system does work

Cons

The biggest problem and what made me and my customers using it, stop using, was the fact that they do not filter their IP addresses (even for PAID accounts as I was). The argument from their support at that time was that they cannot control what IP addresses the system associates to each customer and so they couldn't do anything about it. This was, at that time, very serious because we ALWAYS tried to keep a clean mailing list and we started to have bad reputation just because a bad IP address was suddenly associated to our sendings. Price compared to other suppliers for similar functionalities (such as Amazon SES) is also not as good.

I am benefiting by using Send Grid for sending email alerts to the users of our applications via email for their preferred choices of information. The overall experience with Send Grid is great in technicalities and features however seeks improvement in response time by customer services.

Pros

A free plan is the most attractive thing they offer. Their free plan is for life long tenure. It is easy to integrate the Send Grid with almost any software. It offers a choice to integrate using their API or connect through SMTP. Their dashboard and reports are very detailed.

Cons

It seeks improvement in multiple areas like customer services, business intelligence and error messages. There user interface also confuses sometime.
