Encryption is well setup and provides an easy way to know if and when you've successfully securely transferred the file. Cons Pricing. The switch to a subscription model is absolutely insane pricing. Before it was a chunk and maintenance now it's one big chunk all the time. Admin controls could be easier to implement. Licensing felt a bit draconian. Having to license for external users at different companies was painful. Couldn't just send a file. The person had to create an account on your system which counted against your license. Pros Prior to this, we used FTP for file transfers. We had no logs and means to track transfers. Thanks to Secure File Transfer, our users can send and receive files and we have logs of all communication between our users and their clients. Cons Nothing. There was an issue with slow login that affected us which was remediated in a subsequent version of SFT. Performance has improved greatly since the fix. It's one of the few applications that we have that pretty much maintains itself. Cons We're running the appliance and there are a few things that we have to do at the OS level, such as adding network routes or updating the SSL cert, that I wish we had to ability to do through the GUI instead.
