### "Easily create 3D models with best rendering"

August 2, 2021

5.0

3ds Max is a must-have tool for architects, engineers, and game developers to create highly detailed models with real-looking textures.

Pros

With 3ds Max you can easily create complex 3d models and maps. Best suited for architectural and game rendering that requires premium graphics. Inbuilt support for visual effects and animation.

Cons

The pricing of 3d Max is quite expensive starting from $215 per month. The user interface looks old, makes difficult to find important tools and features. Needs heavy computing power.

### "Probably the most professional modelling program"

August 1, 2022

5.0

I use 3ds max modelling when the project requires a higher level of detail than average, or when the model has very organic shapes.

Pros

This software allows to develop very advanced modelling ready to use at professional level without the need to install plugins for special functions, and allowing an organic modelling.

Cons

The 3ds Max interface is intimidating and takes a little longer to learn to use.

I had to make the change because models involving high complexity are only possible with 3ds max.

### "3Ds Max Abilities "

January 22, 2026

5.0

Great experience I learned a lot about 3d design, animation, rigging, textures, and physics. Highly recommend this software to anyone interested in 3D design and modeling

Pros

The ability to create 3d objects and characters. I used it often to design rooms and create 3d renderings of buildings and homes. They way this program works I really understood how to create stuff. The ease of putting on textures and creating your own was mind blowing. Animating stuff was easy as well. Being able to animate and edit multiple camera views in one project chefs kiss

Cons

The cost of this software is so high but I kinda understand why it does.so much. The newer version never had major updates so it made it difficult to update constantly. Also I didn't like that you couldn't open projects from older version.

### "Impresionante herramienta para renderizar"

August 19, 2021

5.0

In my case I have used it more than anything as a complement to some architectural renderings that I do, but in the future I am very interested in using it again as a video game developer, I think it is a software that has much more potential than what I could use.

Pros

I am fascinated by the results that can be achieved with this software, it is very customizable down to the smallest detail, without a doubt I was quite surprised.

Cons

I do not know if there are things that I do not like, it is definitely a product that should be used with time, and with all the characteristics it has, many things I had to find how to do, it is not very user-friendly in the sense in which As soon as you use it, you can guess where to click for each thing you want to do, but I don't think it is something negative since that would remove many aspects of customization from the 3d models.

### "Outstanding 3D Tools, Disappointing Business Direction"

August 22, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with 3ds Max was excellent from a creative and technical standpoint. It delivered industry-leading 3D modeling, rendering, and animation tools that I used daily for many years. The software more than justified its high price when ownership was an option. Unfortunately, my journey with it ended when the subscription model was introduced. Despite decades of loyalty and thousands of dollars invested, I am now excluded unless I commit to perpetual payments. That business model does not respect past investment and has forced me to abandon what was once an essential tool.

Pros

3ds Max was one of the most powerful and versatile 3D design and animation tools I ever used. For over two decades, it was central to my work — from modeling and rendering to animation and visualization. The software’s depth of features, stability, and ability to produce professional-quality results made it an industry leader. It was worth the significant upfront investment when ownership and upgrade options were available.

Cons

The introduction of the subscription-only model was the breaking point. I originally paid over $6,000 for a perpetual license and invested heavily in every upgrade path for years. That investment has now been disregarded. Being forced into ongoing payments simply to retain access makes long-term users feel punished rather than valued. This pricing model is unsustainable for me and ultimately drove me away from the software.

Agents can present virtual tours of new listings to impress international buyers and reduce the time from viewing to offer by providing immersive visual experiences.

Pros

Commentators applaud the realistic rendering and flexible modeling features, which support smooth virtual home tour customization and draw out compelling property attributes for buyers.

Cons

Other critics resent the cumbersome interface and attribute feature overload in hindering novices, particularly where rapid turnaround is required for high-pressure client presentations.

### "Evolve design skills"

November 4, 2025

4.0

Back in 2014, my first encounter with 3DsMax was after AutoCAD. It was helpful to take advantage of this tool to render my ideas, plans, and concepts from 2D to 3D. Gives a real feel of the project and a milestone for architects to put the customer in their shoes.

Pros

An amazing rendering tool helping architects to develop skills in video editing and animation to animate a 3D project virtually in full. Definitely a game changer in digital twin ability to make a project evolve on 3D, 4D, and 5D (Time and cost). Many important features, especially with AI nowadays, that help customer support and maintenance through the lifecycle of a design project.

Cons

Hard to teach a newbie. Not the best user-friendly interface, a bit complex for non-architect / designer natives. Would be more helpful to simplify some features and interface for anyone (not only professional) to be able to render.

### "3D Max: Complex yet Satisfactory"

January 9, 2026

4.0

It is complicated, costly and time-consuming at best, but the output we get at end covers up for everything. So, a solid 9/10

Pros

I have been using AutoCAD for more than 10 years and 3D Max for 5+ yrs. Although they have separate set of commands, having similar user interface is so user-friendly and easy to work with. Also, we can easily convert the 3D file from 3D Max to Auto CAD without any hassle and less cleaning up is required.

Cons

With all due respect to the outstanding feature of 3D Max, it is highly expensive especially for a beginner.

### "More comfort and faster work"

May 2, 2025

I've used it in my personal work, and without mentioning any other programs, its method is easy and simple to use. I felt like it was my friend who helped me create my designs.

Pros

I am a graphic designer and I always need it in my work and it helps me a lot to the point that I recommended it to my friends at work and everyone liked it

Cons

It should be faster, simpler, and more user-friendly, adding new symbols is always needed by graphic designers.

### "One of the best software for modelling and rendering"

July 22, 2021

5.0

I've always used it for architectural modelling and rendering, it's one of the most complex programs I've ever learned to use, and while it's totally worth it, it was a tiring process. It has tools that you rarely get to use and you can get lost and frustrated when you are just learning. Sometimes it has taken me hours to apply certain parameters to the model, but the equipment I have has a lot to do with that. The features that your computer should have to run the program are very complex, but somehow you are aware of that because of the use of the program. The evolution of the software is constant and it adapts to the different needs that you have, at least in my case in the area of architecture. And at the end of the day it is a program for professionals, if you are not willing or do not have the time to learn to use it, you may not like it or believe that it does not work when it is not the case.

Pros

It is complex but becomes a fast and easy workflow once you know how to use it, it is accessible for students and it is one of the "basic" programmes that you will have to use in your working life. The final product in both modeling and rendering is complete and professional. Both at school and at work it is used all the time. It is adaptable and compatible if you want to work with other programs, both for importing and exporting. And it becomes indispensable for the production management of a final architectural project.

Cons

The time it can take for a person to learn how to use it is very long. You have to do constant work and have knowledge in other areas so that the tools make more sense and you can work more easily with it. Start to slow down with complex projects and it can take a considerable amount of time to get a good end result.

### "3ds Max Software Review"

September 29, 2022

4.0

Pros

It’s important to know the software you are using, and while 3ds max is the industry standard for 3d modeling it is not always the most user-friendly software. It’s certainly one of the best known and respected, however. The main interface consists of three windows which let you enter data, view your model and work in detail. The basic window features have an easy to understand format and work well with the interface. Most of the basic settings are available through the right-hand button menus on the interface and the basic controls are easy to use. In many ways it is similar to photoshop in that there is an extensive array of control options, though some are quite more accessible in 3ds max than photoshop. If you are a newcomer to 3d max then it can be a bit of a challenge but once you know the interface you can move around the software quickly and easily. It’s important to understand that not all 3d max features are available all the time – only those which are enabled are active. Many of the features of the software are disabled when not in use so while you can create complex models in max you can’t actually use the model. You can still have the model – just not use it. Models are often referred to as meshes. There are different types of mesh. To create a standard box you will need a surface mesh and you will also need at least three vertices – three dots – on the box for the front face, and on each of the four sides.

Cons

To remove material from the model, press the delete tool and the material name will appear in the menu To add a new material to the model, press the material button and the menu will appear The modeler tools include ‘move’ and ‘scale’, which let you manipulate the vertices of the model, the ‘delete’, ‘delete edge loops’ and ‘split edge loops’ tools which let you simplify the model or change the shape of the model, and the ‘edge tools’, ‘plane tools’, and ‘edge loop tools’ which lets you create and modify models. The standard modeling tools available are ‘move’ and ‘scale’, ‘delete’, ‘delete edge loops’ and ‘split edge loops’, ‘edge tools’, ‘plane tools’, and ‘edge loop tools’. Once you understand the basics you can create very sophisticated models in 3d max, but like any modeling package it takes a little getting used to. A surface modeling tool such as a sphere tool, will draw a face on the model. A ‘point tool’, such as a vertex tool, will pick out a number of points around the model. If you then select the ‘select tool’ a menu appears, letting you select the shape you want to do, such as picking out a number of points on the surface. To create more complicated models it is often easier to select groups of vertices, then use the standard tools to bend the model in various ways to produce the required shape.

### "Motion Graphics World"

May 11, 2022

5.0

Being a motion graphic designer, its helps daily. I use it to create beautiful 3D montages, text and animation.

Pros

Being a motion graphic designer I use this software from last 15 yrs. I find this software very user friendly and less complicated compared to other 3D softwares. I love its texturing UI, its so user friendly. From modelling to animation, you don't need to switch to other software. Its a full package for realistic 3D output.

Cons

I think they need to work more on dynamics, there is scope of improvement in dynamics part.

So far so good, because it's the first 3D software that I used, and there's no other can really competes.

Pros

Old name in 3D software. When an old timer still stands for decades, it only shows one thing: quality. And that's what I found so far in 3DS Max. Period.

Cons

The newer version of this software demanding numerous resources that an older PC can't deliver.

### "3ds Max is Unrivaled as a 3D content creation application. "

April 7, 2021

5.0

3ds Max has allowed me to have a business for the last 25-years. Max has been the foundation of my business and without out it, I'd never have been able to compete in the very, very competitive 3d visualization industry. From animations for small websites to feature film, Max can handle it and many of the top tier movies you know and love were made with it. It's power can't be overestimated.

Pros

3ds Max is powerful. That's an understatement. It can be used by anyone but it's particularly useful to professionals who need all the features. It has been around over 20-years so it's robust and mature. There are 1000s of tutorials for it and the user Forum is one of the best I've ever seen.

Cons

This is not a Con of 3ds Max but is a reality of all powerful software, it takes time to get really good. Max is one of the best for intuitively being able to get around and get started, but to really use it well, you have to pay your dues and take a course or self teach by doing lots of tutorials. That's my experience. I'm self-taught and online tutorials were my guide.

Pros

Cons

### "Great software, but expensive "

April 23, 2021

5.0

This software has great potential, but with the cost being so high to buy and the learning curve so big I would not recommend this to first time users, however I’d you have experience with 3D software this could help take you to the next level and opens the possibilities of design.

Pros

I own a student licence for this software, making it free to use. It is so versatile in what it can do and create.

Cons

Very difficult to learn, and with not many up to date guides it is a huge learning curve. The user face is extremely daunting, and though I have used this product for 2 years I feel I stills don’t have a grasp of its full potential.
