### "Great but stingy "

May 29, 2026

4.0

Very good to sync data effortlessly with all my devices, MacBook, iPad and iPhone. Its saved me a couple occasions whilst in a meeting I left a file on my MacBook that I wanted to share with a client, fortunately it was on my iCloud and I could access it no problem.

Pros

The ease of use, that it works across all my devices with pretty much no set up, perfectly ideal for my business.

Cons

Compared to other cloud based services you really don't get much for your money in terms of storage. The likes of Amazon, Microsoft and Google surpass iCloud by a country mile.

Alternatives considered

[OneDrive](https://www.capterra.com/p/161304/OneDrive/)[Google Drive](https://www.capterra.com/p/161425/Drive/)

Reason for choosing iCloud

Built into both iOS and MacOS so its almost a no brainer to use it.

### "Automatic Backup"

June 17, 2026

3.0

Pros

The backup and synchronization of data are very interesting compared to Google Drive. To secure your files and find them easily, it is one of the best software.

Cons

The free storage is very limited, which quickly forces you to pay. It works mainly within the Apple ecosystem, so it is not very practical with other devices.

### "iCloud - Your File Management Solution"

May 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, I have had an excellent experience with iCloud, especially when it comes to customer support.

Pros

iCloud provides seamless file sharing and management integration between Apple devices making it very simple to use. At its low price point it is an excellent file management solution.

Cons

The thing I liked least about iCloud is that there is at times bugs and issues with files missing. There also can be a learning curve for those not familiar with the Apple ecosystem of products.

### "1A Reliable Way to Keep My Memories and Files Safe"

July 5, 2026

5.0

Overall, I've had a great experience using iCloud. It has become my go-to backup solution for important photos, documents, and personal files. I appreciate not having to worry about losing my data if I change or reset my phone. The service is reliable, easy to use, and integrates perfectly with Apple devices. While the free storage could be more generous, the convenience and peace of mind make iCloud worth using.

Pros

iCloud has been one of the easiest cloud storage services I've used. Since my first smartphone was an iPhone, it has automatically backed up my photos, documents, contacts, and notes without much effort. Some of my favorite memories, including childhood photos of my niece and pictures from trips with my husband, are safely stored in iCloud. File sharing is simple, and restoring my data when switching devices has always been smooth. The learning curve is minimal because everything works seamlessly in the background.

Cons

1The biggest drawback is the limited free storage, which fills up quickly if you take lots of photos and videos. I also wish storage management and pricing were a bit more flexible for users who only need a small amount of extra space.

### "Reliable Cloud Storage with Easy File Management and Sharing"

June 7, 2026

5.0

The learning curve is low, making it easy to store and access files across devices. It offers good value for money for users who need extra storage and reliable backups. Customer support is generally helpful when problems arise. The file sharing and file management features make it simple to organize and collaborate on documents. While there are occasional bugs and issues, they are usually resolved quickly. Although digital signatures are not a primary feature of iCloud, it works well with apps that support document signing.

Pros

What I like most is it’s automatic syncing and backup. It keeps my photos, files, and contacts updated across all my devices without any extra work.

Cons

There aren’t any cons that I’ve noticed since I have started using iCloud and I’ve used it for about 10 years.

### "Great if you're all in on Apple, limited everywhere else "

June 19, 2026

4.0

chrome icon google docs icon iCloud is fine for what it is, but in our setup it's really just something we support on the periphery for people with iPhones or Macs rather than anything we lean on organizationally. It's not a tool we'd build workflows around given how Microsoft centric our environment is, but for individual use it does its job without a lot of complaints. Would probably rate it higher if we were an Apple first shop.

Pros

or staff who are on Apple devices, iCloud just works the way you'd expect. Photos, contacts, and files stay in sync without any real effort on their end, which is nice from an IT support perspective because it's one less thing people call about. The file sharing through iCloud Drive has gotten a lot more functional over the last couple of years and for personal document access it's genuinely smooth. If you're fully in the Apple ecosystem it's probably one of the more seamless cloud storage experiences out there.

Cons

chrome icon google docs icon In a mostly Windows and Microsoft 365 environment it sticks out like a sore thumb. iCloud for Windows has historically been clunky and we've had to troubleshoot it more than once when it conflicts with OneDrive or causes weird sync behavior. It's also not something you'd ever consider as a primary file management solution for a team, it really is built around individual Apple users rather than any kind of collaborative or organizational workflow. Cross-platform file sharing works but it always feels like an afterthought compared to how it behaves natively on a Mac.

### "iCloud review "

July 13, 2026

5.0

iCloud is an excellent cloud storage and backup service for Apple users. Its automatic syncing, reliable backups, and security make it one of the easiest ways to keep your data safe and accessible across devices. The main drawback is the limited free storage, but for many users, upgrading to iCloud+ is worth the convenience and extra features.

Pros

What I like most: •Automatically backs up photos, videos, contacts, and important files. •Seamlessly syncs across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and even Windows. •Easy to use with no complicated setup. •Strong security features, including encryption and two-factor authentication.

Cons

What I like least: •The free 5 GB storage fills up quickly, especially with photos and backups. •Works best within the Apple ecosystem and offers fewer benefits for Android users. •Storage upgrades require a monthly subscription.

### "Reliable, secure and robust"

June 26, 2026

4.0

Been using it for many years for photo and file management. Stable, reliable, fast and simple to use. Never had to reach out to customer support.

Pros

iCloud offers excellent value for money in terms of the amount of storage and the features that it provides. As with most Apple products, there is a minimal learning curve and it rarely has bugs.

Cons

The iCloud experience on Windows / via the browser is fairly poor. The experience across different devices should be seamless.

### "Decent file sharing alternative"

June 15, 2026

4.0

Overall my experience was good as long as everyone stayed in the Apple world. Sharing files and folders between my own devices was smooth and I never really had to think about it. The main downside is it dosent play nice with non-Apple devices and the free storage is pretty small, but for an all Apple setup it works great.

Pros

The best part was how easy it is to share stuff between my own devices. I could start a file on my iPhone and then open it right up on my Mac or iPad without doing anything extra. File management or sharing a folder with someone else is simple too, you just send them access and they can see or edit the files with you.

Cons

The thing I liked least was sharing with people who dont have Apple stuff (probably the obvious one). It works great if everyone is on iPhones and Macs, but the minute someone has a Windows computer or an Android phone it gets clunky. You also only get 5GB free wich runs out super fast, so you kinda have to pay if you want to share alot of big files.

### "A Digital Blessing from Above"

March 10, 2026

5.0

Overall I think iCloud is a very valuable and extremely useful platform and service. It's very intuitive and easy to learn and use from the start.

Pros

Apple's iCloud is an incredible platform and I use it throughout the day every single day. I really love and appreciate that all my data and files are safe, secure, and easily accessible.

Cons

iCloud has very limited storage and regularly really encourages the user to upgrade and purchase more terabytes of storage space. It very much feels necessary since the initial free storage offered fills up fast.

### "Solid, reliable but a tiny bit outdated."

April 16, 2026

5.0

I would say that for over a decade I was very happy with iCloud but in the last few years I have migrated away to other platforms. Ones that offer full end to end encryption and are not locked into one ecosystem. I still have my iCloud account, still pay the small monthly fee but I am in the process of moving my email account and folders to different platforms.

Pros

The simplicity of using iCloud is its most positive feature; very easily synchronises with all Apple devices and allows simple organising of files and folders. It also comes with the Apple reputational badge so you know it has been rigorously tested and is going to be super reliable. I have been using iCloud for nearly 15 years and I have never experienced a single bug issue or even an error message. And that is across all platforms. The price (a rolling monthly subscription) is fair and has never been hike dup out of the blue. Solid, reliable, dependable would be my descriptors for iCloud.

Cons

This is going to be such an oft-repeated grumble as to maybe dip into the realms of cliche but I’m going to go there anyway; Apple’s walled garden ecosystem makes sharing, integrating and working alongside other platforms a troublesome business. It always feels, and this is just a personal feeling, that Apple will put up as many barriers as possible to make this process annoying enough that you continue to reside in their (heavily) garden. An example; if I want to share a file stored on iCloud, through my iPad I am only given DropBox as a sharing option. It takes a multitude of clicks and questions before I can share with my Proton Drive account. That all feels a little bit 2014.

### "Satisfied cloud user "

April 20, 2026

5.0

All positive! Never had any issues with iCloud before and I will continue to use this as long as I can.

Pros

I love the way that I can easily store my information and share my files that I have saved and know that they are secure. It was not a learning curve at all. Since I got a phone I’ve always used Apple and I will continue to be a portal customer. I’ve never had any bugs or issues with this application. I’ve never had to reach out to customer support. I love that I can easily add my signature digitally without needing any paper. We pay for the family iCloud storage and the price for what we get is extraordinary! Love

Cons

I don’t have any concerns except it would be nice if it was a bit easier to share the storage with my family. It’s a bit complicated but I believe we have it figured out now.

Pros

I love Iclouds ease of use and versatility for what you can store there. I specially use icloud to declutter my phone from photos and videos

Cons

### "Average for standard jobs, difficult for agency jobs."

May 22, 2026

5.0

We utilize it because it's preloaded on our Apple products, not because it's the best. Limited storage and cumbersome sharing cause a dip in productivity for a small agency that's mostly operating in the digital realm. If you're all-Apple all the time, works! Otherwise, you will be forced to work around all the time.

Pros

For personal use the 5GB free tier is good. Syncing my iPhone to Macbook is quite dependable, site visit photos appear on my Mac within minutes of taking them. The shared folders feature works well if you're coordinating campaign assets with freelancers, but we've been more successful with other platforms when we have to do more intensive collaboration.

Cons

Versioning can be a pain with presentations that are being edited by a number of people. Last month I lost 3 hours worth of changes to my deck due to someone's changes overwriting my deck. The web interface is as dated as 2015 and I don't even want to talk about sharing large video files with Windows clients.

April 4, 2026

Overall it is neutral, it comes built in with the devices I have. I utilize googles cloud for more photo storage.

Pros

The storage capacity for the safety of transferring information from phone to new phone. It is good for storing old files to access afterwards.

Cons

The cost associated with it, the Google software’s more affordable and universal on the internet. I am not able to easily access on my browser.

My overall experience with iCloud has been great. I been a iPhone user & iCloud always has my back. Whether I need my files, or photos or apps, iCloud has your back!

Pros

I enjoy its deep integration with Apple devices. It automatically syncs photos, files, messages & backups across iPhones, iPads & MacBooks. iCloud makes the Apple ecosystem feel seamless, consistent & reliable

Cons

Not much, but maybe just its limitations outside of apple devices. Would be nice if more things would be compatible with iCloud or apple devices in general.

### "Necessary for apple users, yet a neverending frivolous task "

May 17, 2026

3.0

Overall, iCloud is useful and somewhat essential for Apple users, but it’s far from seamless. The main cons for me and many, syncing inconsistencies and limited storage, make it feel more frustrating than it should be and seem to worsen over time.

Pros

iCloud is nearly unavoidable if you’re an Apple user, and it does make being one easier in a lot of ways. I like being able to access my notes, photos, and other data across all of my Apple devices, especially since I use several on a daily basis (iPad, Macbook, watch). iCloud Keychain has also been incredibly helpful for managing passwords, it’s one of if not the most useful features to me. Automatic backups are another plus.

Cons

iCloud seems to prove more frustrating and inconsistent with time. Still, when setting up new devices from backup, old photos/contacts/messages reappear as annoying clutter. Storage is still a major downside. I don't know anyone personally with a family under iCloud that does not pay for additional storage. Seems like you are even more, now, being pushed into paying for extra room, what should be a given. Constantly managing storage and deciding if memories and important docs are worth extra monthly payment is super annoying as a brand-loyal apple user.
