Pros From an Accounting perspective, I primarily use Cube as a consolidation and reporting tool. We set up a live data connection to Quickbooks and it effectively consolidates financial data from multiple instances in seconds - minutes. It saves me hours during month-end close and allows me to easily perform ad hoc analysis on a daily basis. I love that it lets me work within both Google sheets and Excel, while maintaining whatever format I choose. Plus, it was easy to set up and the Customer Service is excellent if you have any issues or questions. Cons I don't have any specific dislikes. I have monthly meetings with the Customer Success & Product leads and they listen to my feedback (which is actually another thing I like most about this software). Review Source KD Kristina D. From their customer service, to flexibility of the software - it is outstanding. The ease of integration as well as support that you receive from their team, makes the transition very smooth and hassle free. Cube’s variety of functions and versatility of how it can be applied through out the business is worth the money. Pros Ease of use, integration, customer service, sensitivity Cons Sometimes software is very sensitive and causes errors in retrieving info, however I completely understand why this sensitivity is there. Our business changes constantly, so our reporting changes with it and Cube has helped us adapt effectively. We use it to report on monthly actuals, integrating financial and sales data from various other software tools. The functionality is very good overall, though there are minor frustrations like refresh or "fetching" speed as well as those mentioned above. For a small FP&A team like ours, the benefits of Cube's flexibility and ease of use outweigh these drawbacks. Pros The ease of implementation and administration is one of the biggest pros of Cube. The post-sales team at Cube was very hands-on and responsive during our implementation and beyond which made an often difficult process very manageable. And the ongoing administration of the tool is relatively light touch. The UX is intuitive which makes training and adoption efficient. And our small Finance team is able to effectively manage everything well. Cons I'd like to see new features rolled out more quickly: things like suppress zeroes and better aggregation calculations come to mind. There are small bugs as well that come up frequently - like needing to reinstall the Excel add-in every few weeks. Review Source MW Michael W. Cube makes it easy to maintain many accounts/dimensions and to map QBO COA to custom FP&A/Management presentations. Fetching and Publishing data is also very easy. We also very much appreciate the connectivity we have with the Cube team if there are ever instances where we require support or advice. Always there to answer my questions so that is much appreciated! Pros Cube has not only saved us hours each month from updating our financials models manually but also decreased the risk of human error. With the seamless QBO integration, we can now present financial data faster to those that need it. As a small team, every minute counts, and Cube has saved a good few hours to focus on other important projects. Huge kudos to the customer support team of Cube, they been extremely responsive and helpful in navigating our various system integrations. The best part is how attentive the Cube team is to any questions or issues we might encounter, they reply in a timely matter and help with any issues! Makes my reporting faster and easier. Pros Cube is very easy to use, the integration with Google Sheets is great! no need to have a separate software installed. I am able to break-out all my forecasting correctly and makes my monthly reporting very easy. Cons It might take a while to understand how it works at first but once understood there are no issues, it becomes very straightforward and easy to use! Their support & customer success teams have been tremendously helpful in remediating issues, discussing architecture options & troubleshooting issues. Pros Cube gave us a great amount of flexibility with how we could manipulate reporting from our ERP, Netsuite. It allowed us to leverage spreadsheets that incorporate easily into our modeling & budgeting, which was an advantage over some more rigid solutions. Cons Our biggest pain points originate from data ingestion between our ERP system & Cube’s staging database. Our team has an unusually high number of monthly transactions so we don’t fit into the average customer's needs for syncing & transaction volume. There’s additional review required post sync between Cube & other systems to ensure accurate reporting. I.e. Our team was hesitant at first migrating off a more robust financial planning tool and back into Excel, but it was seamless and has ended up improving te reliability and timeliness of our reporting. Cons It would be nice if Cube had a more robust headcount planning tool. We are a small company so managing this in Excel is okay, but I could see this becoming a challenge as we grow and scale. Allows for easy template creation to streamline routine financial reporting. Customer support is usually quite responsive and helpful. Cons We could never get an automatic data connection with NetSuite working, so it is always a manual upload process each month. Missing certain features like a headcount planning module or robust forecasting capabilities in order to be an effective end-to-end FP&A platform for larger companies at scale. I love how we can go into Cube and pull any information that we need since most of our data are in Cube. I love how easy it is to integrate our system with Cube as well. I mostly use the system for month end close process and never encounter any problems so far! Cons It took a few trials to be able to fully understand and function it seamlessly, but once you know how it works, you can basically do anything.
