I like our older system, TimeForce by Qquest much better. It was much more user friendly.

Pros

This product attempts to gather all HR themed items in one location. That is beneficial. Timesheets, schedules, pay stubs, benefits, etc.

Cons

Much of the software appears outdated. Organization is at a minimal, it's like they kept adding things and never organized it well. Locations for certain aspects are all over the place, and rarely makes sense where to find. Forms are not very clear. Training videos are outdated and show clearly older versions of the software. Work Schedules for my employees are never correct, I then correct it, but it keeps going back to incorrect schedule data, so I just ignore it and figure my employees know when they are working. For my employees, the clock-in, clock-out time sheets are horrible, it shows them nothing in regards to when they clocked in, when they clocked out, and how about a running total for hours for the week?...forget about it. From a manager stand-point, viewing my employees time sheets isn't good, as it doesn't total worked hours from time off hours to holiday hours, etc....so I always have to manually add up their hours to make sure correct. Lots of time wasted...

Pros

The fact that its very comprehensive tool when it comes to HR side of hiring. I can see the earnings and pay stubs and even yearly earning and hours. Also deposits come on Friday but we can see our pay stubs a day before in DF which can give us some time to review the hours and other details.

Cons

Recruitment aspect is a little complicated or i am still learning thats why i think it can be a little more user friendly

Pros

The product is easy to use and allows me to remotely manage most aspects of HR via the online website. I can easily check and edit timesheets, rotas and shifts and manage my team efficiently via Dayforce HCM.

Cons

I would like to be able to use more features on the mobile app rather than desktop only. For example- the ability to approve holidays and edit timesheets via the app rather than having to do this via desktop.

for us, it allows standardization of many processes for many separate locations. And having multiple pieces of information attached to a single employee profile is useful.

Pros

We quite like Period Review - probably our current favourite. Allows us to highlight things we need managers to pay attention to. Other than that, we do like that it is quite customizable - even though sometimes it takes a lot of research / investigation to find.

Cons

Forms and reporting are hard to customize - having to write code isn’t particularly easy for non programmers

We have been able to become more paperless with Dayforce. For the most part, payroll processes correctly each pay period. Open Enrollment saved lots of time and paper and the employees seemed to really like the process. I think as we learn to use all of the functionality of the system, we will find more benefits and cost-savings. We are just disappointed that we did not get this information/recommendations from our implementation team. And the fact that modules that should have been live and working properly at the time of implementation are still not functional has been extremely frustrating. Our HR Admins are doing more work now, than they did before implementing Dayforce , where Attendance Management is concerned.

Pros

The system has lots of flexibility and functionality - unfortunately our implementation did not go very well (we are still working on it over a year after going live) so I don't believe we are using the system to its full capacity. The user experience is really friendly. Our current employees and onboarding employees like the system.

Cons

It seems that the implementation team wants to cut you off long before the system is running as expected. It's wonderful that Ceridian is working on so many great, new, cutting-edge options but our users (PR/HRAdmins, Managers) just want the current functionality to work properly. We are still submitting lots of tickets to support on a weekly basis and we have found the quality of support to be herky-jerky. Some of the reps are really good and others seem to just want to get the case off their plate without full resolution of the issue.

It was less expensive than Workday and thought the value would offset the functionality.

Cons

We are behind on learning the technology. Once you are behind, it is a challenge to get caught up. The online and community resources are great but not having the dedicated CSM to reach out to is a resource we miss greatly. They were key previously in helping fill in some gaps.

It has been a time-saver for us, I feel that there should be some kind of mechanism in place for employers (especially those that started in the beginning of Dayforce) to have their systems reviewed by someone at Ceridian. I feel that our "set up" could have (and would have) been handled differently if we had waited a couple of years to implement.

Pros

We are very happy with the ability to manage payroll and HR functions for both our Canadian and US entities in one place.

Cons

Still struggle with reporting (although it has been better with the newer system upgrades).

I do wish support was faster at responding. Sometimes it can take a few months to process file changes.

Lately, I would say our overall experience has been positive. Having a good understanding of the backend is crucial to being able to troubleshoot problems before involving support.

Pros

As we keep adding modules we are finding we like it more and more. Having more processes and data in the system gives us so many more opportunities to discover and gain efficiencies across the HR team.

Cons

Admittedly, our initial go live was a disaster, but it gave us a good opportunity to dive into the back-end and really learn how the system works, and how decisions and processes in one area of the system can have positive (and negative) consequences in other areas of the system.

My overall experience with Dayforce HCM has been great. It took me only a couple of minutes to set up my payroll administration preferences, my benefit preferences, as well as several other aspects of the on-boarding experience which employers typically ask of their new employees. I have not experienced any issues thus far in using Dayforce HCM, and I have been using it for quite a while now.

Pros

There are multiple things that I enjoy about Dayforce HCM, some of which include the ability to simply and efficiently administer payroll information such that employees would be able to enter their personal bank account information, how they would like their pay distributed among multiple bank accounts, if applicable. I also very much like the simplicity of the user interface when dealing with benefit administration, which can get very confusing with other HR softwares, but not with Dayforce HCM. Keeping tracking of PTO is also very streamlined, as the amount of PTO available increases, or decreases, in real time. Paystubs are easily accessible, also. Lastly, customer service, whenever needed, is always happy to help and is always available to answer the call in a just a few minutes. Highly recommended.

Cons

The only possible aspect that I can point out as a negative when it comes to Dayforce HCM is its pricing brackets. Compared to other HR services, the price is a bit more expensive, which may become an obstacle for some, but when considering the value of the service you would be getting, I feel it is well worth it. Outside of the potential pricing barrier, I honestly have nothing else to point out as a negative, as the service does everything it promises to be able to do, and efficiently.
