### "PayPal is the glue between websites and payments"

May 31, 2026

PayPal has always been a large part of my online payment mechanism. It started when using Ebay and on Shopify.

Pros

PayPal makes receiving and sending money very easy and efficient. The ability to plug into an e-commerce site and start collecting payments is simple.

Cons

Sometimes verification is not efficient. Also support could be better when it comes to technical help.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing PayPal

Ease of use and also the fees were much cheaper.

### "Reliable Payment System!"

April 27, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with PayPal has been positive. It’s a reliable and widely accepted way to send and receive payments, and it makes transactions quick and convenient. While fees and occasional account holds can be frustrating, it’s still a dependable tool for managing online payments.

Pros

What I like most about PayPal is how easy it is to send and receive payments quickly. It’s widely accepted, secure, and makes online transactions simple without needing to share banking details. It’s also convenient for tracking payments and managing transactions in one place.

Cons

The main downsides of PayPal are the fees, especially for business transactions, and occasional holds on funds that can slow down cash flow. Customer support can also be slow or difficult to reach when issues come up.

Alternatives considered

[Square Payments](https://www.capterra.com/p/170278/Square-Payments-Processing/)[Stripe](https://www.capterra.com/p/123889/Stripe/)[Venmo](https://www.capterra.com/p/222572/Venmo-/)

Reason for choosing PayPal

I chose PayPal because it’s widely trusted, easy to set up, and accepted almost everywhere. It also offers a simple all-in-one system for sending, receiving, and invoicing payments without needing much technical setup compared to alternatives like Stripe or Square.

### "Useful payment option, but frustrating merchant restrictions"

May 20, 2026

3.0

PayPal is useful as a customer payment option, but the business-side experience was mixed. I understand the need for fraud prevention, but the way funds were held and limits were applied felt excessive given that we were already an established ecommerce business. It created unnecessary cash flow problems and added stress to operations. I still see value in offering PayPal because customers recognize and trust it, but I am not a fan of how difficult and restrictive it can be for merchants.

Pros

PayPal is valuable because it gives customers another trusted payment option at checkout. Some buyers prefer PayPal over entering a credit card directly, so having it available can help reduce friction and potentially improve conversions. Once active, it was useful as an additional payment method for our ecommerce store.

Cons

The onboarding and account limitations were frustrating. Even though our business was already established and generating consistent revenue, PayPal held funds for a long time and imposed odd limits while we had to prove we were legitimate. That tied up thousands of dollars in working capital, which is a real problem for a small business trying to manage inventory, shipping, and operating expenses.

### "Paypal pros and cons"

May 1, 2026

4.0

My overall experience with PayPal has been positive due to its ease of use, speed, and wide customer acceptance, which make getting paid simple and efficient. However, higher fees, occasional account holds, and some integration cleanup with QuickBooks Online can be drawbacks.

Pros

The platform makes it very straightforward to send and receive payments without needing detailed banking information, just an email address. That simplicity lowers friction for both businesses and customers, especially for invoicing or quick payments.

Cons

The user interface can be frustrating at times. Features and layouts change, and finding specific reports or transaction details is not always intuitive.

Alternatives considered

[WooCommerce](https://www.capterra.com/p/225601/WooCommerce/)

Reason for choosing PayPal

It allows me to start accepting payments immediately without complex configuration, and most customers are already familiar with it, which reduces hesitation and speeds up payment.

### "Reliable and Convenient for Online Payments"

May 11, 2026

5.0

Overall, PayPal has been a dependable and widely accepted payment solution for both personal and business use. It simplifies sending and receiving money across different countries and platforms while reducing friction in online transactions. The ease of setup, broad integration support, and trusted reputation make it a practical option for freelancers, e-commerce businesses, and everyday users. While fees and occasional account review delays are drawbacks, the convenience and accessibility generally outweigh those issues for regular online payment needs.

Pros

PayPal makes online payments fast and convenient, especially for international transactions and freelance payments. The platform is easy to use, integrates well with many websites and e-commerce platforms, and offers strong buyer protection that increases trust during transactions. I also like how quickly invoices and payment requests can be created, which helps streamline small business operations. The mobile app is reliable and makes it easy to monitor transactions on the go.

Cons

Transaction and currency conversion fees can become expensive, especially for international payments or high transaction volumes. Account limitations or security reviews can sometimes happen unexpectedly, and resolving those issues through customer support may take longer than expected. The interface is generally simple, but some advanced settings and dispute processes could be more transparent and easier to navigate.

Switched from

[Stripe](https://www.capterra.com/p/123889/Stripe/)

We switched to PayPal because it was easier for customers to use, widely trusted, and simpler to integrate across different payment workflows. It also improved international payment support and gave us a more familiar checkout experience for clients.

### "Paypal is a must for small businesses "

June 12, 2026

4.0

I really enjoy using paypal. I love all the differeht options customers have to choose from to pay. Its helpful that you can have all your products, pricing, invoicing, billing and received payments. All in one as well as all customer information and it tracks sales automatically.

Pros

The simplicity of invoicing and customer tracking for a small business. The variety of payment options they provide. Direct messaging for customers from the app itself. For any issues or feedback.

Cons

Can create listing for your products, but they don't offer their own store front. If you're nit real tech savy. It can be rather overwhelming trying to integrate paypal as a payment option, on your website.

Alternatives considered

[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing PayPal

Shopify all though offers a store front. It didn't offer many of the all around small business options my company was needing for tracking income and expenses.

### "Reliable, User-Friendly Payment Platform for Vendors and Clients"

June 24, 2026

5.0

PayPal is a reliable payment solution for businesses that need a convenient way to send payments, receive money, track transactions, and maintain organized financial records. Its ease of use, helpful tracking features, and strong customer service make it a solid option for everyday business transactions.

Pros

PayPal is an easy and dependable way to pay vendors and collect payments from clients or purchasers. The transaction history is clear, detailed, and easy to export, which makes recordkeeping and financial reconciliation much simpler. I also find the shipping-tracking feature very helpful when purchases are involved. PayPal’s customer service has been consistently wonderful and responsive when assistance is needed

Cons

Transaction fees can add up, especially for businesses processing frequent payments or larger-dollar transactions. It would also be helpful to have more flexibility in customizing payment reports directly within the platform.

Alternatives considered

### "PayPal helped increase our sales by 15%"

June 10, 2026

4.0

I ended up creating a business account and integrate it with my WooCommerce because potential customers were asking if we had that payment method, because they trust it. So our sales increased by around a 15% thanks to integrating PayPal. Our commissions also increased, but I think it's worth it. It's super easy to manage your business account and send transfers, make payments etc.

Pros

I personally like that you can easily create a business account in different currencies to create invoices, and it's super easy to integrate with WooCommerce or any other e-commerce platform. Also, their customer support is fast and proactive. They helped me a lot with some bugs and issues we had in December (high-traffic period). People trust PayPal, and it was free to set up (good value for money).

Cons

The only part I didn't enjoy that much was their platform commission. It's quite high compared to other payment gateways, such as Redsys or Stripe

### "A convenient and widely trusted platform for digital payments"

May 20, 2026

3.0

Overall, PayPal provides a dependable and practical solution for sending and receiving payments. It is easy to use, widely trusted, and integrates well into everyday financial activities. While there are cost considerations and occasional usability challenges, it remains a convenient option for digital payments.

Pros

PayPal is quick to set up and widely accepted, which makes it very convenient for both personal and business transactions. Payments are processed efficiently, and the platform offers useful features such as invoicing, transaction tracking, and buyer/seller protection. It is particularly helpful for managing international payments without needing complex banking processes.

Cons

Transaction fees can be relatively high, especially for frequent or international usage. In some cases, account limitations or verification checks can interrupt transactions and require additional steps to resolve. The interface can also feel slightly fragmented across different features.

### "PayPal pal"

April 24, 2026

I can say it is overall pretty great. It offers better interest rates than brick and mortar banks so I try to keep cash in it.

Pros

I like that the transactions are encrypted, and sensitive banking details are not shared with merchants.

Cons

### "PayPal: The Web’s Most Reliable Safety Net"

February 3, 2026

5.0

There’s an undeniable psychological comfort in knowing that if a random online store scams you, you can simply "open a case." For most, this makes PayPal the "default" for any site they don't 100% trust.

Pros

The most loved feature is that you never have to share your credit card or bank details with a merchant. When you check out, you only log into PayPal. This is a massive relief when shopping on smaller or less familiar websites where you might otherwise be hesitant to enter your card info.

Cons

This is arguably the biggest complaint. PayPal’s automated security systems are notoriously aggressive. If they detect a "spike" in your sales or a "suspicious" login, they can freeze your balance for 21 to 180 days. For small businesses or freelancers, this can be devastating for cash flow.

Switched from

[Venmo](https://www.capterra.com/p/222572/Venmo-/)

These apps are great for splitting a pizza, but they are often restricted to one country (e.g., Venmo is US-only). They also lack robust Buyer Protection; if you pay a stranger on Venmo and they block you, your money is usually gone.

Overall, my experience with PayPal has been positive. It’s a reliable and convenient way to handle online payments, with a user-friendly interface and strong sense of security. ### "Trusted, secure, and globally accepted—PayPal makes online payments simple"

April 2, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with PayPal has been positive. It’s a reliable platform for both personal and business transactions, offering peace of mind with its security and global acceptance. While fees and occasional support delays are drawbacks, the convenience and trustworthiness outweigh the negatives. For small businesses and individuals, PayPal remains one of the most dependable online payment solutions.

Pros

\- PayPal is a free platform that allows users to send and receive money across the globe - Easy integration with e-commerce platforms - Secure and trusted brand with decades of credibility - Mobile app is convenient and user-friendly

Cons

\- Transaction fees are relatively higher for merchants - Customer support can be slow to resolve complex issues - Account holds and verification processes can disrupt business cash flow - Limited customization for advanced business needs - Refunds are reliably processed but sometimes can take way longer than expected depending on bank and cards - Occasional bugs cause delays when generating invoices, which can be frustrating.

### "Simple to use, but the fees are not great"

April 21, 2026

4.0

My overall experience with PayPal has been mostly positive. I use it because it is simple, clear, and convenient for veryday online payments. The app is easy to understand, and managing payments or checking transaction history is not difficult. I do not use invoicing very often, but it is nice that the option is there. Sometimes there are small issues or delays, but usually nothing serious. In general, PayPal is useful and reliable, but the fees make it a bit less worth it in some cases.

Pros

What I like most about PayPal is how easy it is to use. It makes online payments quick, and I like that I do not have to enter my card details every time. It also feels safe, and it is accepted on many websites.

Cons

What I like least about PayPal is the fees, especially for international payments or currency conversion. I think customer support could be better, because solving problems can take too long sometimes.

### "A Trusted Platform for Online Transactions"

June 1, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with PayPal has been positive. It's easy to use, convenient for sending and receiving money, and accepted by many online stores and services. While I've had a few minor frustrations with fees and occasional delays, it's generally been a reliable payment platform that I trust for online transactions.

Pros

What I liked most about PayPal was its convenience and ease of use. Sending and receiving payments is straightforward, transactions are processed quickly, and it is widely accepted by many online merchants. The platform also provides useful security features and purchase protection, which helps build confidence when making online payments.

Cons

Sometimes the fees feel a bit high, especially for certain transactions. I've also had moments where payments took longer than expected or where it wasn't immediately clear why there was a hold or limitation on an account. It can be frustrating when that happens.

### "Secure, Easy, but Improvable"

June 15, 2026

5.0

The cons aren't enough to keep me from using PayPal and the overall experience accomplished what I needed.

Pros

What I like most about PayPal is how it reduces friction in everyday payments. Once my account is set up, I don’t have to repeatedly pull out my card or retype long billing details. That small convenience adds up, especially when I’m shopping online frequently or checking out on different sites. It makes the whole process feel more streamlined and less interrupted. I also really value the security side of it. I like that I’m not directly sharing my card or bank information with every merchant. Instead, PayPal acts as an intermediary, which makes me feel more comfortable trying new stores or services. On top of that, the dispute resolution and buyer protection features give me some reassurance that if something goes wrong—like an item never arrives or doesn’t match the description—there’s at least a process for resolving it. Another thing I appreciate is how widely accepted it is. In many cases, I don’t even have to think about whether it will be available—it usually is. That consistency makes it feel like a dependable “backup” payment method, especially when I don’t want to enter card details on unfamiliar sites or when another payment method fails. There are also practical perks, like being able to send money to friends or handle small reimbursements without needing cash or bank transfers. It’s not always the cheapest option, especially with certain fees, but for convenience and familiarity, it tends to win out in my day-to-day use. Overall, I’d describe it as a tool I rely on more for ease and peace of mind than anything else—it removes small annoyances from online transactions and makes payments feel more predictable.

Cons

What I liked least about PayPal is how inconsistent the experience can feel when something goes wrong. The biggest issue for me is account holds or sudden limitations. Even when I’m just making normal transactions, it can be frustrating if a payment gets flagged and my funds are temporarily frozen while verification is requested. It can interrupt plans, especially if I’m expecting quick access to money. I also don’t love the fee structure. While basic personal use is often fine, fees can add up for certain types of transactions, especially business payments or currency conversions. It sometimes feels less transparent than I’d like when I’m trying to understand exactly what I’m being charged. Customer support is another weak point in my experience. When I’ve needed help, I’ve sometimes found it difficult to reach a quick, clear resolution. The process can feel a bit automated or slow, especially compared to the immediacy of the payment system itself. Finally, while it’s widely accepted, there are still occasional websites or services that don’t support it, which is a reminder that it isn’t truly universal. Overall, I still use it for convenience, but those reliability and support issues are what stand out most negatively.

### "Paypal review "

March 20, 2026

5.0

PayPal is widely considered a "must-have" for online shoppers and small businesses looking for an easy, trusted way to handle payments, but it is less competitive for users who prioritize low transaction fees and fast, human-centered customer support.

Pros

Security and Privacy: Users appreciate not having to share their bank or card details directly with merchants. The Purchase Protection program adds confidence, ensuring money can be recovered if a purchase goes wrong. Ease of Use: The interface is frequently described as user-friendly and simple, making it easy to send and receive money with only an email or phone number. Convenient Shopping and Payments: It is widely accepted by millions of merchants worldwide. The "one-click" checkout makes online shopping fast. Flexibility (Pay Later options): Users enjoy the "Pay in 4" option, which allows them to split purchases into four installments. Centralized Wallet: Many like having different payment methods, such as bank accounts and credit cards, managed under a single, centralized account. Fast Transfers: Transactions between PayPal accounts are usually instant, and it is a reliable tool for freelancers and small businesses.

Cons

High Fees: Transaction fees, particularly for international payments and currency conversion, are considered high compared to competitors. Unexpected Account Holds: PayPal’s automated security systems can freeze funds or place temporary holds on accounts, which can disrupt cash flow for small businesses. Customer Service Issues: Users sometimes experience slow resolution times for complex issues or disputes. Limited Customization: Business tools, specifically in-app invoice customization and reporting, are described as dated or limited. Risks and Frauds: High exposure to fraud and phishing attempts can lead to security concerns.

### "PayPal user"

March 5, 2026

5.0

So far, I am very happy with the product, and I intend to continue to using PayPal as long as I am alive.

Pros

Using Pay pal is the best way to protect one money. No fee, no surcharge for using Paypal. Whether purchasing online or send money to someone, Paypal can ensure your money reaches intended recipient. Instant notification from PayPal to let me know where my dollars went or receive by whom. On top of that, every month, I get monthly statements from PayPal for book keeping purposes, which is the best way to manage, auditing my money, and to avoid overspending over charging or over drafting by vendors. PayPal customer support is top of the lines, and they are very helpful, knowledgeable people to help resolve any issues I may have. Fraudsters and scammers are everywhere where, one can easily become victim for a lifetime before he even realizes it. That is why I am using Paypal.

Cons

PayPal is a well rounded developed, so far , I don’t have any issues. But if I do, most time I found out after the hard way before I didn’t read throughly and used PayPal correctly as I should.

### "Reputable for payments however, enhancements should be made."

June 7, 2026

5.0

For a small to mid-size company and international payments, PayPal is very good. It's reliable for the majority of jobs, however the deal charges and also infrequent customer support problems are restrictive its prospective. It is a practical tool for companies in the Facilities Services industry, albeit with some minor challenges. Overall, it's a good choice for payment and invoicing, just make sure you budget for the fees.

Pros

PayPal has been a great help with the payment process from overseas clients, particularly in handling smaller bills for quick turn around. I find it easy to set up vendor and client accounts and it's seamless with our expense tracking system, so I'm able to keep a good eye on outbound payments. I am saving time monthly when I review my expenses from the reporting tools. It is also great for one-off reimbursements of staff for items related to their work.

Cons

These transaction fees can accumulate, particularly for smaller or more frequent transactions. Payment is sometimes withheld without valid reasons, causing delays in the invoicing. The customer support response times are not consistent and the customer may not be able to get a response when needed. Another thing was that, a couple of times there were some unexpected login problems because of their security measures which caused a little disruption in working for a while.

### "Paypal; Protected Purchases, Peaceful Payment."

January 21, 2026

5.0

Overall I have had a great experience with Paypal. I haven't needed to utilise any invoicing or expense management components yet; however I may look into this further if I end up selling for of my art work. The one thing I would love to add is, it's been great to see Paypal adapt and change over the years. I only recently realised they now offer a fundraiser option! And they provide their own pay in four repayment plans; which I am far more likely to utilise than any of the other pay in 4 plans that are on offer out there as it's already on a platform I love and am familiar with. What I would love to see from Paypal in the future is offering an e commerce website building platform, where you can create your own stores to sell items, similar to shopify or squarespace.

Pros

I use Paypal for almost all my online purchases. I originally started using Paypal for the security, knowing that my credit card details were safe. However I have now branched out and use it for my own hobby art sales too; still for the security but from a seller's perspective too! If I have ever had a problem that can't be resolved with a buyer or merchant; reaching out to Paypal for assistance is so straight forward and simple. I have never had a problem that couldn't be resolved by them. I think overall the fee I pay as a seller is pretty reasonable for the protection I get! And even better as a buyer I don't pay any fees for the security Paypal brings me.

Cons

The only flaw I can think of is that on mobile the website can be a bit challenging to navigate to my sharable personal profile page; I always forget where it is located. Personal Profile page, doesn't seem like the best name for it. I would prefer it to be called something more akin to what it is, I.e My Pay Me Page. It would also be great if the Personal profile page didn't have to show your full name. Just for my own personal preferences!

### "PayPal is great. "

March 24, 2026

5.0

I have been using PayPal for several years and have never had any issues. Transfers are quick and reliable, together with a clear log of every cent coming or going. I will gladly recommend its use to anyone, in fact I've done so several times.

Pros

PayPal is a convenient and easy way to do business both nationally and internationally. It has an easy to use interface and can be used to both pay and be paid by anybody anywhere in the world. It is also extremely safe, there is no reason to be concerned about your privacy or funds.

Cons

While the app is American, it is understandable that it would be easiest to get your money into an American bank account. This can however be a little more tricky for other countries as sometimes they only work with one of that country's banks, so unless you're already using that specific bank, you either need to open a new account or hope for some sort of bypass through that bank to your own.

I would probably recommend it to my Friends and colleagues because its beginner friendly, easy to set up and also no limit of the amount that you want to send. I use it for everyday purposes even in my current job, i was being paid through Paypal.

What I like most about Paypal is that is very easy to access with and its less hassle too. Its makes everything for me very convenient especially sending money.

Cons

Sometimes I encountered error when trying to send money and their customer support is not that quick to resolved issues.
