It’s a simple and useful tool for organising ideas and collaborating with others. I found it helpful for sharing information and keeping everything in one place. It’s especially good for quick tasks and group work. Pros Padlet is very easy to use and doesn’t take long to understand. I like how you can quickly post notes, images, or links in one place. It’s great for sharing ideas with others and keeping everything organised. Cons The free version is a bit limited, especially with how many boards you can create. We are about to renew for a second year. There is no other site like this one for our needs. We previously used Flipgrid but that site no longer exists. At first I was devastated, but having found Padlet, I am happy to say Padlet is even better than Flipgrid was. Pros I have been using Padlet for a year now for my asynchronous online college course so students can see each other and I can see them. My class is about dance, so I give them dance video assignments that they post to Padlet. Padlet is very user-friendly and very cute! Even though my students are not little kids, I still enjoy the look of the site and feel there are so many uses that I haven't even explored yet. Cons I haven't yet found anything that I do not like about Padlet. One of my main pet peeves is s site that is not user-friendly but Padlet is very user-friendly. You can do so many different things on it and it allows you to be creative and have fun with what you are doing or working on, it is truly great! Pros I like that you can make any boards you want and people can say anything on them. Padlet has great customer support if you were to have any issues and they handle everything quickly. You get a great value for your money with Padlet and they have awesome security! Video calls and conferencing are spectacular and it is super easy to manage your employees! Such a great tool to use! Cons The only thing that I could say that I dislike about Padlet is that the video calls and video conferences are not always the best quality so sometimes it can be difficult to see one another, but that does not impact the quality of the sound, so it is still great! Alternatives considered [Nearpod](https://www.capterra.com/p/122875/Nearpod/) Reason for choosing Padlet I chose Padlet over Nearpod because even though you can make board sections for people to comment on and collaborate on, you are able to do video calls and conferences on Padlet, which is not available on Nearpod. Cons I think some of the cheezy nicknames it gives to the students before publishing are unnecessary. The students are creative enough to choose their own. April 22, 2024 5.0 Pros Padlet is a great way to organize and keep track of information in categories. I am a children's librarian, and I use it to keep track of the books I've read aloud to students by grade level, but I also use the map feature to show where on Earth the books I read are set. Rather than simply writing the title, I can save the and organize images of the books plus their titles. This really helps me as visual person. I've also used it to create text sets of information for students to access . For example, I have an Oil Spills text set that include links to books we have in our library, youtube videos, and infographics. When students study this topic in science, they can reference the text set Padlet to find all the information they need in one place. It's just a really great and versatile app that can be used in tons of ways. Cons My school district pays for Padlet, but I'm not sure I'd use it if it weren't free through the district. I love that students always have access to the dicussion board. Now students will have access to all the read alouds I use in case they need them! It is very user friendly for both teachers and students. Recentlty it has helped me save the content from Flip.com that I have collected over the past 8 years! I am very appreciative of that! Pros I love how this becomes a virtual discussion board that students always have access to. Recently I have been migrating my videos over from flip.com. I've always used Padlet but never before for videos. Now I realize I can do everything here. Cons I wish it was free! I'd use it so much more if it was. I migrated lots of content over. Pros What I like most about Padlet is it replaces the old fashioned "parking lot" where participants at professional learning would place questions on post-it notes and place them on a poster to be answered. This allows for real-time questions to be answered and for participant input. I also like that I no longer have to have handouts for professional learning. Also, speaking of the real-time comment and reply feature, this helped my students and I because it made it easier for us to provide feedback and communication, improving their comprehension and confidence in the language. In summary, my teaching and learning experience using this tool was the best, because it provided me with an interactive and motivating virtual environment for the linguistic progress of the students. Pros Of the many positive points that Padlet has, what I liked the most was that it allowed students to create personalized virtual boards quickly and easily and also that it has various display options, be it tiled, timeline or map and All these help flexibility in content organization. And finally, another function that I found very useful is that it has the real-time collaboration function between students and between teacher and students, facilitating teamwork and active participation of users. Cons Of negative points I was able to realize that the free version has limitations in terms of the number of boards that can be created and the amount of content that can be stored, because in my case my organization provided me with the paid version and I had no limitations in the functionalities of this, however, users who do not have the premium version will be limited to many interesting features.
