It takes a bit of time to get used to the concepts like "Integrations" and "Flow," but once you get used to them, it becomes an incredibly useful tool. Pros As a low-code platform, Appmixer has a wide range of product integrations available and is easy to use. It also contains some excellent AI components to easily achieve an AI agentic workflow. Cons Self-hosting can be difficult as there are many elements to configure. Also, the flow designer can be a bit buggy and hard for beginners. That said, support is easy to reach and will be happy to help. It comes with a set of connectors and you can very easily add new ones – their CLI makes custom development and deployment very easy. On top of this, thanks to their flexible runtime and open runtime code, we are shaping Appmixer to become our 3rd party authentication center. We are not only letting customers enable complete flows, but we are also using Appmixer to sign up/log in users into our own systems by reusing existing 3rd party auth mechanisms in the Appmixer engine. This is a huge plus. We are now rolling out 1 integration per week to our customers to enable a connected translation and localization experience for them. Pros Appmixer platform is very flexible and comes with a good set of components. You can access and modify these components' source code, which is a great help. The flexibility of the Appmixer platform enables flow programming to a very high degree, making the implementor's life much easier. The team behind Appmixer is very supportive; they allocate time to brainstorm compelling cases and sincerely listen to your feedback. The pricing is the only one that makes sense in the iPaaS market. We reviewed in detail probably all of the competitors in the market, both technically and business-wise; Appmixer made the most sense with its connectors, runtime engine, cost structure, flexibility, sales and operational support. Cons Appmixer's runtime enabled various advanced use cases for us, we only had difficulty in shaping Appmixer platform into an authorization management center (which is really not advertised as such). But thanks to the stellar support from the team, we were now being given the tools and changes necessary in Appmixer platform to let us centralize our 3rd party authorizations in Appmixer, alongside integration flows. July 8, 2021 4.0 Appmixer is forming the foundation of an entirely new Integration and Automation strategy for our product and business. It's the perfect balance of "off the shelf functionality" and nuanced direct control. Pros The ability to host the solution ourselves and extend it with our own code. This made processes around security and privacy significantly simpler as it is running on our own infrastructure. Being able to extend it with our own code also meant that we were able to build an entirely novel product that appears entirely native to our platform. Cons The product is evolving very quickly, which is excellent in most respects but can have some trade-offs. Documentation can be missing in some places, and there have been a few quirks leftover from earlier iterations of the product. Still, the Appmixer team is incredibly responsive to requests for information and has implemented a significant number of enhancements based on suggestions we had made. Pros Open-ended SDK that allows us to configure and build out our solutions on top of the engine/platform, rather than be constrained by a prebuilt product. Cons Some gaps around our use-cases (which is why the SDK piece is critical). The software is more geared towards quick automation pipelines, moreso than towards long-running workflows with automation steps. We had to customize the way that Wait states work to solve for our use case. Wish this had been easier out of box.
