Pros I love everything about Skypiom. Every course is structured to have 12 modules, you are required to answer 30 questions and should score a minimum of 65 to be found competent. this means that you can not "cheat" whilst doing a course since if you do not pay attention to what you are learning, you will be required to re-enroll for a particular course in order to be found competent. I also love the fact that every module is followed by a case study which provides greater clarity on the content shared in the module that preceded each case study. Each module is no longer than 5 minutes, so it's really "bite-size" content but well structured and filled with lots of relevant and up-to-date content. The whole system is so easy to navigate, I can actually do it in my sleep right now. Before now, I've enrolled on various other platforms to study free MOOCS, but Skypiom is by far the most user-friendly and interactive platform I've used to date. Well done to the developers, designers, owners, and project team for putting something so intuitive together. I am very much impressed and that is putting it "mildly" To date, and this has ONLY been since the last week in April 2021, when I enrolled for my first course, I've successfully completed over 60 courses already, and this is whilst holding down a full-time job....and today is July 7th, 2021. It has run virtually fault-free for the 7 years that we have been using it making it and support / customer service has been second-to-none. Pros As a South African Qualification Authority (SAQA)-accredited private college as well as offering United Kingdom approved qualifications, our Accreditation Bodies as well as Instructional Team value the ease of hosting various types of material (PDF, Power Point etc) on the platform. What impressed us most is the clarity and thoroughness of the reporting module as well as the ability to run internal moderation - a big advantage over similar products we have tried in the past. Skypiom has a Personality Profiling (SOPCAPS) tool which allows us to measure a potential candidate's personality traits and cognitive abilities and make sure that they are a right fit for the organisation. We are also able to update the theme and logo to our own, which allows for a great experience for our candidates and they have also regularly mentioned that they find the platform straightforward to use. Lastly, the reporting functionality on the KMS is great. It provides in depth reports allowing us to make informed decisions in the recruiting process. We have never seen another system with this level of reporting so easily available to administrators. Cons Understanding the Personality Profiling setup and how to create courses does take time. There are a lot of options when creating courses, and can seem overwhelming at first. But in depth training is provided for administrators and the team at Skypiom is always on standby should we need any assistance. The system caters for all our training delivery needs and even provides for full blended learning, through the ability to create a course tree containing various format and file types, even assessments. The reporting component is built-in and provide the right insights needed to address knowledge and skills-gaps in the organization. Support is also catered for through a built-in ticketing system and response is just brilliant. Pros It is an all-in-one cloud-hosted and fully supported LMS/KMS with the necessary functionality to implement at scale. We had the freedom of taking a phased approach, starting with the vanilla application in 2017 and gradually adding features that suited our skillset, resources and strategy, over a period of time. Cons During the first year of utilizing the platform in our Learning & Development department, we were required to keep hosting our Moodle server on the side, as the KMS/LMS did not support SCORM-compliant courses. However, the platform continuously developed over time to the point where it now natively supports SCORM as well as Open-source content and courses. Pros We can train our staff across the country with very little effort from our side. Once the content has been produced it is very easy to enroll learners into the course where they can complete the training at their own pace. The reporting system is also a feature we cannot live without. Keeping track of the students progress throughout the training without having to follow up with them directly. Cons As the system is extremely feature rich it can be a little daunting in the beginning to understand how to structure the content for our use case. But the free training provided by Skipiom was invaluable and helped to answer many of our questions.
