I have had a great experience with the system, from helping to set it up with the City of Savannah to using it daily. the program and the team behind it are top-notch.

Pros

The System is straightforward to use; it has all the tabs you need to organize your daily work. You couldn't ask for much more.

Cons

I don't know, maybe needs something to help with mapping the tickets, or something to prioritize tickets when they are all in the same area.

My experience with BOSS 811 is good. Customer service is also excellent, the team at Boss 811 got back to us very quickly when we needed to update some routing rules for incoming tickets.

Pros

I like being able to search for closed tickets using basically any piece of information such as contractor, location, type of work, etc. BOSS 811 also makes it easy to create routing rules when tickets come in.

Cons

The mapping could use some work. If I enter coordinates into the map search box it will bring me to the incorrect location. I have confirmed this by entering the same coordinates in Google maps and ArcGIS and got a different location.

I have used BOSS811 with two municipalities and have received 100% positive feedback from supervisors and frontline workers.

Pros

BOSS811 streamlines ticket management with a user friendly interface that results in employees eager to use new technology instead of opposing the change! This results in staff buy-in with change implementation beyond BOSS811. Our staff is more efficient and organized because of this.

Cons

I suppose the only negative thing is that the initial impact on efficiencies and how easy this is to use makes it frustrating when trying other new software and technology that is not as user friendly or take longer to notice the benefits.

customer service has always been wonderful and very fast response times. Everytime I had a question or feature request, customer service has been very helpful.

Pros

The routing rules and customization. I like that Boss811 allows me to be in control of the product and how I receive dig tickets.

Cons

None. So far I like everything about Boss811. More customization of the reporting would be helpful but its not needed.

We are small local government with limited resources, the implementation was painless, the apps work perfectly. Keeping track historical locates has been a game changer. Ive been in this industry for 30 years and its rare for an enterprise level software to live to everything the sales person promised.

Pros

What we like most about BOSS811 is the simplicity in managing our locate request. From the top down all involved know exactly what's going on.

Cons

What do we like least about BOSS811, we have yet to find it. Maybe if we could have more granular control over the notifications but I'm being nit picky at this point.

We had been performing locates for our utilities for many years without a ticket management software platform. With the change in the law requiring positive response for all locate tickets we knew we had to find something to make the process smoother or our guys in the field.

Pros

BOSS811 is very intuitive which helps our locate technicians get up to speed on the software very quickly. None of our employees have used the software before, but everyone has found it to be very easy to use.

Cons

Honestly, we have no complaints. The software has done everything we need it to do. We are happy with the function and performance of the platform.

Pros

Boss811 has excellent customer service. Anything I need help with I get a response that day and a fix the next day at the latest. Very willing a quick to add feature to help work run smoother. Has save me and my company countless hours of management.

Cons

When we first started using the app we had an issue with uploading photos on the app but since then it has been fix so have no complaints.

Pros

Improvements in 2025 have been industry leading. Excellent visibility to our tickets in various ways to complete work, data analysis and more.

Cons

Areas of improvement were explored and corrected well during the year. Including the addition of tasks and expanded documents dashboard use.

Wish I could set more than 9 address for my routes. I would like to view to my destination once for my entire day.

Pros

Easily view all tickets in one location across multiple platforms, in any location we may need to view them.

Cons

sometimes it can be buggy, the recent outage made for a complicated day without a solid back up plan

Overall, this is a solid application with great end-user support. Our team has had no issues so far and continue to use it daily

Pros

The ease of setting it up as an administrator is a high point. Having an app on iOS is big for our guys, as they are using iPads in the field and previous systems were browser based.

Cons

Setting up the correct notifications. It took us little time to find out how to setup emergency notifications, but we figured it out.

I don't really have negative comments about BOSS 811 at this time. I didn't like that the system when down, but you got got it back quick.

Overall our experience with BOSS811 has been positive. As stated previously the user friendly software combined with the customer supports swift responses has been amazing. One thing that stuck with us from the demo was that this is a program for locators made by locators, so any feedback can assist in making the software better for everyone.

Pros

BOSS811 is extremely user friendly. Whether it be the app, website, iOS on phone or iPad. This software has enable our locating department to be extremely efficient with their time and capabilities.

Cons

During the couple months in which we have been using the software, I or my staff have not incurred any issues.

We have been thrilled with our experience with BOSS811, their team has been so understanding of our communities needs and has worked with us each step of the way to achieve our goals.

Pros

What I like most about BOSS811 is how easy it is to use, we are a larger community who receives a large amount of PA One Call tickets and this software allows us to manage them efficiently, allow us to stay in compliance with regulations.

Cons

I have not found a feature on BOSS811 that I don't find usefull.

Good. Eliminated recurring charges for landlines, fax machine and supplies.

Pros

It was nice to no longer be dependent on fax machines, land line service, or fax internet services.

Cons

While Boss811 offers custom reporting, for a fee, the finished reports never worked as advertised. As a customer with more than one structure to protect, having a report that includes accurate data organized by structure would save my employee's time. For regulatory purposes, our organization needs to be able to provide data for each individual structure so employees have to collect that data manually.

Pros

I enjoy the ease in searching for tickets with keywords.

Cons

The lack of customization for the dashboard. Having the option of setting up different dashboards and arranging widgets without restrictions would be a nice addition. I also would like widgets capable of giving me results for a more advanced search. The prebuilt widgets limit what I can use the dashboard for.

Pros

Boss811 has helped us streamline our business efficiencies tremendously. We wished that we had heard of the company even sooner! The user friendliness and ability to transfer locates directly to another user and not sending back to the office was a huge benefit for us. Overall, no complaints here and best company decision we have made in a long time. The transition to the new system was a fairly easy process as well.

Cons

No cons that we cannot live with, especially given where we were coming from with the old system.

Pros

As a COOP, we get a lot of locates. BOSS811 sorts the fiber from the electric so I do not have to comb through everything on the electric side.

Cons

Sometimes the app can be clunky but it does have Android and Apple versions.

Simple to use interface which makes it easy to navigate.

Pros

The integration with ArcGIS which helps GIS integrate its maps.

Cons

The inability to prevent somebody from reopening a ticket by simply replying to email. It would nice if when you close a ticket, that after 24 hours it can’t be opened again by somebody saying “thanks” on email reply and only by forcing a person to create new ticket.
