We are so happy with this service! It pays for itself in eliminating staff data entry and allows us so many options to make scheduling easy for our clients. Our clients often say how impressed they are with how easy it is for them to use and it makes us look good :)

Pros

It provides our staff time to focus on our patients by effectively providing a large variety of time consuming tasks. We do all of our reminders, confirmations, text messaging, online prescriptions through this software and it imports into each client file automatically so no manual entry needed.

Cons

Nothing, it has been wonderful! The service has not had any failures at all since we have used it and we have been using it for a couple years now. It is always dependable.

Overall, we have been very happy with this service. Customer Service experiences have been very good on our end. There really haven't been any bad experiences on our end.

Pros

Ease of use. It's pretty easy to navigate

Cons

Not having integration with our practice management system. It would be great if we could prescribe from our PIMS and the record be updated upon order completion.

The approval process seems to be very streamline and easy to use.

Pros

I like that fact that it is a place where clients can shop online for prescriptions and it cuts down on the number of written prescriptions that we have do to. It also makes it easier to keep track of what medications patients are on.

Cons

It seems to be confusing to some of our clients, resulting in us having to take the time to walk them step by step how to use the website.

I have been extremely happy with Covetrus. I have been using them since they were Proxy RX.

Pros

The ease to add clients, and their pets, as well as setting up a prescription request. We also have clients that don't use computers, so I like being able to act as them to submit their rx requests.

Cons

The page where all of the pending orders just sit there. You should have a pending file to put all the pending authorizations into instead of them staying on the main page of the application.

Reason for choosing Covetrus vRxPro

WE were using Proxy rx, and then also using Road runner pharmacy for our compounding medications. Both were merged into Covetrus, so we stayed with covetrus.

We are utilizing the program more and more as our hospital cannot carry all the prescriptions in our inhouse pharmacy and the convenience of letting our clients shop on our professional online store with the safety and guarantee of the product is important to us.

Pros

Most impactful is implementing the Rx in the client / patient file. Aso the availability of compounded medications has been a tremendous help.

Cons

It would have been helpful if an in-person meeting was done in the beginning of implementing the program to help utilize how it worked so we could be more proficient and offered it to more clients from the starting point.

### "It makes online prescriptions easier"

Pros

The top features I like about this software are the availability to integrate into our computer software and keep track of scripts so we aren't having to do the same thing twice. The way you can delegate that you have already seen this script and then name the reason we are waiting and not filling right away. That cuts out another user doing the same work that was already done. And people want to order their meds online, and have them automatically shipped, I think with Covetrus it keeps us more in the loop with owner compliance and tracking what they received or haven't reordered.

Cons

I can't think of any issues I've had or things I thought needed to be different.

The Covetrus team is friendly and easy to work with.

Pros

We love that it integrates with Cornerstone. When a client requests/fills a prescription we are able to see when it shipped and quantity. We don't have to check records and then enter data

Cons

It is difficult to stop a refill prescription that should not be sent due to different reasons (not valid VCPR). It seems that once a client has it on auto ship it continues to ship unless it is called into Covetrus.

They offer communication vehicles to make Rx management easier and less expensive for your clients and the integration with our software is a must-have.

Pros

The integration with Cormerstone was the primary reason we started using Covetrus; excellent customer service is why we stayed

Cons

Periodically there are hiccups with orders and renewals, but customer service always makes things right. I think that's all you can ask for from a business partner

### "Online RX "

It is over all easy to use. I have an employee that could not use a computer and is now comfortable with this program. Personally, I do not like the way fees are processed. Too many transactions in our bank account. Seems like it is done to create some confusion so that we may miss something and be overcharged.

Pros

Easy to navigate. Quick to chose different options when approving an RX

Cons

That you can not put an RX "ON HOLD". For example, if a pet is due for a heartworm test and the owner wants to purchase a 12 pack of Heartguard +, we call that owner to update them and schedule an appointment. Once they come in we then approve the RX. To decline the medication takes much longer and is double work for the pet owner and us. Ideally we would like a HOLD button or area where we can add a note / pop-up as to what we are waiting for , that way we do not forget and have to open the chart to check, and if another employee is checking the list they can see what is happening.

### "Platform is not user friendly."

Our practice needs hands on training to best utilize this product. None was offered aside from some online tutorials.

Pros

The ability for clients to order product online to be delivered is critical.

Cons

I do not find the platform to be user friendly or intuitive. As the manager who drove the change from our original online pharmacy to covetrus, I'd like to be happier with my decision.

In the description, it really seemed like an apples to apples changeover. Since we are an Avimark clinic, we thought the use of the Covetrus product would mesh better with our platform.

### "Keep those prescription dollars in your clinic!"

Using Covetrus is especially nice for the products we don't want to carry in clinic. We can tell our clients that they can see their doctors recommendations and easily have them delivered straight to their home. It's an easy and effective way to prescribe and fulfill.

Pros

Being able to write the prescription and have it write back into Avimark is such a time saver! Also reduces opportunity for input error. Clients love the ease of ordering and home delivery. Letting clients know that the product can be trusted and is backed the same as if they purchased directly in clinic.

Cons

The only con is that it does not auto refresh when you return to the home page. If another request has come in, you would only know if you refresh the website.

Pros

I like that I can send the correct prescriptions to clients to order and have shipped to their house so they do not need to come to the clinic to pick them up. This saves my staff's time and also decreases the amount of product we need to have on the shelf. I am also able to keep a record of all active prescriptions for a patient in the medical record which does not occur with other websites such as chewy.com. Customer service has also been very friendly and helpful when we have had an issue

Cons

I do not have much interaction with the business integration side of things etc and do not use all components of it as much as the CSRs but have had no issues so far. I have had some clients say that shutting off the autoship is difficult to figure out for the less tech savvy

Very good service overall, main issue is that most orders are not returnable.

Pros

Very easy to use. You will receive an email informing you that you have an order pending. You will access your online store page and approve or decline the order. Once an account has been linked to your practice management software, your client's account will reflect the transaction.

Cons

They are not available 24/7, if you have any questions, you have to wait until they are available.

I have personally used them for many years since they originally started as FetchDog, VetsFirstChoice, and now Covetrus!

It has been working well however I feel our clients get TOO many emails from you and that stops them for reading ones we need to send out. The emails often confuse them since it looks like it comes from us so they want to use your promos in our office or call us with prescription questions instead of you direct.

Pros

We like the reminder system and the texting features. It has been great that you can change reminders to very early on since we are booking so far out now.

Cons

Silly to say but wish we had updated or more pictures to use for the post cards or to add to the emails to catch clients attention more

Overall the experience is fine. It doesn't wow me with features but it does what it is supposed to do.

Pros

Once implemented it is easy to use and navigate. It also communicates automatically with our EMR ensuring patient records are always up to date with less workload on the CSRs.

Cons

Customer service is not as streamlined or supportive as the Covetrus Pulse team. It is more difficult to get a hold of someone and get answers. It was also frustrating that there was no communication between teams, for example a Pulse team member couldn't connect me with a Prescription Management Team member.

### "Why aren't you utilizing this software?"

Prescription management Software is a no brainer. Most efficient way to document meds requested and approved. Quick to check directions as well as approval for meds requested.

Pros

We love the simplicity of use with this software. Our prescription compliance has improved since starting with this prescription software. It is convenient and saves staff costs because we aren't paying our team to fill meds, we can focus on patient care instead of counting pills all day every day. This software also allows us to send Rx reminders monthly, autoship monthly for heartworm and flea/tick compliance.

Cons

It is rare but sometimes items will be on backorder and clients cannot order their meds through VFC so I will need to special order their meds when I do my inventory ordering for the hospital.

### "Love the functionality of the software, only one complaint"

This gave us an option for clients who wanted to save money by purchasing online. Clients can save, but we know that they are still getting a safe product and the manufacturer's guarantee. Plus it allowed us to carry less inventory in the office, while still being able to offer all of the different preventions that are available.

Pros

The clear and easy functionality of the software is the best part. I can show a new user how to access and utilize the system very easily and it's pretty much a self-explanatory step by step process. The store is laid out well and clients are able to find products easily.

Cons

Our only complaint has been with the customer service phone center having extremely long hold times. Multiple times clients have complained to us that they can't get through to the phone center. Personally, I've been on hold for over 45 minutes waiting for someone to answer. The staff are almost always extremely polite and helpful, just the wait times are horrendous.
