May 28, 2026 5.0 Senior Management decided we needed a proper document management system and Dokmee was what we landed on. Before this we were digging through shared drives and emailing scanned PDFs back and forth, which was a mess. Dokmee turned out to be more capable than I initially gave it credit for. It's not exciting software, it's document management, but it does what it promises and two years in I'd be genuinely annoyed if someone took it away. Dokmee ECM quietly solves real document chaos without making a fuss about it. Core functionality is solid, security works well, and the workflow automation pays off. Setup takes patience and the UI needs a refresh, but if you're still running on shared drives and email attachments, this is a meaningful step up. Pros The absolute best thing about Dokmee is that its built-in AI-powered OCR and data extraction features come included without per-click scanning fees. For a business digitizing thousands of legacy paper invoices or contracts, this saves a fortune. We set up "zones" on a document, and the system automatically reads the data, labels the file, and puts it in the right digital folder. It turns a nightmare manual data-entry chore into a background automated process. Search actually works well, you can find documents by content, filename, date, or tags without knowing exactly where someone saved them, which saves real time daily. Scanner integration is decent, documents land in the right folders with metadata attached without much manual effort. Access controls are granular enough for a healthcare environment where not everyone should see everything, and setup wasn't complicated. Cons Initial setup took way longer than expected, folder structures, permissions, scanner integrations, metadata fields and there are a lot of moving parts and the documentation doesn't walk you through it logically. The interface looks outdated and new staff members are visibly unimpressed when they first see it, which hurts adoption. Customer support is inconsistent, sometimes quick and helpful, other times slow when you really need a fast answer. Mobile experience is limited beyond basic document viewing.
