Inputting benefit elections is easy. The ability to see org structure on an employee's profile is very handy. Cons The software is slow and not very intuitive. It is very difficult to customize. There is no easy way to see useful information in one place so you have to flip between many screens. For benefit enrollments, you can apply changes to more than one item. For example, if an employee updated their beneficiaries, you need to click on each election and input the new information. There is no bulk edit. Review Source MS Maggie S. Easy to streamline processes and allows clients to customize their environment. Cons Cost has increased and changes in the environment continuously happens that clients are not able to keep up and often run into as they encounter an issue to a process that was working before but has stopped working due to software update. I hope that our HR department feels the same. Pros As an end user I really enjoy Dayforce HCM. The software is very user friendly and easy to learn how to navigate. I like that it has straight forward buttons/menu options that clearly designate the areas you are trying to access. i.e. Benefits (all of your benefit documents and management), Careers (opening job postings), Earnings (payroll information) etc. Requesting time off, accessing paystubs, and messaging supervisors is very easy. Cons The least desirable quality about this software is that it takes a long time to load. For employees who are hourly and rely on it to manage their timesheets, this presents a problem. If you don't have it loaded and ready to go at the end of the day, other employees can end up waiting 1-2minutes for your timecard to load, while they are already clocked out. And I am able to compare my timesheets vs. Punches and pay. It makes it easy for me to view my schedule on the app and I can view my timesheet to have supervisor correct any issues. Pros The best things about dayforce is that it comes with an app that allows you to see your schedule and your timesheets. You are also able to view and print your pay check stubs directly from app. One of the features I like is it gives you the option to view a summary of your pay, and your also able to view a summary of your punches; for you to be able to compare your timesheets to. Cons One of the things I dislike is that you're not able to change your availability yourself, managers have to do it. It also doesn't alert you about schedules being posted. And a lot of the functions can be blocked by administrators so you can't experience the software completely. It has to be the worst piece of software ever written Cons The payroll processing portion of this is terrible. When we ported over from ADP it kept my deductions. However, it made me exempt on Federal taxes. Then it failed to acknowledge the 1st holiday I should have been paid after the move. Then, I just realized on the most recent paystub it has been only paying me straight time. It has not be pushing anything over 80 hours to overtime since we are paid bi-weekly. This is payroll software people. It is not rocket science. Yet, you can foul it up apparently somehow. It must be super cheap for my company to have dumped ADP for this junk. I guess it is so popular because it must be bottom of the barrel cheap and everyone doesn't care how much extra work payroll has to do. Review Source MC Mary C. September 2, 2018 5.0 Pros Dayforce is the best employee scheduling software I have ever experienced. Not only does it allow you to schedule your employees, but they can also post a shift they need covered or trade with specific others. The admin then gets to approve any changes. Cons It runs with Silverlight which has its own issues, I have heard they are moving away from this however. It is how I would input my hours worked daily. It was fairly simple to use and had a lot of features. Pros I liked being able to adjust my menu bar according to what I wanted and was more important to me, I also really liked being able to access tons of information at my fingertips...information like what my previous earnings are, what my hours for the week were, what my vacation/holiday/ off days are or if I wanted to request any I could also do it through Dayforce Cons I did not like that for some reason the website is not compatible with google chrome, it will only allow me to input my work hours through safari! Before there was SO much filing and tracking down documents...and now we are able to just go an employee's page and look at what documents are uploaded. Pros It is user friendly at some points and it is very popular. Cons The Customer Service is really poor. I have been asking for this report that I used with the system that I used with the system I had used prior to Ceridian Dayforce. It has been eight months and it is not done yet. It is impacting our HR and accounting system big time. The team that they outsource their job to, is not very competent even though I love to work with main Ceridian team. It is really difficult to make any changes. I have to call customer support for almost everything as I dont have access to so many things to do. I think our implementation and overall experience would have been better if we weren’t rushed to go live. Pros Dayforce puts information into one platform, HR, Benefits, Payroll. Cons Functionality and reporting are clunky. It is hard to get information out and into one report. We have had to do more things manually, especially, in payroll than what we had to with a prior vendor. October 19, 2016 4.0 ABC Inoac previously utilized the Ceridian HPW platform solely for payroll management. Due to personnel changes and attrition over the years, we were down to only two users who could operate within HPW. As the obvious need for change was being discussed, we became aware of the Dayforce application and could not wait to see it first hand. From day one we knew this was the solution would best fit our needs and objectives. The implementation and go-live process was fairly seamless. With a great internal team and wonderful support from the Ceridian staff, we were able to navigate many custom programming issue in order to accommodate the many policies and processes already in place. The change has been largely well received by all employees. Within a couple months we were able to stop printing paper earning statements. This was a huge leap for our folks and not without some stress but has gone very well overall. We look forward to growing into the many features the application has to offer including attendance and document management. Pros Fairly seamless transition from HPW to Dayforce platform. We used to utilize a separate Kronos system for timekeeping so having timekeeping and payroll all in one application now is so much easier. Our HR and support staff are able to focus on other important issues rather than spend hours on timesheets. Utilizing the benefits functionality has been a bit of a transition but has gone very well. We look forward to a totally interactive open enrollment in 2017. Cons Implementation team changes caused some delays during configuration which ultimately cut into our testing timeline. This was a bit of an inconvenience but thanks to a great internal team, we were able to navigate the changes without jeopardizing the go-live of 1/1/16. Review Source BW Bryan W. She considers it essential software. Pros Prior to using Dayforce, our staff relied upon our controller to manage their time off, sick days and other HR related issues. Dayforce not only allowed our controller to free up her time, but as promised, put the control back into our employees hands, empowering them to monitor their individual HR related tasks. Cons While excellent in it's functionality, some users complain about the slow load times. As a SASS based software, this may be a problem with my internet connection at busy times. In reality, this represents a very small problem, and is a very small price to pay for an otherwise excellent program. Review Source CJ Crystal J. It's worth the investment. Pros Dayforce HCM is a one stop shop to handle our robust business needs. We have over 2,500 employees that work multiple jobs at multiple locations and needed a system to handle our Timekeeping, Scheduling and Payroll alongside our Recruiting, Onboarding and Performance Management needs. This system has great reporting features and the ability to create custom reports that meet specific business needs. Dayforce HCM also has the ability to create several different roles with different permissions and this functionality is a plus for the different management levels we have. I also love the workflow features throughout the system and the ability for forms to be created and routed to the appropriate approver to reduce some of our manual processes. Cons A new system always requires training and Dayforce HCM is the same. There is a plethora of training that should and needs to be completed to be able to fully use and appreciate all this software has to offer. Great news is Ceridian has a comprehensive training site which houses videos, instructor-led courses, MyPath (hands-on) training, etc. which will be great preparation to use this system. It prompts you 2x daily that there are requests awaiting your approval Cons I am not a fan of the reporting functions. Pros data management of hours work, vacation earned and banked and lieu hours. You are able to request days off on your virtual calendar which is then approved by your manager. Soft copies of your pay stub. Cons you have to scan in and out this is how they capture your time. sometimes the vacation earned is not up to date. Does not send notifications when a manager approves your time off request. If you make a mistake or change your date of your time off request after it has been submitted, it has to then be approved by your manager again before you can change it, this can be tedious.
