MarkUp.io is a collaborative visual feedback and review platform that helps teams collect clear, contextual comments directly on websites, images, PDFs, videos, and 30+ other file types. Teams can upload content, create MarkUps from live websites, share review links with clients or stakeholders, and manage feedback in one centralized workspace. Guest reviewers do not need to create an account to leave feedback. They can open a shared link, click directly on the content, and comment. This makes review cycles easier for clients, stakeholders, and external collaborators while helping teams reduce back-and-forth, avoid scattered feedback, and cut down review loops by up to 80%. MarkUp also includes a Chrome extension so users can create new MarkUps directly from their browser. Indifferent. Their chat support was essentially "If you don't like it, too bad. We can give you 30 days to get your shi but then we're deleting all of your projects markups unless you pay 280% increase.

Pros

It used to be a solid and relaible program to use when we needed better collaboration with our clients. We'd used it for years.

Cons

WOW! Markup.io just went up 280% from last year to this year. Markup has sent a strong message that the businesses who helped them build, can take a flying f-off. - No feature upgrade to justify the dramatic increase. - No communication with customers about the increase. - Completely removed Free and Small Buinsess teirs. - No grandfathering for businesses who have supported them for years, no discount, no loyalty bonus...nothing but.... Pay the 280% upgrade, or they DELETE your entire space and all projects. No archives, no grace period, nothing. Do NOT trust your client projects to Markup.io. Their business model is not trustworthy and they will pull the rug out from under you if it benefits their bottom line.

It's easy and got even better with the updates. (which doesn't happen often). They have continuously improved it, e.g. the comments functionalities. They also added new features (e.g. video) which is fantastic as I can do everything in one app instead of having to use frame.io in addition. They also invite me for early release, feedback sessions, etc. wand show great initiative to build a community.

Pros

love that they have now included markup function for videos, so it's my all-in-one go-to tool for creative collaboration. I contacted help twice and got a reply fairly quickly.

Cons

it started off as completely free which was an incredibly helpful tool. Now, they have reduced the number of folders/files you can have, so it's still great but limiting without the Pro version.

Pros

It's so easy to mark an online page, review the comments and resolve them. You can also switch from one mode to another letting you add comments or browse the pages.

Cons

You can only add a "bubble" and not a delete, add, highlight, etc like you would do in Adobe with a PDF

The biggest benefit was getting feedback from customers without having to twist several emails and files so that the projects move forward, they can test and leave their comments that after we receive them we make the necessary changes. We are aware of all changes and always receive notifications about developments.

Pros

I love the link sharing feature so my clients can give their feedback on the evolution of website and web app development.

Cons

I think the price is quite high for a tool that has specific purposes.

Pros

Prior to MarkUp, my team was using PMS tasks with checklists to outline necessary edits for the websites we manage. It was successful but definitely had room for improvement to save the team time from having to intricately describe needed edits along with gathering and uploading screenshots. We started envisioning a product like MarkUp and began our research. By the time we got to MarkUp, it was a bit shocking to see our dream actually existed. Along with being EXACTLY what we needed, MarkUp is super user friendly making training and implementing a breeze. The navigation and overall use is very straight forward. I also like how easy it is to share the projects/edits so that you can link them any type of task so it can still be actionable item for our team. We did start with a free trial to make sure it was the right product for us and when we were ready to upgrade, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was our guy. He took a lot of great care in learning about how we use the product to get us on the right plan. He also did some additional training to help us better organize our structure and workflow to make it more successful and get better use with the our Plan. Really appreciated how informative he was as well as making sure we were taken care of!

Cons

At this time the only thing that comes to mind is that we use one project per site and edits may come in at different times. It'd help with our QC process if we could potentially archive older resolved edits so that we can still access them but not have such a long running list of "resolved comments" that you have to sort through to make sure the current task was completed.

Pros

Price: It's free Ease of use: It will take you 30 seconds to figure out how it works for both you & your client Features: You can leave text comments and even attach files to the comments which are very useful if the client wants to change the media in a particular section

Cons

It is free software – at least as of now, so I don't think I can provide any con based on the value it provides at no charge.

Pros

I am very excited about MarkUp and have been using it for quite a while now. The biggest plus is that it's free and makes my workflow so much easier. I can create a "MarkUp" from a design draft, share the link with my clients and they can comment directly live on the website. Also, the team is very dedicated, constantly coming out with new features and actively involving users in further development with surveys. I really don't want to miss MarkUp anymore! And the Chrome-Extension makes it even easier to create a new MarkUp right from an open Tab.

Cons

There are only two small points that need to be improved (but the team is already doing it, I think): the loading times need to be reduced, sometimes it takes almost a minute to load a website in MarkUp and add comments. Also it would be great if there would be a translation or you could translate predefined text modules yourself. PS: My customers are confused because they see the Intercom bubble from MarkUp Support and think they can chat with me there.

It worked well for our needs. It's easy for web designers to get feedback from clients.

Pros

We used this for our new church website to allow a number of people to provide feedback. It worked well for gathering everyone's input.

Cons

Sometimes comments get lost and some of the site's designs changed a little bit when viewed with markup. Lots of bugs, but nothing critical.
