Everything is easy to use, the back of house updates with inventory, visuals, SEO, titles, etc., all work in real time. Pros Ease of use when checking out clients on the go. Being able to integrate seamlessly with other apps to enhance the checkout experience like gift card balances, rewards balance for points, etc. Cons I haven’t had a bad experience with pos. I’m able to use my pin to easily sign uh. The only hiccups I have is when there are software updates and I have to ensure I’m using inventory from the right location. I was able to get a hold of someone and they always rectified the problem. Pros Easy to learn, worked as expected. I started with no experience and what I thought would be overwhelming was absolutely not! Cons Sometimes it took a few minutes to figure out the update which came quite frequently. also, I felt like some of the discount features that you could add for particular sales were not as easy to use as I would’ve liked. So really it's great for both a brick and mortar retailer or an online business. Pros It easily syncs to our online Shopify website, It's also available offline for cash sales too which is a plus. It was simple to to teach to our staff they all caught on rather quickly. Also because it integrates with a lot of other apps including our Google merchant center so our awesome store shows up on Google as well! Cons It is more expensive than my boss really wants. Because we are a smaller hotel. The 3 day free trial was just not enough. So we paid for the basic plan for 6 months so that we could really be able to check out all the features. The advance features are quite expensive. Since I trained new employees myself, I can say firsthand that it was very simple to explain and most employees were comfortable using it very quickly. Overall, Shopify POS made our day-to-day operations much easier. It was reliable, intuitive, and worked particularly well in a fast-paced café environment. I would definitely recommend it to other businesses. Pros I used Shopify POS while working at a café and found it extremely easy to use. I was responsible for training new employees on the system, and it was honestly a piece of cake to teach. Most people picked it up very quickly, even if they had never used Shopify POS before. It helped keep our daily operations organized by connecting orders, payments, and inventory with PICTURES in one system. Payments were quick and straightforward, which was especially helpful during busy café rushes. The convenience of the Shopify POS App is sometimes overshadowed by a need for 3rd party apps, and lots of time fiddling around. A major plus is that most issues that I encounter are issues for everyone else too, so I can usually find my answers in an archive somewhere. The bad news is that some issues have been around for years and are still not resolved. For instance, the month-end inventory snapshot sometimes takes up to 2 weeks into the new month to show the month prior. Pros I love the ability to integrate our online store with our brick & mortar location. Before Shopify, we had to put in every order twice to capture the online sale. Now it's simple to manage our products both online and in store. Cons It doesn't have the ability to do Weighted Average Cost (or any other costing method that isn't FIFO). Additionally, Shopify POS doesn't have any report to track adjustments made to inventory-- you must go into each individual item to view adjustment history per item. There's no way to track bulk adjustments made in the inventory screen. We use 3+ apps just to make Shopify POS work as a normal POS should. It has been great to use and integrates seamlessly with our online ordering system Pros Shopify POS is a nicely packaged POS option that works great if you already have a shopify store. It uses the shopify catalog for your ecommerce site which basically mean zero setup. Buy a tablet and card reader and you're running! Cons Some more customization would be nice on the receipt.
