CEO Legal Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Stay on top of tasks" June 28, 2023 5.0 Legal Boards has helped me stay on top of cases and make sure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. My staff does not need to remember to do things, Legal Boards automatically assigns the tasks based on the rules we set up. Pros I love the automation of Legalboards. Cases get put on a track and move through the stages as tasks are done. I can now see the status of all my cases in a single board. It has been game changing. No more trying to remember to do this or who did that. All tasks are there as due or completed. Cons Setting up was a little difficult. But, I was able to pay separately to have a team member set up the boards for my firm. She ran the tests also to make sure all was running correctly. Reason for choosing Legalboards A friend highly recommended and it integrated well with Clio Manage. Their support team is very responsive to questions and feature suggestions. They even created a few custom videos for us when we had questions about features that were outside the scope of their existing tutorials. Pros We love the Kanban visual interface, automations, and two-way sync with Clio. The visual interface is very intuitive and enables a very quick assessment of where we are with each task/matter. The automations are flexible and powerful. They save us hours each week and are great for reminders and follow ups. The two-way Clio sync is great. We only need to input matter information in one place. Cons Visual presentation of task/workload tracking across our entire staff. The information is there, but the visual interface for tables isn't as flexible or intuitive as some other programs. Operations Manager Legal Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Straightforward software for Clio users" September 28, 2020 4.0 Overall it is positive - the staff at Legalboards are helpful and communicative. The software has really helped us organize our projects and streamline our work process. However, there are a few little tweaks here and there that would be nice to have done. Pros It is straightforward to use for a visual person. The cards are easy to set up, and it is easy to understand intuitively how the system works. The integration with Clio is extremely useful for those who use Clio, and it was and continues to be one of the biggest benefits for us. Cons The software is a little buggy at times - even after a user moves a card, it still remains in the column upon refreshing. When setting up a card, it would be nice if you could assign the card to a specific user, instead of having to retroactively go back to edit it. Essentially, the overall software works fine, but there are little things here and there that could be improved. Pros The flexibility of LB allows for a ton of customization in addition to 2-way syncing to practice management software (clio in our case). The main selling feature for me are the automation features. Not only are they great for the internal / case management process (adding tasks based on a variety of trigger options, etc) but the email automation that allows you to email the client at designated triggers (e.g. card movement, task completion, monthly, etc) makes lb VERY unique and as such combines the perks of multiple software / automation systems that firms use. Oh yah, and I forgot to mention the fillable / likable forms you can create for clients and have it on your website, email whatever - great for lead tracking! Perhaps most importantly is the customer service. Everyone on the team is willing to speak with me as I onboarded and thought through best way to set us up!!! Cons Because lb has SOOO many possibilities of use, it can be overwhelming to set up initially. many many many rabbit holes you can go down when thinking through ALL the automation structures!! If you have ever used trello, etc lb may feel slightly less intuitive for a bit (especially if integrated with practice software) simply as a result of everything the product can do! Attorney at Law Legal Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Excellent Product" October 1, 2022 5.0 This really has helped tremendously with the many automated tasks we do as a law firm - assigning them, keeping track of them, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Pros Legalboards was incredibly easy to integrate with my existing practice management software. It fills a huge void in law firm management software, which is to provide kanban style automated task management that's geared specifically towards the legal profession. Cons There currently is a lag between using the Legalboards website and Clio, so automations take a few minutes to run. The user interface can be hard to read and the color scheme is very difficult for some people to see. Reason for choosing Legalboards Its integration with Clio and the fact the entire platform was designed with the concepts of legal matters and tasks within matters in mind. The customer support team has been very helpful and answered any questions I had in a quick manner and other than when I asked for something not currently implemented they have resolved the issue immediately. Pros I have found that the smooth integration with Clio and the automations that are available are the biggest boon for this software. It allows me to set up a system that requires very little manual movements from the primary user (the patent attorney) and allows for just the completion of tasks to keep track of matters on the board. For example, the patent attorney can see what cards are being worked on, mark the task as done, and the card will automatically move to the report column which then emails our reporter to send the client the notice that their matter has been completed. Cons There are not as many automation options as I would like. I would like to have some more cross board automations that are not tied onto a task being completed. There is also a lack of customization options for the information displayed on the cards. You can see the status of matters from a Birdseye view. Thank you Legal boards. Pros Legalboards is very user friendly-- the learning curve is minimal almost a straight out the box software. Support is very user patient and easy to communicate your ideas. Ask for Vera, she was awesome! Legal boards made it easy to visualize the flow of our cases and discover where the bottlenecks were. Cons Although there is nothing I least like about legalboards, there are a few wish items. Custom fields and notes sync with software and access to more payment options. Much cleaner and simpler than Trello or other similar products. I've tried multiple platforms (Trello, Monday.com, etc.). and none worked so well for attorneys. Other services seem to be designed around a product, marketing function, or a major project. This is the first that caters to lawyers with this functionality. Pros We love the kanban functionality and the integration with Clio. We've tried Trello in the past with Zapier, but it was just too complicated for a lot of users. The synergy between Clio Tasks and Notes was a game changer for us. Use the software you have to the fullest extent. This helped us maximize the value of Clio while also putting all our cases on a visual timeline. Customer service has been wonderful as well. Cons As of now, nothing I can readily think of. I am a huge advocate of making work visible, and teach a whole Masterclass on using kanban boards (what we call matter management boards) to track and manage work and workflow in law firms and legal departments. I have seen and worked with many different software platforms. That Legalboards has been created BY lawyers FOR lawyers is significant. The platform has been designed specifically to meet the way lawyers think about and distinguish between the different types of work. One of the most powerful features is the ability to track changes in the status of tasks across a variety of different boards, providing a much more holistic and realistic approach to matter management. Legalboards also does an excellent job of automating workflows around the assignment of tasks as matters progress through their lifecycle. And the integration with Clio makes Legalboards an excellent choice for any firm that is looking to improve its ability to manage even the most complex matters efficiently, effectively, on time and on budget. The development team worked with me until I felt comfortable with using the software and how it integrates with my other system. Pros I "grew up" as a Lean Practitioner and am now working with a Law Firm. Kanban is a great Lean tool and helping to organize how clients progress through the system is something really like about Legalboards. I can easily see at a glance if cases are progressing or if there is a hiccup, then make the correction. Cons I was learning another system that integrates with Legalboards at the same time I was learning Legalboards. I was having a hard time making the connection as well as the overall using of Legalboards. That has since been resolved.
