I’ve since moved on to bigger and better things (CreativeCloud). Pros I do love the simplicity of iMovie. I believe they built it so ANYone could use it. And that seems to be the case. It’s quick, takes almost no time to learn, and there is a lot to be said for that. Cons It’s severely lacking in functionality because it is so simple. From editing tools to even lack of exporting options, its simplicity takes a toll on what is possible. I believe that was their purpose- to be simple. So it’s not bad- just a reality. Being able to copy and paste elements is clutch. Cons There are some limitations in functionality and eventually I needed to download another program to accomplish a few tasks, particularly with fixing video and audio elements. Pros iMovie comes with macOS so it is free. It is easy to use. It comes with ready-to-use transition effects you just drag and drop into your videos. Cons You cannot choose which format to export. Pros I used iMovie for many many years almost daily. Learning how to use basic operations was easy and the end product was more than good enough for home and personal use. I eventually moved up to using More professional products to gain additional professional tools to improve my videos, but using iMovie taught me all I needed to do so much. Cons It was limited - I eventually move up to a more professional editing software to be able to purchase additional editing tools for special effects I wanted, but in reality I did not have to move up if I didn’t want to. Reason for choosing iMovie At the time, it was free with all Apple computers and it was easy to use. I think its super easy to cut and splice clips together and prefer to use iMovie over more advanced programs for these types of simple projects. But for anything more elaborate, I would use a different program because there's not enough customizable features to make a high quality video. Pros I like how easy it is to edit videos. Super intuitive to cut clips and rearrange and add audio. The bare minimum features are great for a beginner who wants to do simple video editing/creation. Cons There should be some more advanced features for people who know what they're doing. You only have so many options to customize your editing and the templates are super outdated and amateur looking. It seems like the templates haven't changed in 10 years. Cons Comparé à d'autres logiciels professionnels, i movie n'ai pas considéré comme un logiciel d'entrée de gamme et d'utilisation simple, il n'est donc destiné qu'a un usage personnel.
