### "system with useful functionalities"

May 16, 2023

5.0

a better standardization of maintenance can be carried out, saving costs and extending the useful life of the files

Pros

\- I really liked the support team as they kindly answer all the questions one by one in such a well-explained way that they leave no doubt- Its work order function makes it easy to keep track of the work that is or is not being done- in general its use is easy to perform- I can coordinate my maintenance schedule in a more strategic way

Cons

No, I don't have anything to write that I don't like about this platform called ShireSystem

### "A solid CMMS system and essential tool for work management & compliance"

January 8, 2026

4.0

We have an Engineering Team of around 75 people across 3 sites and use the desktop and mobile pro version with around 60 mobile licences. Overall we have a positive experience with Shire System and it gives us what we need from a work management and compliance point of view to ISO45001, ISO9001 and FSSC 22000. We are currently uploading our inventory to Shire and will be expanding to use the purchasing module in 2026.

Pros

The User interface is friendly and easy to navigate. The features are mostly everything that we need for a day to day work management. The work orders can have as little or as much information submitted as we require and the document management section more than adequately covers our audit requirements. Therea re multiple ways to complete jobs using the desktop version and the mobile app. Spare parts can be added to a work order and booked out individually once you have set your inventory up on the system. Options are available to use the dashboard view or a BI connector to get the data you require. Plenty of additional modules available for what requirements you need, permit to work, wallboard, purchasing, etc. The mobile app works quite well for work management across all our teams.

Cons

You can't click into the asset data from a work order and this can be frustrating as you end up having multiple tabs open. There are lots of report templates available but none give me quite what I need and we end up exporting data to excel and creating our own shift reports. This is mainly as you can create teams but there is no filter for teams on the reports templates.

Reason for choosing ShireSystem

I wasn't in the business when the decision was made but I have been told it was cost the main factor along with functionality.

### "Contracts manager"

January 6, 2026

3.0

When its working well its great but the speed issues at times cause problems during business critical moments

Pros

Effective way to track jobs with good tools to check if jobs are running over due or on time, good for tracking multiple contracts

Cons

Can be very slow and crashes often. Particularly with raising invoices. A feature to auto calculate costs on jobs would be brilliant.

### "Good CMMS - strong WO/PPM controll, UI needs tightening up"

January 13, 2026

4.0

Overall it’s been a good system for bringing order to maintenance planning. We run a heavy manufacturing site and the big win is having one place for work orders, planned maintenance, spares, and history. Once you start using it properly, you stop losing jobs, you stop repeating the same failures without learning, and you can actually plan shutdown work with some confidence. It does take effort up front – asset register, job plans, frequencies, spares, user training, and basic discipline (correct assets, failure coding, proper close-out). If the site isn’t willing to do that, any CMMS will struggle. For day to day planning it works well: you can build a weekly plan, manage overdue work, keep the system clean, and get decent KPI visibility without turning it into admin for the sake of admin.

Pros

\*It’s a proper CMMS that can handle a real factory, not just a spreadsheet with fancy buttons. \*PPM / WO control is strong once you’ve got your asset register and job plans set right. \*Good structure for assets, locations, job plans, parts, history etc. Helps drive standards and stops the “we’ll remember it in our heads” nonsense. \*Backlog visibility is decent. You can actually see what’s overdue, what’s waiting parts, what’s waiting labour, what’s shutdown, etc. \*Reporting is useful for compliance and for catching bad habits (people closing jobs wrong, using wrong assets, no failure codes etc).

Cons

\*The newer “fresh” look is a bit too uniform- every tab/window looks the same, so it’s dead easy to hit the wrong “+” and do the wrong thing, for example: you think you’re adding parts to a work order, but you’ve actually started creating a brand new work order. Hence me using the old icons/look, actually. \*If your master data is messy (assets, BoMs, stock, locations) it will show up straight away. It’s not a “magic fix” – you still need to do the hard yards. \*Adoption is the real battle. If production report breakdowns on radios and nobody logs it, the system looks bad -but that’s people/process, not the software. \*Performance can feel a bit slow at times. Could be our servers, but it’s noticeably slower than what we’ve seen in demos / meetings.

### "How NTS progressed using ShireSystem for Asset Management."

December 1, 2025

5.0

I think the best way I can explain using Shire is like working with a family business. I have worked in systems for over 30 years and they can be demanding, expensive and difficult to work with, but nothing seems to be to difficult for Elecosoft to resolve.

Pros

I could not find another CMMS that matched Shires spec at the price point when NTS was looking to implement an asset management database. I can implement new ways of carrying out work with the way we can customise work orders without constantly going back to the system supply. It’s impossible to list all the advantages we as a business get from using the Shire system within are business units.

Cons

I am being honest in saying there is nothing I dislike about the system and if there was I just call up the support team and see what changes we can make like making another field mandatory and they change it for me at no cost.

### "Modular in set-up with Fantastic customer support..."

January 7, 2026

5.0

Very impressed having used Piranha in my previous roles as an Engineering Manager i recommended the system to my latest employer and created e new system set-up from scratch...

Pros

The Piranha system I have set-up was modular in setting up from scratch & has provided fantastic customer support...

Cons

Time consuming to set-up, but very worth it in the long term. The machine data and tasks have to be created before any scheduling can take place...

### "Easy to use CMMS system for business. "

January 7, 2026

5.0

We've used ShireSystems since 2018, we're still using it which says it all. I can easily create Work Orders, Purchase Orders and view our stock levels quickly. The auto re-order function is a handy reminder to enable me to hold the correct inventory.

Pros

ShireSystems is so user friendly, it's easy to navigate and set up for my companys use. It's a multi functional CMMS which allows me to control our business movements easily.

Cons

Nothing at all, i've looked into similar services from other suppliers, ShireSystems wins hands down.

ease of use and remains one of the easiest systems to use, easy to train others on the basics. a system always preferred from the dos version.

Pros

the drop down tab for work orders that was on the system in frontline, it took too long to come back. the reporting is also good and varied.

Cons

not having the budget management that used to be on frontline, giving monthly spends and total costs.

January 6, 2026

4.0

It’s a good system, it has a lot of useful functions towards running a store. It has areas of improvements which would assist the user

Pros

How easy the system is to use and most important it’s easy to teach new users. Its a non complicated, efficient platform

Cons

The search function is far too sensitive as if you are searching for material but it’s not spelt the same as when the material was created then it likely won’t come up.

### "Invaluable Tool for preventative maintenance"

January 7, 2026

4.0

I have used the system as Engineering team for 5 years; it has become an invaluable Tool for preventative maintenance.

Pros

The system saves a huge amount of time organising PPM across the site, reviewing all assets has been beneficial during audits, overall ease of use and clear user interface.

Cons

The shire system covers a vast range of functions, we only use a small percentage of its capability, finding time to learn and utilise it to its full capacity never seems to happen.

### "Pirana CMMS"

June 16, 2020

4.0

We are an SME and the use of Pirana has allowed us to integrate maintenancea across all of our facilities and bring the standardisation of our maintenance to a new level. The ability to interrogate costs of maintenance is giving us further insight into our operational expeniture. Of equal value are Shire's support team, they have proven their value time and again in assisting us with improving our system and the use of the CMMS.

Pros

Our company opted for a hosted system and the accesibility and availability is perfect, the also software integrates well with mobile device use for field users. The software is easy to configure and there are many layers of user control that can be set to give the end users the right amount of interaction with the system.

Cons

The one thing that is lacking that I would find useful is an audit trail on changes in the system as this would help interrogate where user or data errors have occured in the system.

Reason for choosing ShireSystem

We migrated from Frontline to Pirana, the support from Shire and the ease of this tranfer made it an easy choice.

4.0

I have been a user for many many years we had licence number \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and overall very happy with the product

Pros

Easy to use and navigate the system for non experienced users

Cons

1\. Bugs in the system can be quite frustrating when they appear, as an example were we need to send the SQL to you for something that has all traces of its history being deleted but you still cant delete. On the positive side of that you always do this quickly when needed. 2. Not being able to clone assets on mobile pro. 3. Not being able to fit some parts of the software to the screen extents.

Pros

The software is user friendly, ease of use and navigating between functions or screens. Fairly easy to pick up and use.

Cons

The ability to have a bar code scanner that could be used to sign on and sign off work order would be beneficial as well as having the bar code on all work orders.

Reason for choosing ShireSystem

Easy of use , better flow on the software, simpler to use build and expand.

### "Fine"

April 19, 2021

4.0

It does some things well and other things not so well but it gets the job the done and has helped my role.

Pros

The report features are good and the breadth of the software is good.

Cons

There is no description within that tells you how the data is recorded or applied for reports, making it difficult to put a best practice document together, the signing off, description and instruction writing is not the best as the home page only gives you the briefest description and the "Task Instructions" doesn't give much scope. I know the names can be changed internally but having them on a different tab isn't the best design either.

### "Engeneering Coordinator"

December 18, 2025

5.0

One of ShireSystem’s main strengths is its intuitive interface, which allows users to navigate features with minimal training. The system is reliable and performs well in handling daily operational tasks, helping teams save time and reduce manual work. Customization options are also a plus, as they allow organizations to tailor the system to their specific needs.

Pros

ShireSystem is a practical and user-friendly platform designed to help organizations manage their operations more efficiently. The system offers a range of tools that support workflow management, data organization, and process tracking, making it suitable for both small and medium-sized teams.

Cons

Some advanced features may feel limited, and occasional performance slowdowns can occur when handling large data sets. Improved documentation and customer support resources would also enhance the overall user experience.

### "The Bread Factory - Shire Review"

January 7, 2026

4.0

Overall I am very happy with ShireSystem, it allows use to track ongoing breakdowns and requests, while managing PPM tasks in a pretty easy way. The Request function is great, although could be tweeked - e.g. make it mandatory to add a photo.

Pros

How everything slots together in sync - for example building assets, assigning that to a location, assigning a task and then building the scheduler

Cons

The mass change function I would like to see expanded. The group change wizard isngreat but i think it should do more - with regykations such as BRC changing all the time, there are loads of standard texts we use in every task that we then need to update

### "Shire System at Lakeside "

January 6, 2026

5.0

It has been really great working on this system from nearly 10 years, its something we really rely on and agajn makes our jobs easier for us and the engineers. Couldnt have thought of a better system to use here at Lakeside North Harbour

Pros

ShireSystem is very straightforward and intuitive to use, which has made a noticeable difference to our day-to-day work. The system is well laid out, making it easy to navigate and quickly locate the information we need without unnecessary complexity. This ease of use helps streamline processes, saves time, and reduces the risk of errors. Overall, it has significantly improved efficiency, made tasks easier to manage, and has helped make our daily workload more organised and less time-consuming.

Cons

At times, the system can be quite slow, which can be frustrating during busy periods or when tasks need to be completed quickly. Delays in loading pages or processing information can interrupt workflow and reduce efficiency, especially when multiple users are accessing the system at the same time. While the system is generally easy to use, these performance issues can impact productivity and slow down day-to-day operations. Improving system speed and responsiveness would greatly enhance the overall user experience.

### "ShireSystem is highly recommended. "

January 14, 2026

5.0

Software can be a bit quirky but we have learnt how to manage this. Any issues are remedied promptly without being treated like an idiot.

Pros

The continual improvement of the software. We have been with ShireSystem for many years when it was very rigid and could be difficult to do what you wanted but has come on a long way.

Cons

Synchronizing of Mobile Pro often overwrites sign off notes on database. I will often write an essay on "work done" from a desktop to get down in writing all of the background to a work order. An engineer will then sync a tablet and my notes disappear. We have learnt to sync before, during and after making notes on mobile pro but we still have issues.

I think if i complete the training course again ill be able to use the system to its potential, I use it daily for basic tasks liek creating work orders, tracking reports etc.

Pros

its easy to edit work orders, reassign and change people's schedule to suit out programme, editing tasks and instructions is also easy to do.

Cons

Feel like the multi subject work groups can become confusing when trying to set them up, potentially need to complete a training refresher course. I also find when scheduling new work orders there can be a delay to them appearing on the scheduler.

### "Solid Platform for Maintenance, Purchasing and Inventory Control"

January 7, 2026

5.0

Overall, ShireSystem has been a solid and dependable system for our operations. It supports our CMMS, PO, and stores requirements well, and while there are areas that could be improved, particularly around usability and reporting - it remains an effective tool for managing day-to-day workflows.

Pros

ShireSystem stands out for its ability to streamline day-to-day operations. The CMMS, PO processing, and stores modules work together smoothly, reducing duplication and improving traceability. It’s made job tracking, ordering, and stock control far more efficient.

Cons

Some areas of the system feel a little dated, and certain tasks take more clicks than necessary. Reporting and data extraction could also be more user-friendly, particularly when trying to customise reports.

Pros

I like the purchasing side of ShireSystem. Its great for tracking traceability to follow a request to quote to order status. and linking work orders to the PO. Very helpful. Customer support has been amazing, always answers within 30mins.

### "ShireSystem - an intuitive user interface designed to simplify my working life "

January 7, 2026

5.0

Overall my experience of using the Shire System is positive. Without the, user-friendly, system my job would be a great deal more complicated.

Pros

The Shire System has an intuitive user interface which is easy to use, making day to day purchasing, asset management and planned maintenance tasks straightforward. When needed, the customer service is available to quickly provide solutions.

Cons

The thing that I like least about the Shire System is that there is limited scope for customization. Also when adding new purchase orders, or lines to a purchase order, duplication can occur when not needed.
