Pros

I like the client outreach with emails and promo codes. I like the ease of making a prescription and having it emailed to the client.

Cons

I do not like that there is no alert or notification when a client purchases the recommended prescription. It is a huge time suck to have someone go through and try to find all of the active prescriptions to be able to reflect it correctly in the patient record.

Easy to approve rx for clients. Nothing else to say here.

Cons

Doesn’t communicate to us when rx need to be approved. Hard to tell what is in stock when quoting prices. Lots of backorders or unavailable products

Its easy to use, but costs more than other online pharmacys unless you reduce veterinarian's profit to very little. It is a great convenience to clients but not a way to build much profit to your practice.

Working for NVA, Covetrus is our preferred medication partner and I have worked with them for over 4 years. Thwir new website layout was initially confusing but they were quick to schedule calls with staff to teach us.

Pros

Support is easy to get ahold of if you have questions, wide variety of food and medications and compounding capabilities. Integrates well with hospital website

Overall I like the portal, but it definitely needs more polish.

Pros

I like that I have the ability to snooze renewals. Also, the feature that allows me to add notes to each request is great. For the most part, everything is very self-explanatory in terms of how the portal functions and how to write or approve a script.

Cons

I absolutely despise that now if I work in a window that is not full screen I have to scroll over to the right to see the authorize button. You are limiting my flow significantly with this update and I hate it. It is also too difficult to figure out at a glance if an order is auto-ship generated or something the owner requested on their own. I have to dig for this info, and it should be clear and obvious. Sometimes I'm unable to figure it out no matter how much I dig. Also, the portal has to be refreshed often for changes to take effect. If I remove a renewal it will stay in there until I hit the refresh button. If I approve an order the numerical bubble on my home screen will still say I have the same number of requests as before until I press the refresh button.

Very poor- no communication between VRXPro and veterinarians

Not much. Cant think of anything positive to say about it.

Cons

Difficult to change platforms. We have had clients ordering Rx and we are not receiving any notificatiion to approve. One of my clients ordered Nexgard on July 26, 2024 and is still waiting for it. We , as vets didnt get any notification that our clients had ordered anything. When I went onto approve the script, I found 2 other requests that we didnt know about.

I would say my overall experience is unfavorable. The problem is that this is the best there is to offer out there at the moment and its not that great because its still in the baby phases of being created. I wish when we called in with function recommendations that they would actually be listened to or maybe even a weekly/monthly update on things that are being worked on to make it better.

Pros

I understand how to fix it more than any other EMR system.

Cons

Avimark - HUB Varience/Return glitches for putting things back into inventory/ Not being able to change expiration until the previous bottle is sold. All of the dumb requisition glitches. Theres a lot of problems with Avimark.VFC - auto renewals, $$$$, flavoring with many meds, I want everything unlocked - theres nothing I hate more than calling customer service and telling them that things are possible and they say they are not then getting a call back from someone that knows its possible and saying we can do that. Just unlock everything for your customers, stop holding back options.

Mostly, I love Covetrus. I do wish there was better communication between Covetrus and the compounding pharmacy. I like that we can place orders for compounded medications through Covetrus. It seems like there is a breakdown in communication when a product is not available or is on backorder. I would like to be kept in the loop along with the client about their pet's medications. We are the ones they will call in frustration when a medication is not available.

Pros

We like to give our clients a safe alternative for their pet's online pharmacy needs. With so many other pharmacies popping up, we know we can trust Covetrus. The software integrates into our veterinary software and we can see all of the prescriptions that are sent to our patients.

Cons

I do wish there was a way to combine duplicate accounts. Often times, a client will have multiple accounts in error because the spouse originally signed up, email addresses change, forgot they had an account already, or just sign up for another account because they are unable to recover previous log in information.

Reason for choosing Covetrus vRxPro

At the time, Covetrus was the only one that would integrate with Cornerstone software. I understand there are other companies to choose from now.

I have been impressed with this software from day 1. I hope that the little concerns I have will be addressed in the future.

Pros

Having an online prescription option for our clients that is also connected with our hospital software is probably the best feature for this program. The program is very user friendly, and easily managed, once you get all the training

Cons

The one feature that is still missing is being able to do multiple prescriptions for one patient in one application. Currently we have to input one at a time and, therefore the client receives multiple emails to inform them a product is available for them. This is very confusing and frustrating for the client.

Covetrus and the customer service are wonderful

Pros

I love that clients are assured that the products are legitimate and do not have to worry that they are getting fraudulent medications. It is easy to navigate for us in clinic and for clients. I like that we can help clients with their accounts if needed.

Cons

I do not like that we can not change/update the doctor on prescription requests before approving/declining. There are often times were a client will choose the wrong doctor when requesting medication and then that doctor will not know the request is for them. It can get confusing. It would also be nice if auto-ship prescription requests were a different color. Like when a client has a product on autoship and we have declined it every month for 4 months. It would be nice to know if it were on autoship or if the owner really is asking for it every month. If we could catch it at the beginning we would waste less time on researching if the prescription can be approved.
