The initial demonstration, negotiation and onboarding were all simple and easy - which adds a lot of value to a busy CFO. There are so many other providers with rigid infrastructure, fields which cannot be changed or renamed and GOAT allows for flexibility to personalise to our needs, without starting with a blank piece of paper - it has just the right level of must haves and customisation for us.

Pros

GOAT is a great platform. It is simple to use, intuitive and covers all bases for an SME to manage risk with easy to use and easy to follow data entry and results. Results can be exported in easy to read diagrams for board members. GOAT was our first move away from an excel-managed risk set-up and it has transformed how we track, control and mitigate risks, as well as how we report on them. Whilst we don't currently do this, you can add stakeholders as users to enable wider risk management and interaction and make this a focus or hub for all department leads.

Cons

Nothing jumps out as a 'least like'; the system is good value for money and works as expected. In time, I think AI tools could be introduced to support on some of the administrative tasks involved in using the software but, at the time of engaging with GOAT, the service provision and induction has been great.

Reasons for choosing GOAT Risk

We considered Access with a bespoke design and RiskSmart but this website won't let me select them as they don't show in the predetermined list. We chose GOAT over them in terms of functionality, usability, customisation, cost. GOAT scored higher than the competition in every scoring metric we measured.

We have had a positive experience using GOAT Risk. The system is user-friendly and straightforward to navigate, allowing us to efficiently manage risk and control activities. The ability to customise controls to align with organisational needs has been particularly beneficial in supporting effective risk management practices.

Pros

The ability to customise and edit controls enables the system to be aligned with our organisational requirements and risk management framework. Automated system notifications to risk and control owners enhance accountability and support the timely completion of risk and control management activities. The reporting functionality provides valuable insights into risk and control performance, enabling effective monitoring, oversight, and informed decision-making. Together, these features contribute to a more efficient and effective risk management and governance process.

Cons

No material concerns were identified during use. The system is straightforward to navigate and provides a positive user experience.

Switched from

We transitioned from a previous system that was less user-friendly and offered limited flexibility. Any updates or amendments required formal change requests, resulting in delays and inefficiencies.

Fantastic. I have no issues at all, everything has been very easy to use. If I need support the team are always on hand.

Pros

Great, effective system. We had nothing in place for risk management, only a spreadsheet that we were finding difficult to keep on track of. From the second I made an enquiry the team have been nothing but helpful, it's clear how much they care about the company they have set up. It's a very easy system to use, and great value for money as that is what we need as a not for profit organisation. The reporting facility is also great.

Cons

There isn't anything I don't like. The only feedback I have had to provide is where there is a risk that has closed there is no facility to archive. I have spoken to the team and it looks like there is another option whilst they look into this going forward.

Pros

The ability to customise to suit the business needs. This is really useful for me to be able to adapt for different audiences. It is also really useful that you can amend the tips section, as that means I can really emphasise how I want people to engage with the product

Cons

Extremely positive - I highly recommend this system to other not-for-profit execs who struggle to find the time to fully engage in a risk approach to their work. GOAT makes your life easier, and it will be well received by everyone in your organisation, especially your Board.

Pros

GOAT is very easy to use - I set it up myself within a day. It has the functions I need, and I am not paying for functions I don't need. The GOAT team support for me directly and through regular updates and subscriber meetings. The system is growing and improving all the time. My Board love the reports. It has made my risk management so much more efficient.

Cons

I don't have any cons right now - it does what I want, and I could not be more satisfied. As a bit of a beginner, there may be things I want, but the team have been more than willing to my needs and finding ways to meet them.

Excel was cumbersome and just didn't cut it with reporting.
