I thought the district hafd bought this app. for the teachers and students. Pros I liked to use Padlet for vocabulary lessons. Students apply the vocabulary words to write sentences. It's an efficient way to check their understanding and application of sentence structure. Students love to post/ publish their sentences with the related word. Als used for brain storming ideas on different writing genres. Cons It was easy to use, fun, and time efficient. (User friendly) Reason for choosing Padlet Time efficiency and productive teaching tool. Switched from [Google Docs](https://www.capterra.com/p/160756/Google-Docs/) It was time consuming to set up as opposed to Padlet, and the students took a lot of time creating each slide with the vocabulary word and image. Teacher Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Use of Padlet in Classroom Teaching" June 2, 2023 5.0 The problem is as stated above, that is, I would like to be able to know which student posted which of the comments so that a few students do not ruin my lessons with inappropriate comments and ridiculous pictures even vulgar in nature. Pros It is time efficient and student friendly when used in my low ability classes in English Language. I could elicit input for example in writing an introductory paragraph from an entire class within a 30 minute period as the first post serves as an example for the rest to post. Subsequently, even the weakest student gets the idea and posts his/her paragraph. After this comes my feedback. I am able to correct their mistakes on the whiteboard on which their posts are projected and they are able to correct their mistakes using their iPads, on the spot. I am able to focus on the best posts and get the other students to emulate the best students. Cons When students post, I am unable to know who posted what unless the person puts his/her name on the post. I have a few mischievious students who post inappropriate comments and hide behind the curtain of anonymity, hurting the others ' feelings and learning process. Could staff at Padlet improve on this such that all posts could be traced to the persons posting them. This would make Padlet an excellent teaching tool. Pros I use this platform to receive homework from my students or to reiterate any announcements or rules in the classroom. This is the best and easiest way for the students to finish their homework, and for me to grade their work and share the corrections with everyone. The students can view all the graded homework and my comments, seeing what works and what doesn't. The students enjoy uploading images and videos to illustrate their point. Cons It would work better if everything was invisible until approved and graded. Some students think they can plagiarize other students' work. They never get away with it, but temptation is still too strong. Some students have been able to gain access to administrator settings, which has been unfortunate. I have used it in the classroom many times as a way for students to share their thoughts about a subject, while also being able to read the thoughts of their classmates. This technology works great as an Exit Ticket. You can have students put their name and their comment to make sure everyone collaborates. Also, I love how each Padlet generates a QR code. Students can enter the Padlet quickly and easily by using their phone to scan the QR code. They don't have to type a long URL to access the form. This is a great way to get students engaged. I have shared it with my colleagues and they have had great success implementing it in their classrooms as well. Cons Some of the functions are little hard for students to figure out, such as how to add a picture to their comment. Users are able to quickly share their ideas and is therefore a perfect starting point for conversations, seminars, or surveys. Pros Padlet is a simple way for groups of people to share ideas, brainstorm, and start conversations. In the classroom setting I have used it many times for students to anonymously project ideas on the screen. This easy to access software can help students to get out of their shells and contribute to a conversation/seminar in ways that they otherwise wouldn't have. Cons Padlet's features are functional and easy to use, however they are at times simplistic and lack the more refined features that would be helpful. It feels like an online version of having individuals place stickynotes on a corkboard. It can also be difficult to vet inappropriate submissions if you are not vigilant. They can communicate and share Pros Padlet is a user-friendly platform that allows for easy collaboration. There is a free version that can be used as long as you don't need many different Padlet pages. Three Padlet pages are included in the free version. You can delete pages once you don't need them to free up Padlet space to remain in the free version. Cons The template is set; however, you can add more columns and boxes under the columns. It is easy to see - in real time - which students are doing the work / preparing their presentations on time - and also very easy for me as an educator to correct grammar / spelling mistakes . Pros Very easy to use + FUN for students to use , so they research/prepare their presentations at home and no class time is wasted on explaining what to do . Cons Sometimes the slides get mixed up , also a little confusing to have writing both above and below slides - A good option might be to have a menu where you could restrict writing to only section ABOVE the visuals or the section BELOW the visuals - or both ( if you choose this option ) . The free feature also makes it possible for you to use a lot of their features - giving users a proper experience of the software before investing in it. You can write, upload, attach, whatever you want. If you're in a creative field - padlet makes your life very easy with sharing access. A lot of processes like mood boarding, user mapping, collateral showcase becomes very easy to showcase. Pros I like the fact that there are multiple ways through which I can layout my ideas and my board. It has different themes, and ability to connect posts and segregate them to make sense. Cons File mb size. Being a visual designer, some of my images may be of a higher MB. Teacher Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Wonderous Padlet in Education" May 24, 2024 5.0 Pros Padlet can be used in classrooms for so many tasks: teachers can use padlet as a discussion board for students where they can respond to brief prompts, comment on the reactions and responses of peers and add likes and gifts and other audio/visual features. Teachers can allow students to create their own padlets for research, journals, digital portfolios. Padlet is a combination of beauty, creativity and functionality. Cons I would perhaps like to see a few more template options, but really there isnt anything that I like least about Padlet.
