I have referred the software to other architecture friends who are older and aren't interested in learning complicated rendering programs. Pros Enscape is a seemless plugin for my workflow. I do all work in SketchUp, and then use LayOut for generating my construction documents. I was looking for an easy way to take the SketchUp visualization to the next level. Enscape was very easy to learn and use. Would highly recommend the program for great quality rendering. Cons I am constantly generating hardscape exteriors for my architectural projects and would love to have the ability for both waterfalls and realistic fire features. Other rendering platforms do these two things very well. Enscape can render water that is contained, such as a pool, but it just can't do waterfalls unfortunately. " September 16, 2021 5.0 In general, Enscape has made rendering infinitely easier than it was previously. We use to live in a world where we were unable to show all clients 3D images due to scale and duration of projects. After implementing Enscape into our daily work flow there is no reason we cant walk through the entirety of the building with every client. This has shown us huge improvements in client engagement and satisfaction. Working on education projects, Enscape has allowed us to quickly produce images and video to create an overwhelming sense of excitement among school students and staff! Pros Enscape has sped up our working process by hours and hours. Renderings that normally were taking significant periods of time in the cloud are now complete in a matter of seconds. This allows us to spend significantly more time on design simply due to the fact that we are not hindered by technology. Additionally, the quick production of life like images allows the team to take a look at design options and quickly critique and select design direction. The ability to work with this speed has allowed our firm to create higher quality design projects across the board. Cons While Enscape allows renderings to be produced very quickly, I often find myself frustrated by forgetting to pause the live updates. This in turn slows my work flow. Perhaps if the updates were paused as the default with an option to sync after you have been able to make a series of changes! Reason for choosing Enscape Enscape had far more capabilities in terms of creating walk through videos and high quality renderings. Pros We developed our own interactive 3D software built-into LandMentor, however, we finish everything using Enscape because it's ease of use and access (we can deliver an executable 3D) and performance far above LandMentor, although almost identical to use - both have plug & play VR Cons Terrible support for the latest Meta Headsets - always promising to rectify, but never does! Pros i love how nimble this software makes rendering. you can zoom around your model in Rhino, Sketchup, or Revit (your pick) and see all the time what things look like in 3D. on top of that, you can hit 1 button and render the image you are currently looking at for presentations/collaboration. not only is it great for everyday use, but it can also be used to create more polished renderings. there are material ID and object ID channels that you can export to make post production a breeze. another great feature is the ability to save your views, so you can always go back to the same view if you need to (god forbid) re-render the frame. Cons one thing i don't like is that with a recent update, they changed how the view settings are stored and saved in a Revit project. if one person adjusts a saved view setting, they "own" the whole view settings element that was created. this means that other team members cannot modify that view setting until the first team member synconizes. It isn't just a tool for creating images, but part of our design process giving us immediate feedback of design options in real time. Pros The easy installation and direct integration with Revit. We previously used 3Dmax which is complex to use and isn't a live update to our Bim Model. Enscape allowed the deployment to all staff to use and be productive immediatly without any specialist knowledge. Pros Enscape works seamlessly with Sketchup, Revit, Archicad, and other BIM tools. Enscape is very easy to use and implement in the workflow and you can make a rendering without going through post processing in editing software. The best thing about Enscape it's a time saver, in seconds you can export a very high quality, high resolution render, and the video export is very fast and simple. Cons Nice high quality image but not like other rendering engines such as VRay, Corona, Cycles,.. Can't keep the render frame on top which made me to decrease the 3D software window. Previously I relied on another party and the results were never guaranteed or at least of a consistent nature. Now the graphic quality is consistent and of a very high quality (higher than most of the other parties I have used in the past). Pros I like the ease of use. I draw everything in SketchUp and it is as simple as opening Enscape and making a few minor adjustments before I have a usable product. Cons It is inconvenient when Enscape encounters a bug. Sometimes I will lose some work and there is no way to save before both Enscape and SketchUp crashes. The ease of navigation and being a lightweight software are one of the many reasons this tool is ahead of the competition Cons The model library can sometimes come short of expectations. They ended up charging my credit card double the amount. Spent hours on the phone trying to recover this and I still don’t have a solution.
