As the business owner, AMI is simply amazing. All of the functions and what AMI can do for GAS I cant really put a price on it.

Pros

Extremely user friendly and accessible to everyone.

Cons

None, I do not have any cons that we have seen. We have had extensive use of the system with no short falls at this time.

Reason for choosing AMI MX

We first purchased the inventory carts. Once I started using AMI.....our business has simply "Blown UP" with all it can do. The support team at AMI is the real value with AMI. When we started using it, I couldn't believe all the functions, parts inventory, pricing, vendors and customers. Being able to use the log book features has saved me HUNDREDS of hours and its it such a professional format. (I used to hand jam on and Excel spread sheet for my log book stickers. Now, using AMI we print right from the program to our DYMO 4XL label writer. They are packaging shipping labels formatted and the stick right in the log books. No other program comes close to AMI....SOLD on it and the support has helped us personalize our use by adding and adjusting forms and some formatting for inspections. SIMPLY THE BEST PROGRAM I HAVE EVER USED.

Using both EBIS III and RAMCO from previous business, these 2 systems are just horrible. Not user friendly a way to complicated to move parts from inventory and sign off squawks. It would become extremely frustrating operating systems.

Unlike other programs with the zero cost of this program it helped us by allowing us to employ additional staff to improve our service. It has helped increase our ability to accurately maintain our inventory. It has speed up our time per aircraft when it comes down to paperwork, thus increasing our productivity.

Pros

The maintenance and work order system is extremely user friendly and fits well to our company's needs. Customer support is amazing they have helped us through the evolution of the program and are always open to information that could possibly improve the program for all users. The direct parts ordering is a great feature.

Cons

Reports, are difficult to understand. The lack of ability to have overdeveloped Inspections. When selecting tools for work orders it resets to the top of the page after each tool is selected.

### "Middle of the road"

Having an aviation based business software with integrated inventory control at a reasonable cost is invaluable.

Pros

Integration was pretty easy, and it was easy to learn. My favorite part is the technician's ease of use once set up with the app. There are some great features that are very intuitive.

Cons

It feels like there's too much repetition of information input. I.E. I shouldn't have to re-input the description for a part, just because I want to correct the price. When we first started using AMI we couldn't reorder squawks in a work order. That feature was quickly added, with one caveat; while the warning is that you should re-issue the traveller, the order doesn't actually change on the reprint of the traveller. That means the feature is only available to the admin personnel and not the technicians, who need it the most. There are similar issues with the billing, quote, invoice. These documents function independently, and revert back to previous information when attempting a change. It's the little things that make for extra work, or don't allow proper streamlining of the work that are most frustrating.

I would not be using this software if it was not for Jeremey and his amazing tech support. As this is a fast paced environment and spending a ton of time trying to figure out what you are doing wrong isn't always possible, having him help walk you through mistakes or steps missed has been a huge help.

Pros

It was built and designed around Aviation maintenance. There are a ton of features and options to make work flow easier.

Cons

If you start out not knowing the correct way to use a feature and do it wrong there is a big time suck of having to fix it all. The manual is great but not always idiot proof. More training videos are always helpful. "The down side is if you make something idiot proof the world will just make a better idiot."

Reason for choosing AMI MX

So far this has been a free program and an amazing platform to work off of. I hope in the future it is not overly expensive and parts ordering exposure helps offset the cost of the software.

Pros

Ease of Use, Web based (unlike EBis that’s server based), Usable across all platforms from MacBooks to my iPhone when I’m in the field.

Cons

None that I can think of. They are quick to make changes to better the software and are very open to adding new features.

My previous program was not web based so it was very difficult to work off site. AMI has solved that problem!

Pros

One of the best features is the “N” number lookup with the FAA and then transfer to a customer with all of the info.. Being able to email the Quotes & Invoices with ease is great.

Cons

I wish they would add a shipping section to bill to the Work Orders. I used AVM since 1994 so transitioning was different for the first week, but \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] ha been great to get answers/help from.

### "Unbelievable Value in MRO Software"

We started our business with AMI after exploring a few other options. As a new shop, cash flow is limited while start-up costs (particularly capital expenses) are quite high. As we explored software to allow us to start as an entirely paperless business, we found that the competing solutions, though very feature-rich, came with sales and support models that were simply non-starters for us. For example, one vendor charged for each "module", and the charges were not cheap. By the time we added up everything we needed, the anticipated costs wouldn't pencil out. Getting started with AMI was simple. Our user find the software intuitive and can be immediately productive with a minimal learning curve.

Pros

AMI is very fully featured and competitive with other MRO software. The fact that AMI is free is an enormous advantage and easily compensates for its few shortcomings. We love that it seemlessly integrates with a world-class distributor of aircraft parts that understands the needs of certificated repair stations, and has those features built right into the software. Customer responsiveness is also superb. When issues transpire, I can be sure of receiving support within the day (usually immediately) to solve my problems. In the rare case where we identify bugs, they are often fixed the same day we report them. Meanwhile, the support team bends over backwards to minimize any business impact. As an example, my accountant wanted me to provide certain specialized reports. I presumed I would have to generate these myself using Excel. I mentioned this to the AMI team, and they took the initiative to deliver all my needed reports by the end of the weekend. Another aspect that we love is that AMI is entirely cloud-based. We can use it anywhere we have connectivity. Availability has been outstanding. Not once have we not been able to do our work because the site was down for maintenance or some other reason.

Cons

AMI, as it is today, does almost everything you would need an MRO system to do. AMI is relatively new software and under constant development. Consequently, it does lack some features that are available in the bigger name MRO packages. For example, digital signature management does not currently exist, though it is on the list of forthcoming features. Most of the missing features are in the "nice to have" category, and we have developed work-arounds in our business processes while we wait for them to be eventually implemented. One thing we'd like to see is a revamping of the companion ALI app that allows using a smartphone to do aircraft inspections.

Our business thrives with the ability to have such great information at a mouse click. AMI helps us keep our customers safe through their FAA Airworthiness Directives checks. We can quickly look at job status, complete with our technicians notes on what was done in their shift. Also, we save immense amounts of time with the connection between our real-time inventory and connecting those parts to a job with the click of a tablet or phone. I have yet to use software that provides such valid information in an easy-to-use format.

Pros

With AMI, our business just flows. This software is easy to set up as an owner, easy to train to employees, yet manages every aspect of your workflow. Employees can easily manage their time, saving employers the hassle of "nagging" employees to find physical paper copies or to search for tasks that need completion. From a customer standpoint, we manage and store every aspect of our customer interaction with AMI. This helps to standardize processes across your business, allowing owners to view reports that can show everything from productivity to profit. Keep it up AMI! We appreciate everything you give owners to make life easier!

Cons

As with any software, the information stored is only helpful if it is accurate. AMI developers have made many changes the give you the ease of use, ease of management, and the ability to quickly add correct data. I have found it most important to really look at the "How To" guides so that our business can make the most of this software. I look forward to additional "Warning" options that can help managers note missing information.

With AMI, full integration will mean you need fewer input levels to keep the facility running smoothly. By receiving low stock notifications, profit and loss with each project, and organizing job documentation workload is largely reduced across the company.

Pros

Its full-circle, AMI takes care of our projects from quote to completion, simplifies documentation, and provides a cost of doing business that suits our needs. Coupled with the inventory side and tool crib, it makes a small task of work that would require multiple people in other antiquated environments. AMI allows me to personally maintain inventory and project documentation in a few hours per week instead of a full-time position.

Cons

The hardest part of fully integrating AMI is only the decision to integrate AMI. It gets easier the more you rely on it. The customer service keeps the cons list away. My only complaint is that the data is not locally stored or backed up for completed jobs. A way to port completed jobs where it archives the information on our backups would be a bonus.

### "GREAT PROGRAM"

I have touched just about every corner of it. I have not used each component yet though.

Pros

Being someone that is going through the process of getting my repair certification, this software is priceless. It lines up perfectly with what the FAA is looking for in Work Order/Part/Test Equipment tracking. I have not even scratched the surface on what the program is capable of and it has already given me a head start. I would estimate that this program has saved me at least 40 hours of work designing and building a method to do what it does, and then it would be no where near as capable.

Cons

I would say at this time the only Con is that there are still improvements being made. Every now and then bugs pop up that I have to work around, but it has never stopped me from getting done what I need to.

Reason for choosing AMI MX

The price tag was unmatched. For what this software is and what it cost was perfect for someone like me that is just getting started.

One of the best part of the software is that continued customer service if you find a bug or an item that just doesn't work for you they will try their best to fix or make it work for your company specific

I would like to say more changes being able to number each individual things out of sequential order if work order, and change some dates that are hard coded as you print
