"If you're willing to be frustrated, Lectora is the right app for you."

**Overall:** I used Lectora between Flash-era e-learning and mobile-first e-learning. I am thankful for the knowledge it provided about variables as I move forward into other programs. It's like the C++ of the coding world—wouldn't want to use it but thankful for its foundation.

**Pros:** Lectora can be robust with complex, nested interactivity and can tackle a large product. It is highly customizable and provides professional results.

**Cons:** What I like least about Lectora is that it can sometimes be buggy, which interrupts workflow and slows projects down. The learning curve can also feel steep, especially with the more advanced features, making it a bit overwhelming at times. In addition, while the responsive design tools are helpful, it isn’t very easy to retrofit older, page-size–specific courses into a truly mobile-friendly format. This makes updating legacy content more challenging than expected.

"Lectora, a decent middling software package."

**Overall:** Decent for what it is. Limited and you can tell there hasn't been a ton of development into it over the years. Probably best thing ELB has done when they purchased it.

**Pros:** It's robust feature set and ease of use. Costs. Integrated well with other products.

**Cons:** Only about 3/4 of features of biggest players - Captivate and 360.
