Spanish Teacher Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Incredible " October 12, 2020 5.0 We are able to really assess understanding of Spanish with being able to use audio to ask questions and pictures for the answer. Pros Quizizz is such a great program. My colleagues and I use for our Spanish lessons in grades K-4. It was very helpful during remote teaching because it kept my students engaged. Pros I love this software. It keeps students engaged and active during class. I like how you can create different types of questions. (multiple choice, text input, voice, etc.) I especially like the feature where students can draw. I think that is very unique to quizizz. Cons I wish more features were available for the basic package. Also, there is no free trial to try out the Super subscription. We use this DAILY with students, however no data privacy agreement" October 15, 2020 5.0 LOVE quizizz, my students LOVE it as well. However, TODAY during 6th period, our administrators blocked the app and site from teachers and students in the middle of a lesson because a data privacy agreement was not signed by admin at Quizizz to comply with NYS law. Teachers are upset and students are bummed out because this was a wonderful tool to use for test prep under the hybrid learning model. It provides many different features which meet the needs of its users. Pros Students find success and develop strong study skill habits through the use of this tool which in turns builds their confidence and self-esteem. We believe in the concept of Event + Response = Outcome. When kids put in the time with this tool, they see for themselves how it pays off. This is a tool any area of education could incorporate into their curriculum to help kids learn content. Cons If you plan to use pictures with this tool, no that the pictures can be small and may not be ideal for students. However, this is a minor issue given the advantages this tool provides for kids. Cons The themes can be varied to be more engaging to the students, lagging at times with no music when there are too many participants joining the quiz simultaneously. Pros I enjoy the ease of creations and implementation of it. It is super easy to create your own Quizizz or to find one someone else created and to modify it. I also like that I can make a "game" homework, or we can do it live in class to review the material. I can stop after each question since I see the results immediately to go over the question in more depth. It is also free which is wonderful for teachers. My students love the competition and thrive to get on the winners podium. Cons There really isn't much that I dislike. It’s colorful, engaging, and my students always look forward to playing it. I use it to gauge how my students are doing in their understanding. Cons The cost of the upgrade is a bit of an expense for teachers. Especially since we are partially virtual. Unit reviews in here are especially useful. Pros My students love this, they have told me they prefer the set up to other online quizzing sites. They compete to see who can get first in the homework quizzes. They enjoy the timed teacher led activities. A big thing is the memes which are the smallest of rewards, but enough for them :) I love the flashcards for reviewing. The toughest questions feature is also really handy for a quick review when I can't re-explain as many problems. Cons I think the only con is I once tried to turn the new lesson feature into a quiz and it didn't transfer properly? But that is new and will improve with time. Review Source JL Jana L. Pros Quizizz makes it easy to create and administer quizzes to my students. I can see what they are having trouble with and give them practice quizzes to use on their own time. They enjoy the ability to re-take quizzes and to use powerups and other fun things that make it more engaging than a regular test. They also like that it shows mastery, so even if they aren't a top five scorer, they can feel like a winner. Cons I can't leave the quizzes open as long now that they have a paid option, but I am glad they are making money so I can keep using the program. I also like the fact that it syncs with Google Classroom, which makes my life easier. The sound and the power ups are cute, useful and very engaging. Students and teachers like this app very much. Pros I really like the feature of quizizz. I use this as interactive platform whenever i start our classes to gain attention to my student. I also use this when i am giving online quizzes. I liked that quiz can be scheduled or it can be live. I discovered this app in one of the Math Contest we have joined in 2020. From then, i use this app and catch may students attention. Cons I have meant some challenge with the app, there are some students that cannot enter the game though they have the correct code. I dont know why but that's really my problem. Pros Quizizz is so easy to use!!! You can use questions that others have already created and it is super fast to create an awesome quiz. You can use this as a review game and the students can work at their own pace but it is competitive so they love it! Another great use of Quizizz is to use it as a formative assessment to see what students are still having trouble with. It can be used in class easily and assigned on Google Classroom for students to do on their own. It's also easy to use math terms such as exponents and fractions!! To me as a math teacher that makes my life SO MUCH EASIER!!! The reports are well set up - you can view all of your classes together or just one class. Quizizz offers users and students a learning experience whenever there is a multiple choice question quiz/test. The results come out fast and every question is listed. We are able to see the class average and all that. From someone who has created a Quizizz for others, it is quite fun since we can also input memes! Great software. Pros One of my favorite features of Quizizz has to be the end results it provides to students and other users. Even when we answer a question wrong, we get to learn from our mistakes after the scores has released. Unlike over programs, this feature is incredibly important to me as it guided me in school. Cons Although Quizizz is simple and efficient to use, one of my least favorite features, which was hard to pick, has to be the slow transition from one question to another. I have been using this software for many years and now with the new changes I will be finding a new platform to use that does not require me to pay a subscription. I am tired of companies expecting teachers who notoriously make lesser incomes and are expected to pay for the resources to teach with. Cons Scores no longer upload to google classroom. Whoever made the activity didn't go back and double check the answers to see if they are correct or not. Also, the recent addition of "Power-ups" makes them have more chances to learn and grow in the content. As a teacher, I am able to easily create questions, use bold and font coloring features that similar platforms do NOT have, and the Memes at the end of each question add a dose of laughter and joy to it all! I use it to activate students' prior knowledge, review a concept and to help guage the class on their content knowledge. Pros Quizizz is a highly interactive way to get students motivated to learn. It allows for students to experience learning in a game format, giving them points and motivating them to try their best. Specifically, I like the way I can customize my game to fit the needs of my students. I can also control the pacing of the game. Cons The only drawback is when trying to format the student explanations given. it can be tricky to do. Also, when using with older students, when I end the game it still is on the screen.
