### "Way Faster Now! Worth a 2nd try! "

February 10, 2026

5.0

Adalo is a fun drag and drop, no-code builder. It's literally a blank canvas that allows you to make any type of app. I've seen everything from a simple as meal prep and timer apps all the way to apps for event with 3-D guided maps. It's really up to you and the limits of your creativity because anything is possible.

Pros

Over the last year or so, improvements to the platform have made it much faster and snappy. I love the speed at which I can build something and get a working version on web, iphone, and android. It's very user friendly and excellent for technical users looking to build in my opinion.

Cons

No major cons in my experience. But I am waiting for new AI features as teased on their forums. These seem essential with the fast pace, ever changing industry.

### "The easiest and fastest way to get app store published"

February 10, 2026

5.0

Adalo used to be pretty average on stability and speed. The new team have changed that with Adalo 3.0, doing significant work on the backend infrastructure. Ever since November 2025, my apps have been significantly faster and more reliable.

Pros

Adalo is the fastest and simplest way to go from idea to app store publishing. Period. I've tried all the tools. Nothing allows you to visually lay out your entire app by screens. Nothing else gives you one builder that publishes as a PWA (progressive web app), and a \*truly\* native app for Andoid and iOS (not a wrapper that doesn't scale with increased MAU). Nothing else makes publishing \*and\* updating the app this easy. I was lucky enough to also use Adalo's AI builder in beta and it is amazing. Truly one prompt to 90% of the app built. You can prompt to edit from there or use their full design tools. You can even preview the app right on your phone right after the first prompt. Pricing wise, nothing else comes close. $36/mo gets you the builder with unlimited usage (every other platform has usage charges). You can also publish to the app stores (other builders make you upgrade off the base tier to publish easily). You also get a production-ready database, and soon I hear you'll be able to use a Google Sheet as the database instead, meaning things will get even easier.

Cons

Compared to something like Claude Code, you don't have the ability to create animations or fancy graphics quite to the same extend. That is because Adalo's components are all created to be app store compliant, which means no app store rejection or messing around with XCode with Claude. Still, Adalo makes pretty apps, just not with the unlimited animation capability of Claude.

### "Super bad. Database deletes properties and it crushes all the time"

May 27, 2025

2.0

Very bad. You can clearly see that they are begginers at what they do, and they are not very custoemr centric as they don't really care that your business stop to operate because of their internal problems.

Pros

Its super easy to build, so you can go super fast. Also, the components gallery ready-to-go is super usefull

Cons

1\. Their database. Literally 2 times I have lost properties from my collection. 2 weeks ago, around 70% of my database suddenly dissapeared, making my apps completly useless. I'm glad that I decided to use an external collection such as Airtable for my core, but for navegation through the app I had to do it in the Adalo own database, which doesnt store data properly. Its super weird, as the app acts as if the properties where there, however when I access it it says that they dont exist. The first time it happened (october 2024), they even admited it by replying this: "We had a noisy tenant that created an exponentially increasing number of server calls against a huge database that depleted the server of memory. We isolated the incident and will have a permanent fix implemented to ensure this doesn’t reoccur." 2. Customer service: I pay the most expensive plan, which include special service, and they only give you generic un-usable solutions and ask you to wait patienly. 3. Their roadmap priorization. I've been using it for a year now, and I see how they keep launching features, while the basics dont work. 4. Some times it just says to my customer "Internal server error". I have 300 daily users and I receive around 5-10 complains a day (and I dont know how many others I just dont recieve).

### "Adalo"

May 16, 2022

4.0

Overall I was pleased with how Adalo helped me get started with my project, as it grew I exported the app data to Bubble, where I currently run my project. I still frequently use Adalo to test out new ideas, because it is simply the easiest to use custom app builder.

Pros

Adalo is by far the easiest app builder I have used so far. You don't have to learn to code and you don't need to know a lot of web design to get started. They have a lot of pre-built components in their library that gets you up and running in no time. It helped me build a prototype for my business idea in less than 48 hours. Anyone can signup and start creating within minutes of watching a few YouTube tutorial videos

Cons

Adalo is ideal when testing! However, as you grow, your app really slows down and frustrates both you and your users. It struggles to fetch list data, images, and a lot of information a user might request when using the app. For my use case, there were a lot of lists and searches done by users, and their experience got worse with each new user.

### "Very useful no-code platform"

January 10, 2022

4.0

Before trying out adalo, I had spoken to a number of developers about building our mobile apps. And the quotes we were getting were absolutely ridiculous. With adalo,we didn't even have to pay to begin the building process. This gave us a lot of freedom to iterate our designs and app structure while working on it ourselves. It's been really great.

Pros

Drag and drop functionality is particularly very useful and easy to apply to the building and design process. Allows you to experiment quite easily, giving you a lot of flexibility to try out variations of layouts and structure of your app until it feels just right.

Cons

Not being able to select any one of the several pages and go there directly is not understandable for me. Having to start from the launch screen and thennavigate until you get to your designed page every time is very inefficient.

### "Great platform for simple applications, though feature set is limited"

August 27, 2020

4.0

Shockingly easy to use. Rumor has it their customer service is very good--I only interacted with them a bit, but it was a positive experience.

Pros

Adalo goes about app design in a way that makes it basically impossible to make an app that looks bad. I had to go with another platform because it didn't have enough features/customization to support my project, but I'm glad that I played with Adalo because I was took all the component design elements with me.

Cons

Adalo's feature set is very limited compared to other no-code tools. They did just launch a marketplace, so that will change with time, but it couldn't support our project so we had to move to another platform (AppGyver).

Alternatives considered

[Appery.io](https://www.capterra.com/p/140921/Appery-io/)

Reason for choosing Adalo

I'm not a developer, and you can't build within Appery if you don't code. It might be low-code, but it's not no-code.

Switched from

[ManyChat](https://www.capterra.com/p/206636/ManyChat/)

ManyChat was sophisticated enough to do what I needed as a chatbot, but all my users were struggling to access it within Facebook Messenger easily. (The Messenger embed widget on the website would display weirdly...the user wouldn't realize it was within Messenger and would try to search for it in the app store...stuff like that.) So we had to look for an app builder instead.

### "Still a work in progress though very promising for no-code/low-code prototyping"

August 14, 2021

4.0

I found getting started with Adalo fun and exciting. It was really cool to quickly build a prototype and see it in action. However, I found getting into the details of making the product work how it needed to to have the UX I wanted to be challenging and frustrating. By the time I was done, I found myself wanting to scrap the Adalo piece and just build the entire thing on my own. This isn't a judgment of Adalo, necessarily... but rather no-code tools in general. It has long been the trade off of platforms like these that it supports limited use cases, limited UX, etc. in exchange for getting something up and running quickly, especially for someone who can't code. If your use case falls into one of those that's well supported by Adalo you may be in luck! There are a number of apps in the app store that are written exclusively in Adalo so that's proof that it's worth something, especially if you're a non-technical founder that needs to prove value with users before you raise seed funding or before you find your technical co-founder.

Pros

Unlike Bubble and other no-code/low-code tools, I find Adalo's approach to be much easier for a user to get started. Hooking up screens and workflow is easy, especially when starting from a template. They make it really easy to clone a project as well. The free tier is great for a prototype and though it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Bubble has, it has enough to get started. One of the biggest pros of Adalo is that they are mobile-first. You can use the software for a desktop/web-based application, too, as everything is responsive. Bubble still defaults to desktop layouts which feels outdated. Adalo team is adding features rapidly, too. You get the sense that they're adding a lot of value and really engaging with users regularly.

Cons

I've set up and launched one real project using Adalo. I ended up hooking up my own backend APIs and database because I couldn't do what I wanted inside Adalo. The built-in user DB in Adalo didn't have a unique ID I could reference to pass API calls to an SMS backend. For my application I needed to send SMS/text messages to users and that's not a feature that any of these no-code platforms have. So I found a SMS vendor with APIs but then I couldn't pass through the user ID... in general, you have to rely on something like email address to identify a user, which is fragile because users sometimes need to change their email address. There were other "clunky" bits related to hooking up external APIs (like every time I went in to change something, I had to start over from scratch, rather than just updating a single API REST definition). It was about 9 months ago that I worked actively with the product, and hopefully some of these things have been fixed/improved by now.

### "One of my favorite nocode solutions"

October 28, 2021

5.0

I am an educator at an engineering school and I have already tested and continue testing numerous no code and low code tools, with the objective of selecting some for use in the classroom, for the subjects of entrepreneurship and information systems. In the latter case, even for engineering and computer science students, who must learn to code, the use of tools in code allows them to develop complete systems projects providing understanding of systems architecture, design and analysis.

Pros

Adalo manages to unite two important things: being simple without being simplistic. The tool stands out especially for the way the so-called components are manipulated, to go assembling applications/systems as if they were Lego.

Cons

It's a bit unfair to talk bad about Adalo, because it's my second favorite nocode solution at the moment, but my favorite solution has something that Adalo doesn't: a clear distinction of frontend, backend and data: that is, providing in code but keeping the system architecture.

### "Adalo, the dream wreckers"

February 20, 2023

1.0

Adalo as a company has one of the worst customer service experiences and probably one of the most customer unfriendly organization, you could ever have. In the world were organizations do everything to be customer first, these guys are focused on customer last. They have a community who doesn't necessarily respond to questions. Their customer service team takes days to revert back and even then isn't helpful at all. After days of non-replying you would get a response, please look for it in adalo academy, hire an adalo expert etc and say this isn't in their purview to respond, but sadly they don't respond to questions which are in their purview too. They have plugins which are very expensive, for even very basic functionalities. All they want to do is for you spend and spend some more, Creating basic functionality like a forgot password functionality or adding multiple images is tedious. If you have any doubts go to their youtube channel and see for yourself, how you have to go through creating each of the functionality and decide for yourself. Their plans are expensive, but value delivered is extremely poor. You have ideas that you want to see it come through, these guys make it so difficult, best to avoid them.

Pros

This product can best be used to create a low-grade MVP.

Cons

Long tedious process to create basic functionalities like forgot password, add multiple images, very average UI, buggy, basic. Not worth the amount they charge, you are better off investing your time and effort someplace else.

### "Easy to build, slow to use"

February 7, 2025

2.0

Pros

It's quite fast and easy to build an app. It has an intuitive editor, and the build process is well automated.

Cons

The performance (especially on native Android) is unacceptable! Why is a Progressive Web App on the same device about 10 times faster than the native android app? I've been trying for several months now to get support on this issue and they keep asking me the same questions. I've never had such a bad support experience!

Wolfgang--thanks for your review. We've been elbows-deep upgrading the native app performance through a host of backend and front end upgrades, including upgrading React Native, indexing databases (system and user), changing list components to reduce screen load times and removing bloat from the code. If you've been on our forums, you would see my announcements for Adalo 3.0 - the delivery of Adalo at 3x the speed. We've got the biggest of these performance roll-outs scheduled for February and March, but if you reach out to me at james.crennan@adalo.com (or better--book a call at www.calendly.com/james\_crennan) then I would be happy to get on with our staff and do the Maker-side things required to make your app fly. Given you've gone to the effort to post this review, I'd love for you to hop on a call so we can get you what you came to Adalo for! James CEO Adalo

We use this to run a weekly meeting and it’s far better than the hodgepodge of tools we were using before.

Pros

This app makes it possible for people without great technical skills to build apps that work specifically for their organizations needs.

Cons

Builder tools like this will introduce you to the complexity of making tools even if you don’t know code. There is only so much shepherding you can do while remaining open.

### "A fantastic programing softvare for beginners"

August 11, 2022

5.0

This software can be useful for beginner developers, because there is no need for programming knowledge, only our imagination and time are enough to develop an application. And what's more, we don't even have to install it on our computer, because the entire program is available online! I can only recommend!

Pros

It is very beneficial that this software does not require any programming knowledge, yet brilliant applications can be developed with it. This helps novice app developers and other users to use it in a simple yet hassle-free way. No bugs or bad lines of code because there are no bugs!

Cons

The disadvantage of this software is that many functions are only available for a fee, which makes it difficult for those who do not want to invest money in their small application projects.

Various negative experiences during use. I don't recommend it to almost anyone. I think you should only use it to make mockups and validate your idea. It is not mature enough. The impression is that the development team forgets what is most important and develops to play.

Pros

I can't think of anything else but a cute look.

Cons

Bugs, failures to search the database, slowness, several problems of users who could not access, there is no treatment with and without www, practically nonexistent support, when exporting the database the file links do not go together, impossibility to mark a single form field as mandatory ... extremely bad experience.

### "I really wanted to like Adalo"

September 20, 2022

3.0

Pros

I must say that Adalo is one of the first true no-code app development companies I've ever considered. I've used Adalo for several months and found that this company really wanted to pioneer no-code development. They have large library of drag-and-drop components, allows you to easily link pages, and even integrates with other API.

Cons

Far too complicated to use. I consider myself someone that can easily navigate many sites and software. However, it's just not a method of hierarchy that I'm used to. They also charge far too much monthly, caps "monthly app actions", charge a premium for functions many advanced apps rely on (even before acquiring any users). There should be a sandbox option to build your app entirely then charging once the app has been published on Google Play or the App Store.
