DeKalb's use of Blitz is so great that our migration to the cloud is dependent on the availability of Blitz. I see no reason why a company would not take advantage of the free download and just give Blitz a test run. My money is on you purchase it!! Pros First of all the cost of this product is so inexpensive I could order it with my level of buying authority! Second the ease of use! Within 2 hours of installing Blitz I was up creating documents. The security of Blitz is regular Oracle Applications security. The community of Blitz Users have produced many reports that are available for download for FREE. Blitz has more functionality than just reporting, albeit I do not utilize its capabilities. Cons I have zero complaints about Blitz. This survey is making me enter a complain...sooooo let's go with not a separate manual for the end end user that shows only how to run the report. FYI Enginatics sent me thier WORD version of the User guide and all I needed to do is cut out the sections I did not want to use for the END USER. I was also excited to find out how easy it is to set the reports up to publish directly to a network drive, making it very easy to schedule recurring reports and then combining them using Power BI into easy to use dashboards. After making the decision to switch to Blitz reports based on the superior functionality for financial reporting, our functional users started using the available reports for other Oracle modules. This ended up being the biggest benefit for our company as our users were finally able to get Oracle reports that were easy to read and analyze. This also expanded our use of Power BI dashboards given the ease of publishing the Excel files directly to a network folder in a ready to use format. Overall the switch to using Blitz reports has been a huge benefit for our company, with every functional area having benefitted from this product. Pros When I first tried Blitz I was amazed at how much faster I could extract the same amount of information, as the same account information in Blitz could be extracted 4 to 5 times as fast as a GL wand drill down. Very pleased I stumbled upon this when I was doing research for tools to replace Discoverer and Sql Server Reports. Pros We like the integregration right into Oracle EBS, the simplified pricing, speed of development, and the ability to review and use canned reports. For reports that don't need to be pretty but need to be fast, this is an excellent tool. Their support has been excellent, very quick reponses with good knowledge of their report tool and the Oracle functions and processes. Cons Not a con per se...but this is \*not\* a report tool to make polished and pretty reports to be sent to external parties. Knowing that customer service is available at any time and that they will research and assist until any issue is resolved. Pros Blitz was unbelievable easy to implement. Customer Service has been amazing. I logged a support ticket late on a Friday and still received a phone call back that same day. It was 11 pm in Switzerland, but that didn't matter! The problem was resolved! The Blitz Team is passionate about their product and it shows. Pros We were heavily dependent on Discoverer and needed a tool to fill that gap. We implemented OBIEE, but users still needed operational reporting. The need for large data extracts, into Excel, was always going to be required. We needed a tool to make it easier for people to extract data into a spreadsheet, without having to learn SQL. We really appreciate the catalog and version control capabilities in Blitz. Users can run reports without leaving the Oracle EBS. We don't allow users to modify the queries themselves. Some shops might like that, but we control the queries that run in Production. (We develop in DEV, test in UAT and migrate to PROD. Export/Import makes this it very easy to migrate from one instance to another.) Cons There is no down side to this product. Reasons for choosing Blitz Report Ease of implementation! Easy to integrate into current processes. Easy to learn. Did not come with a lot of other tools that we didn't need. We had already implemented the entire OBIEE suite. We didn't want another BI tool. We needed Blitz Report! Pros We started using Blitz years ago to retrieve high volume data quickly. During this process we also learned one time reports or queries run by analyst to support day to day exceptions can be quickly turned into a report so we don't loose those knowledge at the same time security is not compromised. Cons They still need to use and know the Oracle EBS functionality and combing other data source e.g HCM have to be done manually on Excel Reasons for choosing Blitz Report Performance is one main reason for selecting Blitz. There are no issues with connections because it is entirely integrated into Oracle. It comes with beaucoup seeded reports that can be used as-is or as a starting-point to build more customized versions. When support is needed, they have always been extremely quick to respond. They are eager to build recommendations into the standard functionality, as they can visualize how other customers can use the functionality as well. Cons New versions are being released regularly, so there are new features available upon upgrading, but this does require our DBA to test and install these revisions regularly as well.
