My biggest concern was finding a video host with reliable uptime. Gumlet has surpassed my expectations in this department as I never once experienced any downtime or major issues causing the videos to not load properly. So, Gumlet's uptime and stability is second to none. Mix that with rich features (form embeds, branding customization, CTA button overlays, retargeting pixels) at a fair price, and you get something that beats the competition out of the waters. Pros Great value for money. With my plan, I like the fact there are no streaming limits unlike other video hosting apps. Their UI is easy to navigate and their documentation is extensive with clear step-by-step instructions, so you never feel lost. Live chat was a big big big plus. Most video hosting platforms dont have this feature. Whether I communicated in the morning or night, their support team was always available to take my questions via live chat. Average queue was less than 5 minutes. Cons At seldom times, there were slight loading delays, so further optimizing the speed would be a welcomed improvement. There was only one instance where my video thumbnails weren't loading correctly. It was a very minor bug and after I reuploaded the image, the issue went away. It doesn't hold me back on quality of video. Instead, it uses minutes, which I find to be more useful in the long run. At the end of videos, I don't have to wonder if it's going to be referred to as something out of my network or out of my purview. The call to action is very, very helpful. The drag and drop, the live stream, and just the overall experience has been wonderful. Pros I like the fact that I can control my media, my live streams, my library and folders, with privacy features that are unmatched. Cons I can't think of a thing. You get so much freedom with what you want to do with your video. You can put your logo, change colors, and more. You can easily organize your videos and folders, just like other similar sites. I like that you can also monetize your videos right away, and add tracking links to monitor your stats. I can also restrict video access to specific countries if needed. It's a great alternative to Vimeo. Pros Gumlet is so easy to use. The things I like the most about Gumlet is the UI and UX, and player branding. Their UI and UX are top-notch, which makes onboarding a breeze. There's no need to consult their help docs, as everything is easy to understand, especially for tech-savvy users. Everything was smooth, from registration, setting up two-factor authentication, uploading a test video, automatic transcoding, getting the share-URL's, and more. I am glad to have finally found an alternative to Vimeo, since I have been looking for one for a long time. I hope the service will be around for a long time and will continue to be improved with the enthusiasm they are currently displaying. You can access their roadmap before buying and see which features they are working on and those they are already planning for or considering to implement. Lastly, the customer support was prompt and helpful and offered via live-chat, which is my preferred channel. Pros I appreciate having found an alternative to Vimeo. The lifetime deal seems to be of great value for my use-case. Gumlet is a powerful video transcoding, hosting, and streaming service and it even offers me a feature I never had with my old, paid Vimeo plan: the ability to geo-block countries from accessing my content. The other privacy features are great too, e.g. being able to password-protect my videos. Gumlet is also able to auto-subtitle and gives extensive analytics reports. They offer direct download links and solid player customization: I can choose a highlight color, hide the Gumlet logo, upload my own logo, etc. Cons While the UI is at times quite nice or even excellent, I do think it could be improved further. However, they are actively working on this. The current video library and playlist system are good and give me all the control I need, but, ideally, I would love to see a folder system integrated as well.
