Factory is the whole-shop system for small custom fab shops. Quote, schedule, run the floor, and get paid, in one place. It's for shops that have outgrown the whiteboard and spreadsheets but would never buy an ERP. Under 50 on the floor, high-mix, make-to-order: sheet metal, structural steel, machine shops, architectural metal, trailers, signage. Quote off a live material and labor library, then re-quote the day steel moves. Plan the week on a drag-and-drop board. Every job carries its own status, so nobody has to ask you where it's at. Your guys log time from the floor. Invoice in full, in part, or by progress, take payment online, and see what you actually made on the job against what you quoted. The support/onboarding team have been amazing in helping the team organise and roll out Factory. Pros We love the single source of information along with the ability to quickly create a job, track a job and then invoice all within the same system. It has been a huge time saver for us. Cons The only downside with factory is the mobile tracking hours. It can be a little clunky and doesn't always work when trying to clock on and off a job. The system is easy to use, allows for simple custom template creation, and makes it easy to move and organise information as needed. Pros Easy to use with a simple and straightforward navigation system. The layout is intuitive, making it easy to find what you need without spending time learning the software. No manual or extensive training is required to get started, and most features are self-explanatory. Overall, it provides a smooth user experience and helps improve efficiency from day one. Cons To be honest, I can't think of any improvements. Everything I need is available within Factory, and I can also track jobs from my phone. We have sampled several programs prior but none assimilated into our day to day like Factory has. If there were any areas of the software that we felt could be altered in a way to have greater benefits to our business the team at Factory were all ears and very responsive to our ideas which has made the integration process very rewarding. Cons Any areas about this software that we felt were a con have been brought to the attention of Factory and have since been seen to. Factory allows us to be quicker and efficient on the overall ordering/invoicing process. Pros This is a very intuitive piece of software! It's fast, very effective and stream lined. The fact it creates the invoice as order is placed saves us a lot of time and allowed our business to grow more effectively. Cons Unfortunately due to the nature of our business to be bespoke and custom oriented, sometimes orders still have to be double handed. But This forever evolving app seems to be catching up with our needs pretty quickly. We were processing orders through MYOB alone, which is really an accountant software. Although we still use MYOB for accounting, Factory proved to be a self sufficient tool that we use on a daily basis.
