Its making it easier to recall frequently used links much more easily. Without having to take the time to search for links, you are freed up to go about your day and do any other number of tasks. Anything to drive more efficiency is always a benefit for me. Pros That you just have to type go/ and a simple description of what you are looking for. No more having to search in Google Drive or your notes for some long URL. As long as you title your golinks appropriately, it makes it so easy to bring up frequently used links so easily! Cons No downsides that I can think of. Maybe that you have to redo the plugin at times- that could be a problem with Chrome. And of course, to no fault of golinks, adoption of use is always an issue. The experience from selecting go/links as a vendor to onboarding has been flawless. Pros go/links makes it so easy to share and access resources within our company. In one click we can create a go/links and share it during our meetings. Exit the long complicated URLs, we can add the go/libks directly on slides and access to resources or tools has never been easier. Additionally, implementation is so easy between SSO and the Chrome extension. I takes minutes to get started. Cons Nothing I don't enjoy about go/links. December 22, 2022 5.0 In meetings, it's so helpful to ask attendees to visit go/xyz rather than (a) telling them a long URL (b) sending the link in the Zoom chat which disappears as soon as the meeting is over (c) sending the link somewhere else that gets attendees to actually leave the meeting to find it! Pros We all have so many bookmarked links and docs, sometimes it's difficult and time consuming to find the right one. GoLinks fixes that by making your most important links easy to access through a memorable, short and customised URL! Cons If a GoLink is already used, it'd be great if you could send a request via GoLinks to the owner to see if you can take over ownership e.g. if theirs is no longer in use. I use it on a daily basis with simple keywords. Cons I cannot really think of anything I dislike about using GoLinks as it makes navigating to my favorite websites in easy way and effortless. My company has a ton of documentation, and remembering GoLinks to important resources saves me a tremendous amount of time. I love it and really can't imagine working without it and recommend it to all of my colleagues. Cons I would like to be able to group my GoLinks within the GoLinks app to keep them better organized, and have GoLinks that are managed by my team rather than me as an individual. The applications of this are plentiful, but for my use in a professional setting, we use it to link to a Jira form that creates tickets for our team. This go/link is easy to socialize, especially if you use a catchy or intuitive name, and it avoids a problem we would otherwise face if not using GoLinks. If certain modifications are made to the Jira form, the form will then update to a new url. This can create a scenario in which A) the new link has to be resocialized to all of our stakeholders every time and in addition, B) any documentation that has the link embedded would have to be updated with the new link.GoLinks circumvents all of this as it is the one central location we can update. What I didn't realize is that problem B can be addressed as well because a GoLink can be hyperlinked on a page as well by linking http://go/\[link\]. That way, once the GoLink is updated, all of the pages where the GoLink is linked are essentially updated along with it. So you no longer have to manually update every page. Loving the functionality of this product. Cons Haven't found anything that I particularly disliked with the software yet. Review Source SS Supriyo S. Saves me a lot of time so I could focus on more important things. Pros GoLinks saves a lot of time by not having to search for documents within Google Drive. Cons You just have to be careful when linking things within a document to choose whether or not to link to the golink or to the underlying URL. This has an impact when documents migrate. Pros It is nice to use links like go/datascience-training instead of trying to remember \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] It is easy to create a go link: just type 'go' into my browser, type the name I want to use and the URL. Then other people and I can immediately use the go link in my browser. Cons I can create go/foo or go/foo/, the latter let's a user use e.g. go/foo/subpageExplicitly adding the / seems unnecessary, I think the software should handle that, inserting a / as needed. I specifically like go/links for urls that are either very long or have lots of different URL params that I want to preset with certain values. Go links are also great if you want to change a certain url, everyone can still use the same go link but it just redirects to someplace else. Cons Sometimes I don't remember what a go/link is called, and I make my best guess. Go links is reasonably good at suggesting other links I might have meant, but I think it's suggestion algorithm could improve (sometimes it doesn't suggest what I'm looking for).
