Generally, our experience with Projectworks has been very good. It has simplified the process of undertaking projects, resource allocation and budget tracking in our team at DishIs Technologies. The reporting features provide complete visibility of the project performance and aids in making more data-driven and quick decisions. There has been increased cooperation since we adopted Projectworks, there are less scheduling issues and we have had more accurate invoicing. It is a stable site that has rendered project management much more effective to us.

Pros

I prefer that Projectworks has provided our team at DishIs Technologies with the opportunity to see all project timelines, resources allocated and budgets in a single location. Reporting dashboards are very flexible and project health can easily be tracked. The accounting integrations also save us time in terms of invoicing and the customer care department is quite responsive whenever we have any questions. It gives great value to money to a developing business.

Cons

The interface is clean and it can be time-consuming when initiating new users. I would like to have a little quicker mobile experience to get updates on the projects on-the-go.

We also changed our Spreadsheet Server owing to the fact that the process of managing projects, time tracking and invoicing using the spreadsheets was proving to be cumbersome and prone to errors. Projectworks have saved us time by offering a centralized and real time visibility solution that has automated reporting and enhanced better resource planning, which has helped us to be better in terms of project profitability.

My overall experience with Projectworks has been positive because it keeps project work, time tracking, and costs all in one place. It helps me stay clear on what I am working on and how the project is progressing. Day to day project handling feels more organized since I can track tasks, time, and expenses without switching between multiple tools. Once I got use to it, it saves time and reduces confusion. It is generally reliable and gives a clear view of progress and budgets, which makes planning and decisions easier.

Pros

Projectworks was easy to get used to, and I did not feel like I needed a lot of training to start working on it. I also liked that it feels secure since I can control who can access important project and employee details. It is good value for money because it covers most day to day project needs in one place. Collaboration is smoother since everyone can see what is going on and who is responsible for what. Tracking expenses is also straightforward, so budgets do not get messy.

Cons

Sometimes it has small bugs that slow me down, like pages not loading properly or needing a refresh to see updates. These issues are not huge, but they are annoying when I am trying to finish work quickly.

My overall experience has been good. Everything is organized in one place, which makes it easier to manage projects and keep track of resources. It has saved us time on daily tasks and improved visibility across the team. Having project management, planning and tracking together in one platform makes work much more efficient.

Pros

I use Projectworks mostly for managing projects and tracking my time. It is easy to use and helps me quickly see project progress, team availability and budgets. The planning tools are really helpful and make it easier to manage workloads without confusion.

Cons

Some settings can be hard to find at first, and I had to spend a bit of time learning where everything was. The interface could be a little simpler in some areas.

### "Reliable project management with Projectworks"

Projectworks really helped me stay on top of my projects and made teamwork a lot smoother. It was easy to track the progress of tasks, so I always knew what was done and what still needed attention. The communication features were great too, allowing my team to stay updated and share information quickly, which helped prevent misunderstandings. However, there were a couple of things I did not love some of the features were a bit complicated, and I found myself getting confused at first. The design wasn’t as simple or clean as I would’ve liked, so navigating the platform sometimes felt a little tricky. Despite these issues, the overall experience was great. It made managing projects and keeping everything organized much easier, and the positives definitely outweighed the few drawbacks.

Pros

I liked how easy it was to get started. The learning curve was smooth, so I did not have to spend a lot of time figuring things out. It also felt secure, with strong protection for my data and clear access controls, so I knew my information was safe. The platform is definitely worth the money, as it offers a lot of features that help keep projects organized and save time. Collaboration with my team was seamless, with real-time updates, shared tasks, and easy document sharing. While there were a few minor bugs here and there, they were quickly addressed by the support team. Managing user access was also simple, allowing me to control who sees and edits what. Lastly, the billing was clear and straightforward, with flexible payment plans that fit my team’s budget.

Cons

The design of the platform works, but it is not always easy to use. Some parts felt a bit messy, and it took me some time to figure out how things worked. A simpler and cleaner design would make it much easier for new users to find their way around without getting confused.

Project works has made managing our projects, budgets, and resourcing far simpler. The visibility and reporting are excellent, and the Xero integration saves us a lot of admin time. Overall, it’s been a smooth and reliable system that fits how we work.

Pros

Project works provides a clear overview of projects, resourcing, and financial performance all in one place. The ability to forecast revenue and staff utilisation makes it much easier to plan workloads and manage budgets. The interface is intuitive once set up, and the reporting tools are powerful for monitoring performance at both project and company level. Their support team is also responsive and genuinely helpful.

Cons

Some areas can feel like a slow process, for example, editing timesheets or retroactively updating project budgets requires extra steps. The integration options could be broader, and the initial setup and permissions configuration can take time to get right. However, once implemented, the system runs smoothly.

Pros

I like that Projectworks provides excellent support and intuitive onboarding, making the initial setup very smooth. The tool effectively aids in project financial management through time tracking, invoicing, expense management, and internal project management. It offers significant insights through great data analytics and flexibility in formats, helping in tracking multiple organizations within a single tool. The custom reporting feature stands out as a distinct advantage, providing necessary differentiation and value. Additionally, the responsive team facilitates a seamless transition by efficiently uploading historic data. The fidelity of the user privileges, and the single-sign on for security are big positives too.

Cons

I find that the expenses management feature in Projectworks is still a bit of an afterthought. It's frustrating that I can't email receipts with invoices automatically or generate a comprehensive expense report. Additionally, linking an expense ID to the breakdown report is not possible, limiting the depth of financial tracking and reporting. The lack of these features makes managing expenses more cumbersome than it should be.

I've used Projectworks for project management for about two years after switching from WorkflowMax, driven by its seamless integration, user-friendly interface, and adaptive features. While the transition was smooth, I wish for better invoicing capabilities directly within Projectworks. Despite this, I'd rate it a nine for recommendation, mainly due to its excellent customer service and adaptability.

Pros

I love Projectworks for its user-friendly nature, making data adaptation and timesheet entry modifications straightforward, and invoicing exceptionally easy. Its functionality is well-suited for forecasting and provides a clear snapshot of our workload and progress with its efficient dashboard and intuitive interface. This allows both administrators and project managers to quickly access necessary information. Additionally, Projectworks' adaptability is impressive as it evolves with technology, notably in AI integration, and continuously develops to cater to customer needs. The custom reporting feature is a major advantage, helping us utilise data efficiently. Transitioning from WorkflowMax to Projectworks was exceptionally smooth, facilitated by a responsive and supportive team who made sure our custom fields were integrated seamlessly, enabling a quick operational start. Their openness to feedback and dedication to enhancing the product stands out, supported by a fantastic support team that offers prompt solutions and follow-ups. Moreover, Projectworks' integration with Xero for financial management is incredibly beneficial, ensuring a streamlined workflow for invoice management.

Cons

The inability to directly invoice from Projectworks and add necessary attachments from our server is one area they could enhance. Currently, I have to export invoices to Xero, as I can't modify the email or include additional attachments directly within Projectworks. I wish Projectworks had the capability for customising emails as you are sending them out and attaching documents from our server, to streamline the invoicing process entirely within the platform.

As a consulting firm, we needed a platform that truly understands how we work — one flexible enough to manage complex projects with varying rates, roles, and timelines. The newest updates have made a noticeable difference, with a cleaner interface and improved usability that makes navigating projects much smoother. What really sets this tool apart is the ability to see profit margins by project and adjust costs directly at the project level — that insight has been invaluable for keeping both our financials and staffing in balance. Unlike other software we’ve tried that never quite fit our workflow, this platform delivers a seamless experience across financial, people, and project management functions. Finally, their customer support team is exceptional — highly responsive, even across time zones, and genuinely committed to finding solutions. They stay with you until your issue is resolved. It’s a rare combination of capability, adaptability, and service that makes this platform stand out.

Cons

ProjectWorks does take a little time to get accustomed to. Some of the language and functions weren’t as intuitive as what I was used to with other tools. However, once I spent a bit of time exploring and becoming more familiar with the system, it became super easy to use and the layout made much more sense.

### "Effortless Invoicing and Xero Integration"

We changed into it after another system went through and tbh, I don't know why any business charging by the hour would be still using spreadsheets and manual invoices.

Pros

I like that it just works; we can generate invoices almost instantly after completion of timesheets; it integrates very well with Xero, our accounting software.

Cons

In the couple of instances we have needed support, it has been a little bit slow to get support - but mostly we don't need support.

### "Long time user, avid fan!"

Projectworks has become a central part of how we run our business. It’s intuitive for all staff, provides good insight, and makes month-end and forward planning far easier. The support team is proactive and helpful, and new features are released regularly. We’re big fans.

Pros

The biggest win is the integration of delivery, resourcing, and financials into a single, intuitive platform. Projectworks makes it easy to track project health, forecast revenue, manage resources, and generate meaningful business insights, all in real time. It’s built for services firms so doesn't have unnecessary or unused functionality. The UX is very intuitive, reporting is robust, and implementation was straightforward.

Cons

While the product is constantly evolving and the roadmap is transparent, it would be useful to link fee forecasting with resourcing as one drives the other. That said, the team has always been open to feedback and quick to respond to support queries.

The customer service and troubleshooting experience has been second to none, and I love that the company is so receptive to feedback and is continuing to build a platform that is so customiseable that we can use it across a range of projects that are quite bespoke in nature.

Pros

We love the user interface Projectworks offers. Our fees are often slightly different structures both in terms of fee and resourcing and we are able to create each project and key deliverables to match this. The customer service is also excellent!

Cons

We had a bit of trouble with the way the manual / historical data imported in to Projectworks - in hindsight, perhaps the onboarding around this could have been clearer. But this has been easy enough to mitigate!

Experience has been great from investigating solutions, trialling, implementation and now daily use.

Pros

Projectworks saves us time processing month-end and gives us good insights. Projectworks was easy to implement and is easy to use, and our team was up and running quickly. We receive great customer support, and the team is very responsive. We use Projectworks daily to manage our opportunities, projects and pipeline.

Cons

Inability to save views—We can view data in different ways, but we need to set it up every time we want to look at things differently.

Regarding saving views - have you come across the "Remember my selection" option under the 'Filters...' dropdown? This lets you save and revisit the filters you have chosen. Additionally, the configuration you choose under "Hide/show/group" will default to how you have grouped/shown columns when you revisit. Pros

ease of use, customer support, flexibility, interface, tools, available reports, insights into budgets and financials.

Cons

limitations with calculating exact staff costs, not factoring leave into it, unable to compare total billable work vs available work. I also do not like that you can only add blocks of 5 users at at time, rather than 1 user.

Overall, my experience has been good. Projectworks was implemented to streamline timesheets and invoicing which it has done very well. The fact that it all integrates with Xero is an added bonus.

Pros

Easy to use, integrates well with Xero, Timesheets are great, invoicing is easy, reasonably priced..

Cons

Invoice format could be improved. Expenses don't integrate with payroll. For example vehicle expenses/reimbursement.

I really enjoy using it, the UI is very easy to get used to. Excellent program/software to help with operational and project management. I am excited to see what other features are coming up!

Pros

Viewing the current and projected margins have been wonderful to see and being able to see the forecasted income really helps the business strategically think of next steps to further grow. The tech support has been amazing and are always quick to respond. When I make technical errors, they have always been able to amend them without any trouble. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] has been excellent during the training process and I rarely contact support for queries as the software is quite intuitive.

Cons

I still find myself getting data from Projectwork and putting them on a spreadsheet to get more pieces of insight that would be good for the team to present. The integration with Xero has been good but at the beginning, with syncing them with the employees on Xero, we were having issues with the rate cards not accruing leave. Which created some issues with what employees were supposed to be accruing, etc.

Pros

When we found Projectworks I was immediately engaged. The Project Reporting & Metrics allow us to interrogate the system. There is a good library of reports to get you by, but Projectworks also has the capability to produce custom reports. Our PMO integrates Projectworks with Power BI to present a bit more detail in the dash boarding. Integrating with Xero its good but I am not sure if we are utilising the full potential. As our Software Engineering use Azure Dev Ops it will be good to see the integration, which is currently in a beta state, advance to generally available. Projectworks are advancing with new features all the time and communicate their product roadmap well. I look forward to more development

Cons

I have found the Custom Report feature complex, and would like to see it made simpler.

Once you get comfortable with the more complex features, it becomes a reliable tool that improves planning, accountability, and profitability.

Pros

what I liked most about Projectworks is how seamlessly it connects project planning, time tracking, and financial reporting in one place. The interface feels clean and intuitive, so managing tasks and monitoring progress never felt overwhelming.

Cons

the main downside of Projectworks is that some of the more advanced features take a bit of time to fully understand. There’s a learning curve when exploring deeper financial or reporting tools. I also found that customization options could feel somewhat limited depending on what you want to tailor.

With projectworks we can keep an eye on time entries and work done by our team memebers. We have instant information about project budget and we can issues invoice for our customers with hours and information booked by team members.

Pros

Everything is instant, works very smooth, it has implemented all features that our business needs. Regular updates keep the app better every time

### "Simple, clear, and easy to use"

Overall, it’s been really positive. Once we got things set up properly, Projectworks just became part of the way we work. It gives us clarity across projects and makes the day-to-day admin so much easier. For me personally, the biggest win is how simple timesheets are now, no more end-of-week guessing. And with the new redesign, everything feels faster and more intuitive. It’s one of those tools that doesn’t get in the way. It just helps you stay organised and on top of things.

Pros

I like that everything is in one place. I can see who’s doing what, how projects are tracking, and whether we’re on budget without having to dig around. It feels simple and clean, and it just makes sense. And the new redesign is a big plus, it feels fresher and even easier to navigate, which makes the day-to-day stuff quicker.

Cons

Honestly, not much. The setup takes a bit of thought, especially if you want everything to line up with how you actually work. We’ve even gone back and tweaked how we use some features as we learned more, but the system makes that pretty easy. Other than that, no real deal-breakers. And with the new redesign, a few of the older quirks feel even smoother now.

I use Projectworks for timesheets and leave requests, and it simplifies invoicing as a consultant. I love its simplicity and ease of use, which saves time on timesheets. The initial setup was very simple, and I rate it a 10 for recommendations.

Nothing of note, I think the platform is simple and effective for what it needs to do. Further integrations for invoicing could be a handy future product.

### "Timelines, Reminders, and Visual Dashboards Keep Our Projects on Track"

We were looking for a single tool to take care of most like calculating the project costs, time tracking and forecasting our revenue. Projectworks does exactly that and helps us manage our project across the onsite and remote team with a single tool with ease.

Pros

My fav features are the timelines and reminders. The time tracking works well too and keep us on track of all the project deadlines. Reports and dashboard are visual which are especially useful when coordinating across different teams and easy to share with our partners.

Cons

User interface looks great but when using the experience is bit hard. So what would be better for the users, is that only essential features can be near like on sidebar and advanced or less used features can be under the settings so it be easy for lite users.

My experience with ProjectWorks has been great. I am still learning more & more ways in which it can be used.

Pros

I love the simplicity of this software. The usership is intuitive and it can be adjusted to suit the exact needs of the user.

Cons

Initially, the software can be a little overwhelming due to the number of different ways it can be set up. Once you have a ProjectWorks champion in the office though, who understand the ins and outs, it really can be kept quite simple.

### "Many "wow this is powerful" moments...."

Many "wow this is powerful" moments...this says a lot. The more we dug the more we found we could do. Having said that, with flexibility comes complexity, so you need to understand the interdependencies and ensure that you use filtering properly to get the results you need. this is not difficult, just something to be conscious of.

Pros

We are a rapidly growing organisation and were looking for something that would help us scale. We selected ProjectWorks after reviewing a few solutions with an initial focus on timesheets & Xero integration. This was achieved quickly and painlessly. We then shifted our focus to resource management and forecasting. As we explored ProjectWorks capabilities, we had many "wow this is powerful" moments. We now use ProjectWorks for timesheets, invoicing (integrated with Xero), resource management and forecasting. Like all things, there is a discipline involved to get the full benefit, but the insights and benefits you get are well worth it.

Cons

Expanded capabilities to deal with parent child projects - most of it is there as you can track separate budgets and time within a project, but resourcing cannot be tracked by budget yet....this is apparently coming in late 2023
