### "Cloud Based Server Platform"

May 12, 2023

3.0

Overall ProjectWise works great for collaborating in CAD, but not ideal for moving all project documentation into one platform.

Pros

ProjectWise allows users from various firms to collaborate on design files in one shared server, rather than working independently.

Cons

Learning curve can be steep, software does not integrate well with certain programs, Beneficial for CAd use but clunky for document management

### "ProjectWise for AEC Industrials"

July 17, 2023

5.0

It's really been great to work with ProjectWise software. I have used this product for Design and Engineering for BIM projects, and I can surely tell this product has the best ever collaborative approach for all Global projects with common data environment configuration. Network configuration of all the projects can be done quick and you can start working on projects immediately. Also supporting this product is very easy.

Pros

Managed Workspace is the excellent feature of ProjectWise. It is the only one storage location for all the project data.Integrates seamlessly with MicroStation.Renditioning with profiles to PDF creations.

Cons

Needed to add following features.1. 3D PDF tab in CAD documents for quick review of BIM models2. CAD Integration management if more than one version is integrated (E.g. AutoCAD 2019 & AutoCAD2020)3. Workspace debugging.4. detailed dependency viewer for document - should display reference path

### "Projectwise review"

July 17, 2023

3.0

It is a mixed experience. For some aspects it is very good but for some others it s terrible and not modern at all.

Pros

The automatic production of 2D drawings with the pdf rendition is high valuable when using Bentley products. The interface for the use is quite classic but people gets used to it.

Cons

The configuration of Projectwise workflows is awful, there is no other words. The interface is dificult, and editing an excel file for such a critical thing such as workflows is a nightmare. The documentation is not good concerning the tool as well.

Reason for choosing ProjectWise

Did not choose

### "SUDOP PRAHA a.s. "

July 18, 2023

5.0

In our experience, there is still a need to adapt employees to working in Projectwise. People are bothered by the different way of handling files when copying, renaming , working with images. They compare file handling too much with products like totalcommander and windows explorer. A big problem is the unreliable collaboration with Autodesk products. We are very negative about Projectwise support especially in 2016-2021. We missed detailed tutorials and explanations of new Projectwise features, slow bug fixing especially for new web services. Working in the Projectwise client was trouble-free all the time. It worked reliably

Pros

Working with files. The security of using a single valid copy of a document in a network with geographically distant branches. When implementing Projectwise, a company must modify its existing workflows. When implementing Projectwise, the firm must unify the versions of software used.

Cons

We implemented Projectwise between 2000 and 2002. It took a long time to get the integration with the software products right. First of all Bentley products, then Microsoft Office. The experience from the semi-second implementation in the company's subsidiary made the implementation easier. However, there are still problems with the integration of Autodesk products, especially Revit, Civil 3d and Autocad.

Reason for choosing ProjectWise

Secure document storage, access rights management through workflows, document handling in a multi-branch enterprise network. Since 2000 we have used Projectwise as the perfect dms. Since 2016 we have been using BIM on projects and using Projectwise as a CDE. We consider Projectwise to be the perfect solution for creating CDE. We use it in all our projects to share data and information with all external entities.

### "You need to update your review"

November 9, 2017

5.0

Pros

I'm not sure where you got your information on this but the review is incomplete and inaccurate. There are several features that I use consistently within ProjectWise that you show as unavailable. It has been the leading Engineering Document Management system for decades but you show that Document Management and Document Storage are 'unavailable'. It's build on collaboration and remote access which you also show as unavailable. No information is better than WRONG information.

Cons

There is little to say against it - it continues to grow and improve. Providing options most applicable to the industry. I expect it will continue to improve.

### "It will help to share document with security"

June 15, 2021

5.0

It is necessary to use, if your company have lots of documents and have to share with many persons with security.

Pros

Easy to share any document through link and link is clickable to those who have permission. It will also help to share document within organization with ease.

Cons

It is little tough to work with it. You need someone to guide for how to use. Actually projectwise provided too much functions and which are necessary also, but if any new user will have to struggle to use.

### "Amazing software for collaboration with other firms"

November 21, 2022

5.0

Very nice experience overall.

Pros

We use ProjectWise to collaborate with other firms so that both the firms can work on files together. The best part is you can check out a file then other person cannot check in.

Cons

Sometimes uploading and downloading files can be slow, I did not find a way to replace a file too.

### "A great system for storing and sharing data in the cloud, once you get the hang of it"

July 13, 2018

4.0

Pros

Projectwise provides a flexible file structure and allows easy storage, sharing and collaboration on data in the cloud. This is of great assistance when working in nationally and internationally based teams. The variable levels of access controls can seem frustrating at first to the ordinary user, but are highly useful in controlling access to data

Cons

For first time users, Projectwise can be clunky to use, with little logic to the interface. The password reset functions are not seemingly well designed for organisations who require passwords changed regularly.

### "Doesn't work with all products"

February 17, 2021

5.0

It's OK. We use it primarily because some of our engineers use it, and some clients require it. If you're not working inside the Bentley ecosystem a ton (I don't), it's kind of a pain to mess with.

Pros

It's nice to have everything in one location, checking-in and checking-out gives the speed of a local copy.

Cons

Doesn't work super well with my GIS software - haven't figured out how to link directly to a path in projectwise. So I wind up having to take an extra step of exporting, editing, and re-importing multiple large files, rather than just using synced sharepoint directories.

### "Projectwise Review"

May 29, 2025

Pros

Very good product by Bentley Systems. It work as a file explorer, but instead it's for large projects. The files are sharable online, meaning anyone with valid account could access the files.

Cons

N/A. I realy like using project wise. It helps me to orgnize my work with my team since it's accessible for all members.

### "Projectwise for CAD Files Management"

August 31, 2024

5.0

Overall, ProjectWise is a powerful tool for document management and collaboration, but its steep learning curve and complex interface can be challenging for new users.

Pros

ProjectWise excels in document management, offering seamless collaboration, version control, and secure access, enhancing team efficiency and project organization.

Cons

The software lags a lot of times. Integration with other software tools can also be cumbersome at times.

### "A well rounded collaborative tool"

May 10, 2022

4.0

I have used ProjectWise at many companies for many projects, and it has always been a powerful and useful collaboration tool. It does require training for the initial learning curve so we do always account for that in our project schedules.

Pros

I have used Projectwise for many projects with different teams - sometimes international teams around the world. My experience has always been decently pleasant. Projectwise has an advantage over its new competitor BIM360, because you can collaborate on MANY DIFFERENT FILES TYPES. Word docs, CAD drawings, Microstation drawings, spreadsheets, etc. This is where ProjectWise wins. It has an audit trail and you can customize the environment and document control for each project. You can also adjust permission settings as needed. The speed of working on drawings is efficient, since it makes a local copy and you're only affected by slow network issues when pushing your work to the server.

Cons

It does have a steep initial learning curve e.g. understanding check in vs server update vs open/checkout etc. There should be explanations & definitions built in to the UI because improper use of some of the tools can be catastrophic.

Reason for choosing ProjectWise

Stronger collaborative tools and support for different file types & programs. E.g. Microsoft suite, autodesk, bentley, adobe, bluebeam, tts scheduling, photoshop etc.

### "Decent project database software"

July 17, 2023

3.0

I've been a regular PW user for over a decade and recently became an administrator during our SELECTseries to CONNECT upgrade. There were a lot of challenges, and still are, to clean up our datasource and to take advantage of the features in PW. I would describe the software as potentially powerful, but clunky and difficult to learn.

Pros

All the documents in on location, workflow control, inherited properties and attributes, title block integration.

Cons

Search is not intuitive, access control is challenging, lots of effort is needed to train and learn the features of the software, as well as management and knowledge sharing. The software has gotten slower with the CONNECT edition anecdotally, tends to crash at suboptimal times.

Reason for choosing ProjectWise

Our user base is highly MicroStation centric and it appeared to be the logical choice back in 2012 when we moved form W/edge.

### "Best project management system for large firms and agencies"

July 3, 2018

5.0

Pros

Huge storage capabilities for all types of files, various levels of sharing and security that enable quick and efficient transfer and sharing of files at all stages of project development and design, easy compatibility with all Bentley civil engineering design programs. As a design engineer in a large bridge design division, I found our switch to ProjectWise to be smooth and easily managed. Projects were easy to find, even years later, and ProjectWise facilitated good sharing and cooperation between in-house personnel and the customers.

Cons

It can be slow. Sometimes it goes down. There's a box that started auto-checking itself a few months ago that makes you open a read-only copy of things, and this resulted in my doing a bunch of analysis that didn't get saved, and a really awkward conversation with my group leader because said analysis was not there when we needed it to be. (Moral of story, read each dialog box carefully before clicking accept, even if you've been a ProjectWise user for a long time.)

Overall satisfied with ProjectWise. Most of the functionalities are available and some advance level features are also available which makes ProjectWise unique compare to other available solutions in market.

Pros

Difference Serviceses and its use cases. Issue resolution service has saved countless man hours and reduced manual efforts by creating automatic CRS generate.

Cons

Export is not possible in PW Web connections. Bulk user upload is not possible in PW Administrator/PW Explorer. There are certain limitations in PW Insights which is dimming the charm of reporting.

### "Great data-sharing product regardless of your platform!"

June 21, 2018

5.0

Project data sharing next to none!

Pros

Ability to share data anywhere in the world. The workflows and the ability to automate so many aspects of the sheet creation process is a huge time saver. We use it for Bentley, Microsoft, and Autodesk software without major issues.

Cons

Upgrading the software can be a quite daunting task. The ability to integrate some of the more complex pieces of software Autodesk develops could use some attention.

### "Great platform for Document Control"

April 6, 2020

5.0

I think it is a great platform which can be used simply with secured access via the internet

Pros

PWOline is the provider for one of my best document control tools called eB it is a great all rounder enabling me to create individual document references which are then attached to the communications allowing for fantastic control of documentation due to the creation of separate references for documents and communications. These can easily be searched for with the straight for menu options and email notifications when new documentation is sent or received.

Cons

It can be a little confusing with some of the terminology in the menu but once you get to know it, you can easily negotiate your way through them.
