Overall a positive experiencing to help facilitate connections for being a mentor as well as finding a mentor. 10KC's ability to match you with appropriate mentorship opportunities is my favourite feature and what has been most helpful. Also really like the fact that 10KC is specifically a social networking platform for cultivating mentorships whereas no other platforms (even LinkedIn) offer a similar service.

Pros

My favourite feature of 10KC is that it is a networking program focus on mentoring that can help to match you with beneficial connections from both a mentor and mentee perspective.

Cons

Cultivating connections and mentorship relationships was not as effortless and streamlined as hoped but that could have also been specific to the institution I was a part of and using 10KC with.

Pros

The platform is easy to navigate, data is thorough and readily accessible, and the team is highly collaborative and supportive. Leveraging 10KC has made it possible for us to scale and manage our enterprise-wide mentorship and networking program that would otherwise require a full team to manually develop, implement, support and manage. The content that 10KC provides is also incredibly helpful and can be curated to support our program goals without the heavy lift of developing all development content to guide participants.

Cons

The technology automates messages and reminders to participants - which I LOVE - but I wish we could customize the messages' "sender" information so that it appears to come from someone within our organization. I think it would help employees make a faster connection when they receive communications and would reinforce our internal branding.

Reasons for choosing Ten Thousand Coffees (10KC)

Noted "internal" as we'd previously supported a program via internal teams. I cannot disclose the other vendors we considered in the search for an external platform partner however, I can share that 10KC offered the most comprehensive platform that actually addressed our needs as an organization and made it simply to deploy a traditional mentorship program. Other tools we considered had more non-traditional approaches to mentorship and/or employee development that did not directly address the needs of our employee base.

10KC is a great starter platform for organizations to drive connections, be it through coffee matches or mentor-mentee matching.

Pros

10KC made it easy to facilitate introductions and connections amongst employees. Around 10-15% of our employees signed up for the program. It helped the organization feel more connected and facilitated collaboration across teams/locations.

Cons

We were not able to deploy this in China due to the data privacy issues.

I think there is immediate value in this partnership, as they do handle a lot of the heavy lifting. We are still under a year in partnering but so far we've only had positive interactions with the support team. \[sensitive content hidden\] especially has been absolutely incredible to work with!!

Pros

Their customer service is really top notch, they are there every step of the way to answer your questions and problem solve with you.

Cons

Implementing a new system to a company is always going to come with growing pains because it's a behavioral change so we have been navigating getting users accustomed to the 10KC platform. However, it is helpful they are able to integrate the communication softwares we utilize.

Setting up events is simple and efficient. Being able to ask questions in advance and have them sent to the organiser so they can prep beforehand is key.

Cons

MS Teams not being linked so you have to create an invite and copy and paste the link into 10KC. It takes away from the efficient experience

Pros

The ease of setting up Office Hours with quick templates that can be customized for your events, allowing you to reduce the amount of admin you have been doing and focus on the event itself. Your participants get a quick look at what the event is, can register, submit questions if needed and get an automated calendar invite which is key to the event success and more reasons why you are spending less time on these administrative tasks previously done by hand rather than automated with the Ten Thousand Coffees platform.

Cons

The calendar sync coming soon is highly anticipated!
