"Powerful platform, but not without its friction."

**Pros:** Recharge has been the backbone of our startup’s subscription program. Once it’s set up right, it just works. It syncs cleanly with Shopify, integrates easily with Klaviyo and Smile.io, and gives customers the flexibility to manage their own orders — skipping, swapping, or rescheduling without needing to contact support. From a CS and retention standpoint, that’s gold. The reporting tools are solid enough to get quick insights, and automations in the cancel flow make it easy to offer discounts or win-backs on the spot. For the price, it’s a fair tradeoff between control and convenience. You get enterprise-level stability without the enterprise-level bloat. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable. We’ve built everything from loyalty incentives to customized subscriber experiences on top of it. For a subscription-heavy brand, it’s one of those “set it up and breathe easier” tools.

**Cons:** The admin experience can feel outdated and clunky — like it’s still catching up to modern UX. Certain workflows (like ongoing discounts or custom shipping rules) require workarounds that should really be native by now. Customer support is hit-or-miss: some agents are fantastic, but others copy-paste unhelpful docs and vanish. Reporting could also be more visual and dynamic; exporting CSVs shouldn’t be the default way to get insight in 2025.
