Producing the report serves to help the client start to trust that we know what we are doing and how we might be able to help them out. It's a great conversation starter. Pros Setting up the software for new clients is really easy. The clients really love the Timing Reports and the information provided. In many cases, the reports serve as discussion starters for all of the other retirement issues to follow. It's quick and easy to run and works well. Pros Generates simple, easy to understand strategies, by text. Also gives a nice cash flow chart that is useful. Probably the best part is the customer support. When there's an unusual scenario, or the software gives an unexpected answer, support is there to walk me through it. Cons Generation of several pages of "earliest possible" claiming strategy is not needed. I haven't learned how to use a handful of graphics, such as the different scenarios, but I don't think would impact what I'm trying to do. They are helpful when I call. The site itself was weird for a while because it didn't work in chrome (and no one uses internet explorer). Pros I like that I can run different scenarios side by side. Cons Some of the assumptions are difficult to figure out in the context of the bigger picture financial plan. A very easy tool to create reports that we can review with clients. Pros This is a very intuitive, quick and easy to use product to assist clients. The reports are extremely helpful, especially the break even grid at the front of the report. My clients find that the most helpful for a "big picture" understanding of options. Cons As with any software, assumptions can get a little higher than what we want clients to project. This is more an issue of any software. Pros Red line showing their income gap at retirement. Cons Colors, logos, info pages, etc. need to be more customizable. Difficult to customize clients output choices. Cannot include the month of retirement when inputing for custom charts. Reason for choosing Social Security Timing More customizable for clients info. Much more detail.
