June 9, 2023 5.0 This tool is really helpful for a teacher with ADHD who has difficulties at times keeping things organized. I love the fact I can have students post all their answers in one location and it is quick and easy for me to check their responses. In addition, being that my students are younger, allowing students to give verbal/oral responses is powerful. Padlet also allows my students to be creative in how they want to communicate their thinking. It is also transcends all curriculum, in that it can be used in all subject areas...from gym, such as setting goals...to social studies, such as giving an opinion on the charter of rights and freedoms...or math, such as demonstrating their thinking for a question then taking a picture of their work. All of this in one place...amazing! Pros The ability for students to create responses in a multitude of ways (written, pic, video, voice memo, etc.) is empowering. In addition, being able to monitor their responses and provide immediate feedback is exceptional. The interface is slick and easy for all students to use. The kids in my class love it! Cons Wish there were a few more free Padlets? :) I'll have to get back to you on this one. IA Isaac A. replacement teacher Education Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Boosting the collaboration and creativity of my students in an interactive way thanks to Padlet" August 3, 2023 5.0 As I mentioned in a previous review, I was a tutor in an English academy, and I must admit that Padlet was an invaluable tool to encourage active participation and interactive learning in the classroom as this platform helped me create thematic boards with resources, such as vocabulary, images and practical exercises, thanks to this my students mentioned that they liked this feature because they could easily access the material at any time. Also, speaking of the real-time comment and reply feature, this helped my students and I because it made it easier for us to provide feedback and communication, improving their comprehension and confidence in the language. In summary, my teaching and learning experience using this tool was the best, because it provided me with an interactive and motivating virtual environment for the linguistic progress of the students. Pros Of the many positive points that Padlet has, what I liked the most was that it allowed students to create personalized virtual boards quickly and easily and also that it has various display options, be it tiled, timeline or map and All these help flexibility in content organization. And finally, another function that I found very useful is that it has the real-time collaboration function between students and between teacher and students, facilitating teamwork and active participation of users. Cons Of negative points I was able to realize that the free version has limitations in terms of the number of boards that can be created and the amount of content that can be stored, because in my case my organization provided me with the paid version and I had no limitations in the functionalities of this, however, users who do not have the premium version will be limited to many interesting features. I love the different formats like the shelf and timeline. The new organisational aspects help when communicating large amounts of shared content. Cons Would like to see more integration with Google Workspace; displaying cover images for content like Docs, Sheets, and Jamboard would make it more attractive. Would also love to see the format options grow beyond the few they have. Would also love to see folder types posts where materials can be grouped by topic so as not to clutter space and overwhelm users.It would be ideal to include ready-to-use design templates that initiate organisation for projects like a storyboard and reflective thinking like rose, thorn and bud. In a classroom setting, the tool works very well on student smartphones, and projecting the board as a whole is a worthwhile addition. Pros I like the simplicity of Padlet. Teachers and lecturers can easily and quickly prepare a Padlet board for the online collation of multi-media materials. Using the tool as teachers and as students is intuitive. The design of the Padlet board is inviting and encourages students to engage with materials posted by others and to add their own ideas in writing, image and video. Sharing the link to Padlet boards in a lesson or as homework is quick and easy and there are various options including link copy and QR codes. Cons More thought could be directed towards ways in which Padlet can encourage teachers to use the tool in alternative assessments. Cons I wish there was an option to do slides of some kind that can then be presented in full screen mode. - slides that could be shared and created with multiple people. Spanish teacher Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Padlet for cross-course collaboration" May 25, 2023 5.0 Most recently, students used Padlet to have a tournament of Hispanic foods. They researched traditional foods from different countries and posted photos and descriptions of each.Each day, we had elimination challenges between two countries until, like in team sports tournaments, the last countries and their foods had play-offs and a winner was selected. This year it was Guatemala. The students got to try an authentic breakfast of Guatemalan foods as a celebration of their work. Padlet made this tournament possible. Pros I love offering the same Padlet page to participants from different course sections who have never met in person. It inspires students to give their authentic best quality posts that everyone wants to read and respond to while staying on topic, knowing they are accountable for their submissions. Cons There are only a few basic formats available to start, which is fine for what we need, but perhaps new setup formats will become available soon. Teacher Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A versatile tool for learning activities and organisation of ideas" June 1, 2023 5.0 With its range of formats, Padlet enables teachers to tap on them to design & facilitate a variable of activities - It supports teaching and learning in classroom very well. Pros 1\. It is easy to organise responses from respondents using a variety of the formats available.2. I can organise the padlets by bookmarking them for ease of retrieval or reference. 3. It is pretty easy to share padlets through a variety of formats (including QR code, embed in blogs)4. Like the recently enhanced formats (e.g. introduction of sections in grid) Cons 1\. In the BOOKMARK - it is somehow different to read the text when the description is slightly longer. Would be helpful if we can resize the width of the left panel. 2. Upload of images into a single post. Wish there is an option that allows user to upload more than one media in a single post.3. Comments (a) would be great if can have paragraphs instead of only 1 paragraph.4. Comments (b) would be helpful if it can be threaded - to allow greater interaction 5. The very first time I assigned this to my students, they just took off with it. I had hardly any questions on how to navigate through the software. Padlet makes creating projects easy and engaging for my students. Pros I really like Padlet. There are so many things you can use Padlet for in your classroom. I have had the students describe a vocabulary word in our unit. This software allows my students to show off their creativity. I love that they can work individually or with a partner. This has templates to begin the project so it lets my students focus most on what they choose to add to their creation. My students can easily share their project with me which makes grading simple.
