Pros CDN is great - but the encryption, DRM, and dynamic watermark are superb. For a fair price, you get industry-grade protection and total control of your content. Cons There's no auto-offloading content from Wordpress/Learndash into Gumlet. Means everything has to be uploaded into Gumlet then embedded. No big deal, it's the same thing you'd do with Wistia. July 8, 2023 5.0 Its been great, I love it. Im done looking for video software anymore and I don't have to use 3 different apps to get my videos into my courses and available to my students. Pros Gumlet has solved a number of our issues, wish we had found this software first. I like a lot of things about it, if I had to choose one it would be the upload speed. Hands down its been the fastest and least frustrating to deal with. Cons Over all I'm extremely impressed and happy with all the features, especially it being so affordable. I do have to say that I wish that, the subtitles were a bit more accurate. Or that we could edit them once they are generated. However, unlike most software that Ive used that offers subtitles, Gumlet doesn't have limits on it. In the long run, that's more important in the way that we use our videos. Accessibility is very important to our organization to better serve our students. Reason for choosing Gumlet Unlimited storage, unlimited subtitles, unlimited embeds, and ton of integrations that we havent even tried yet. Our website is faster because the images being delivered are optimized. So now we have a higher Google Lighthouse score, which is why I looked for a tool like Gumlet in the first place. Pros I use Gumlet for the images. I like that I don't store the images on Gumlet since I already have an R2 storage. The image optimization and resizing results are great and very easy to use. Cons I don't like that the videos and images are on a different subscription plan. So far I am very satisfied with the services and features, only the “live” chat can be improved = after 40 minutes I still had no answer to my problem (= error message when uploading the logo). For me, Gumlet makes a solid impression and I can recommend it. Pros Gumlet offers many features for video hosting including numerous settings for the player, branding and security. The streaming speed is very good - at least in the tests I carried out. The UI is fine, I found my way around pretty quickly. Cons Not all the settings are clear to me - but there are tutorials for that, you have to invest a bit of time. Also had an error uploading my logo. I wrote a message in the chat about this = you should get a response within a few moments. After about 30 minutes, I still haven't had an answer. This should definitely be improved. Gumlet helps us to do that. The streaming experience has been faultless and we feel we're in good hands with the management of our video assets. Pros Gumlet is an excellent streaming service for a number of reasons. Firstly, perhaps the most important. It delivers excellent video quality across every platform. With its various CDNs streaming is super fast regardless of whether on a computer or smartphone. Secondly, the interface is intuitively designed. Within a minute of signing up, I was uploading content, categorising it and customising the player. A lot of thought has been given to the UX and the supporting documentation is very comprehensive. Third, the customer service is super responsive. They care and want to help, and that's what counts when you use a product like this. Cons No issues as of yet. The interface is elegant, the workflow generally good. However, the thing that stands out is the responsive support. I never seem to catch them when they're not on top of things and responding. Almost every inquiry is answered within minutes. Cons They are a young company, so there are a few bugs here and there, and some workflow frustrations. (For example, if you change the processing profile at all, like adding another resolution - even a lower one later - you can't just reprocess the file, you have to reupload everything from scratch. There is no delay at all in playing videos - something I often experienced with Vimeo - and I have been able to customise the player to fit with my website design. Pros There is a lot to love about Gumlet. For starters, flawless video streaming. With Gumlet’s uninterrupted, high-quality video streaming to a large number of viewers. Great customization, with the ability to customize player controls, add brand colors and logo, and publish video channels giving a nice personalized touch. Superb security measures to prevent unauthorized downloads and video recordings. This ensure the content is protected from piracy. Analytics for the nerds in us, Gunlet provides comprehensive analytics that is key for understanding audience behavior and identifying effective and impactful content over time. Lastly, the customer support is quick to help resolve issues via chat and email, and there is also an active community. Cons No to many cons, however one of the big ones is the somewhat limited API. I found myself missing the robustness of some competitors that make it easy to build out custom players and control all playback functions like play/pause, mute, etc with custom elements. That nice GUI spills over on my website, since I don't need to host videos on youtube and get the ugly youtube player on my website, instead I have a customizable player that looks slick. Pros I like that it takes care of everything from creating different versions (according to template profiles I create myself) of a video automatically when I upload a video to Gumlet, and then stores the videos and serves them via a CDN so each user gets his/her video served from a location close to them.I am also very happy that there is an API, even if I am yet to implement that. It will hopefully help me integrate my own software with Gumlet. Cons I have only used Gumlet for about 1-2 months, but so far I have not encountered any problems.
