Shopify POS worked well for our small business, and a few times that I did need support. I was able to get a hold of someone and they always rectified the problem.

Pros

Easy to learn, worked as expected. I started with no experience and what I thought would be overwhelming was absolutely not!

Cons

Sometimes it took a few minutes to figure out the update which came quite frequently. also, I felt like some of the discount features that you could add for particular sales were not as easy to use as I would’ve liked.

Overall, my experience with Shopify POS was very positive. It provides a reliable and user-friendly solution for managing in-store transactions while integrating seamlessly with online Shopify operations. The centralized inventory and sales management were particularly useful.

Pros

The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it simple to manage products, process transactions, and track sales. I also liked how well the POS integrates with Shopify’s broader e-commerce platform, giving businesses a consistent view of online and in-store sales.

Cons

Some advanced features and customizations can take time to learn, and the overall cost can become higher for businesses that need additional features, hardware, or integrations.

Extremely easy to learn. Since I trained new employees myself, I can say firsthand that it was very simple to explain and most employees were comfortable using it very quickly. Overall, Shopify POS made our day-to-day operations much easier. It was reliable, intuitive, and worked particularly well in a fast-paced café environment. I would definitely recommend it to other businesses.

Pros

I used Shopify POS while working at a café and found it extremely easy to use. I was responsible for training new employees on the system, and it was honestly a piece of cake to teach. Most people picked it up very quickly, even if they had never used Shopify POS before. It helped keep our daily operations organized by connecting orders, payments, and inventory with PICTURES in one system. Payments were quick and straightforward, which was especially helpful during busy café rushes. Overall, I think it offers good value, especially for businesses that want their POS, payment processing, and inventory management all connected.

Cons

If the internet connection goes down, it can make processing orders/payments more difficult but that’s pretty much like any system.

Good for businesses doing light in-person sales a few times a year (pop-ups, markets, etc.), but I wouldn't recommend it for a dedicated retail store.

Pros

Since it's part of the Shopify ecosystem, everything is already integrated — inventory, sales, and reporting sync automatically with our online store.

Cons

It doesn't feel as built-out or user-friendly as core Shopify. Some workflows feel like an afterthought compared to the main platform.

My overall experience with Shopify POS has been very positive. It provides a reliable and easy-to-use platform for managing in-store and online sales from a single system. The seamless integration with Shopify keeps inventory, orders, and customer information synchronised in real time, making day-to-day operations much more efficient. Payment processing is fast and dependable, and the interface is intuitive enough for new staff to learn quickly. While some advanced features require higher-tier plans and hardware options are more limited than some competitors, Shopify POS offers excellent value, strong security, and a comprehensive feature set for businesses looking to streamline retail operations.

Pros

Shopify POS is intuitive and easy to learn, making it simple for staff to process sales with minimal training. It integrates seamlessly with Shopify's online store, keeping inventory, customer data, and orders synchronised in real time. The platform offers reliable payment processing, flexible customisation options, and useful automation features that streamline day-to-day retail operations. It provides excellent value for businesses already using Shopify, with strong security, dependable performance, and a comprehensive set of features for managing both in-store and online sales.

Cons

Some advanced features are only available on higher-tier plans, which can increase costs for growing businesses. Hardware compatibility can be restrictive compared to some competitors, and occasional syncing delays between online and in-store inventory may occur during busy periods. While the interface is easy to use overall, configuring more advanced settings and customisations can involve a steeper learning curve.

Overall, my experience with Shopify POS has been very positive. It has made managing in-person sales much easier by connecting our physical retail activities with our online store in one simple system. For a growing brand, Shopify POS has been extremely useful at events, markets, and pop-up experiences, allowing us to process payments quickly, manage inventory accurately, and provide customers with a smooth checkout experience. Having everything connected in one place saves time and helps us keep better control of our operations. While there are some additional costs for advanced features and hardware, the reliability, ease of use, and ability to scale with our business make Shopify POS a valuable tool for managing both online and offline sales.

Pros

What I like most about Shopify POS is how seamlessly it connects our physical and online sales channels. It allows us to manage in-person sales, inventory, customer information, and payments all from one integrated system, making it much easier to run our business across multiple platforms. For events, markets, and pop-up experiences, Shopify POS has been extremely valuable because it provides a professional checkout experience while keeping our stock levels updated in real time. This helps prevent inventory issues and gives us a clear overview of our business performance. I also appreciate how easy it is to use. The interface is intuitive, and the ability to access products, process payments, and manage orders from a mobile device makes it a powerful tool for growing brands that sell both online and in person.

Cons

One of the main drawbacks of Shopify POS is that some advanced features require additional subscriptions, hardware, or higher-tier plans, which can increase costs for smaller businesses. While the basic system works well, businesses looking for more complex reporting, staff management, or advanced retail features may need to invest further. Another area for improvement is that the hardware options and setup can become expensive, especially for businesses attending multiple events or markets that need additional equipment. It would also be beneficial to have more built-in customization options without relying on third-party apps. Overall, Shopify POS is a powerful solution, but reducing costs and making more advanced features accessible to smaller businesses would make it even more valuable.

I don’t use it anymore due to the cost, because I have not sold any of my products while using the product.

Pros

I’m very happy to have used this product in the last few years. It makes selling products online a lot easier for business owners.

Cons

I don’t like the cost that is associated with the product. Honestly, it is not worth the price of the product, especially if your not selling your own products.

My overall experience with Shopify POS was very positive, especially for managing both in store and online sales in one place. It made stock control and order tracking much simpler by keeping everything automatically synced, which reduced manual work and improved accuracy. The system was easy to use for daily transactions, and staff could pick it up quickly with minimal training. Reporting and sales insights were also helpful for understanding performance and making informed decisions. While there were some limitations around advanced customisation and costs increasing with additional features, it remained a reliable and efficient solution for retail operations.

Pros

What I liked most about Shopify POS was how seamlessly it connected in store sales with online inventory and customer data. Everything stayed synchronised in real time, which reduced stock discrepancies and made it much easier to manage products across multiple channels. The checkout process was fast and straightforward, helping improve customer experience at the till. It was also easy to set up and train staff on, which made daily operations smoother. The reporting tools were useful as well, giving clear insights into sales performance and customer behaviour without needing separate systems.

Cons

What I liked least about Shopify POS was that some of the more advanced features depend heavily on higher tier subscriptions or add ons, which can increase overall cost quickly. The system can also feel a bit limited when it comes to deep customisation for very specific retail workflows. In addition, occasional reliance on a stable internet connection can be a drawback in busy environments where connectivity is not always consistent.

Its great, I use it online to take payments from customers and I also use it in person if a customer doesn't have cash

Pros

Its super easy to set up and it makes it easy to take payments online and in person. You can send invoices and receipts easily.

Cons

Its way to expensive on my opinion. Every transaction had a percentage that thou have to pay just for someone making a payment.
