We were well supported to set up the platform including having regular check-ins. Pros It was straightforward and easy to set up for our members. The standard functionality is good and it's easy to customise it with your own logos, wording, topics etc. It has enabled us to scale up our mentoring offer to reach a lot more members. Cons No real cons so I don't have anything specific to add here. The only issue we have had is some mentors don't respond to requests. Helpful and quick to sort out any issues. Generally easy to use and administrate on a daily basis. Pros It covers off the basics in a straightforward way but there is more that you can do if you want to. It is good that the platform has resources for users to use. Cons Not being able to breakdown reporting just for coaching or just for mentoring. Inability to add files such as our coaching agreement. Lack of storage to add reflective notes. Pros We were able to build a bespoke mentoring system with PLD that met our business needs. Working with the PLD team to get this up and running was overall very easy, flexible, and it has been excellent value for money. We feel the platform is very secure and we have oversight of everything that happens, which supports our orgs safeguarding requirements. Using the platform is very straight forward for the user, and as an admin too. Cons We had a couple of hurdles when customising the platform to start with as our org has a unique approach to mentoring relationships, but PLD were able to find a solution which fit our business need as well as taking on board their teams knowledge of mentoring, personal development, and user experience. Pros The ease of use for mentors and mentees makes PLD a real win. The system is intuitive and transparent which allows mentees to clearly see who is available and for mentors to manage their time. It provides good value for money in terms of numbers engaging and live relationships compared to older system we used. Client support is extremely good. Cons We haven't yet encountered anything that we feel is negative about the platform, to date it has met all our needs. It became obvious that we could not sustain a version which was dependent on spreadsheets, google docs etc. We had multiple data sources and there was risk of error in data reporting. Using the PLD Mentoring platform has allowed us to streamline our programme and we plan as we grow to use the reporting tools to allow us report on impact and our growth to our funders and other stakeholders. By adopting the platform we have removed the day to day manual data administration that was very time consuming. It has allowed us to free up resources and concentrate on other areas. Pros We found the software very practical. I was obvious that PLD had expertise in this area. The guides and very useful. We operate in Ireland and it was very useful that we could localise some of the language and terminology that would make sense to our users. We work with young people in education or wishing to get into education and match them with a mentor. The software was very intuitive and easy to use. We have had no feedback/queries from our mentees and mentors that use the platform to facilitate their mentoring. Cons The integration process was really made easy with the support of the PLD team and Helen. We are not IT experts so to get their advise and feedback was invaluable. There were no features difficult to use or implement. Reason for choosing PLD Mentoring Platform When we made the decision to look at using a mentoring platform we did research on existing products and services. We met with several providers and had trial access to the products. We choose PLD Mentoring because we felt the offered us the best value for money. We are a non-profit and this was always going to be a key issue for us. We also had the opportunity to speak with a couple of PLD clients. These conversations confirmed what we felt was important. The mentoring journeys that have taken place have all given good reviews, so until the time comes that I can dedicate more time to it - it is doing a good job in the background. Pros At a basic level it runs itself, if you are a time-poor admin. The journey is well thought out, improving all the time and regular check-ins give me a boost to promote the service more amongst our membership. Cons It's not a fault of the platform - but you really do have to put a lot of effort in to recruit mentors. From setting up the platform, through to supporting with managing the platform since it went live, PLD have been fantastic. The set up of the platform was incredibly swift, the communication was always timely, and the platform itself has received a great deal of praise from both administrators and external users. PLD are also always looking for ways to better their product too; since the launch of our specific platform, they have implemented several changes that have been very useful. Pros The mentor and mentee matching is fantastic; together with PLD, I was able to create the algorithm that allows mentees to "search for the skills they need" and allows mentors to "input the skills they can support with". This has completely removed the need for an administrator to 'manually' match mentors and mentees with one another, and has saved at least 100 hours of time. The support team and account manager have been responsive and amenable, as well as providing guidance and tips for our own promotions and launch. Pros \- It is incredibly easy to use - There is generic content you can use which saves a lot of time writing content. - The team at PLD were extremely helpful throughout, from tender to launch - The platform is intuitive, and works well, with a good amount of uptake at launch - Pricing is inexpensive for the tool and service - Overall it is clean, easy, a strong platform and with a good team behind it. Cons \- Lack of administration tools meaning you have to contact PLD for certain changes - Restricted page layouts I suspect the team is working on having more flexibility to the platform. When Covid-19 hit the island and we went into lock down the process was accelerated rapidly in a bid to try and help as many local business as we could - Chamber member or not! The platform has worked fantastically for us and is very simple to use and easy to navigate. The back office admin is really insightful, you can run reports and export data to excel. I also love that mentees can ask one off quick questions and don't always have to enter into a full on mentoring relationship. PLD are great at sending over articles related to mentoring that you can use to promote the platform as well as keep existing users engaged. I also really like that PLD send out reminders to users that still need to engage with either mentees or mentors - as you can imagine it would be a nightmare to try an keep on top of this yourself. All in all the platform has been perfect for us and PLD have been incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any questions or queries.
