When the client switched from Slack to Discourse, it had a massive negative effect on productivity, communication, community and morale.

Pros

It functioned, which is better than some products I've used.

Cons

Poor UI, non-intuitive navigation, poor notification... pretty much everything.

Not my decision - this was the client's decision.

Pros

Discourse is open source and can be used extensively within a company.

Cons

The interface of the older versions was not as neat as it is today. Our self-hosted version was an old version. Other than that, it's great.
