Tableau has been very helpful for our operational and business development teams. We use this too on a daily basis.

Pros

Dashboard is visually appealing as well variable to cater to our companies as well as our employees kpis.

Cons

Mobile version can be better. Navigating on a mobile device is quirky and the flow is unforgiving.

### "User-friendly and easy-to-build dashboards and reports"

April 27, 2026

5.0

Pros

User-friendly and allows people with little-to-no IT experience build reporting dashboards that automatically update.

Cons

Ran into some issues setting up data connections. I wish the dashboards had more interactive functionality.

### "Tableau blew it"

March 23, 2025

Overall, the visuals were fantastic, but the data work needed a masters in data science to set up.

Pros

The visualization capabilities are top notch and pristine.

Cons

The data setup is cumbersome and really complex.

### "Best bi Tool On the Market"

May 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience is positive. I used it for reporting, dashboards, and KPI tracking across the business. It makes it easy to visualize data and identify trends that you cant easily see when working directly in a spreadsheet or static reports. I find it to be a powerful tool that helps turn data into a usable, decision making tool.

Pros

I use tableau primarily for executive dashboards and reporting. It does a great job of taking large amounts of data and turning it into something that is easier to understand and act on. I liked being able to drill into the data when questions came up instead of having to go back and request a new report. The visualizations capabilities are great and the level of drill down makes the data useful to work with.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve, especially if you’re building dashboards rather than just viewing them. Some of the more advanced functionality requires training to use effectively. Cost can also be a consideration, particularly when licenses start adding up across a larger organization.

### "Dynamic and Intuitive Tool for Data Analysis"

May 7, 2025

5.0

Overall, Tableau is an excellent tool for data analysis and dashboard creation. You can quickly connect to multiple data sources, blend datasets, and visualize key metrics easily.

Pros

Tableau has intuitive and flexible data visualization capabilities. You can explore data visually in real time, spot trends, outliers, and insights without the need for DAX or codes.

Cons

Performance can slow down when working with very large datasets or complex dashboards. Also version control is very tricky and complicated so working on multiple versions is not very user friendly.

### "Tableau for shared dashboards"

December 2, 2024

5.0

I've used Tableau for creating dashboards tailored to the unique needs of different teams within the company. Most data sources used by Tableau were SQL Server databases, local Excel files, and Box files. What people used to create locally, in some very elaborated Excel files, was transferred in Tableau, shaped into interactive dashboards showing the important KPIs, visualizations on trends, etc. This way, the same dashboard could be shared to more people, so that each can explore data as per provided filters.

Pros

Tableau it's a powerful tool for data analysis and data visualizations. It provides powerful drill downs and calculations. Also, it can load data from a wide range of data sources (local files, SQL databases, Azure, etc).

Cons

The learning curve is quite steep. Also, it is rather difficult to embed Tableau dashboards into web pages and provide interactive action from the web page level; the Tableau.js library and support is slightly limited.

### "Happy Overall!!"

June 4, 2025

4.0

Overall, I loved working on Tableau, and it was far easier to reflect percentages and explain historical and needed data to the team.

Pros

Easy and interactive projection of data. This helped me to project and explain data to my team not only in an interactive manner but also in a way that was easily understandable to them.

Cons

There is nothing negative about Tableau, precisely, but the setup can be a bit difficult at times, as it took me some time to get started.

Switched from

So while Excel is easy to use and I have been using it for quite a long time, the change was advised by a senior and helped me.

### "Powehouse of datavisualisation, but a big investment."

April 27, 2026

4.0

It's clear that Tableau is an industry standard for creating dashboards and visualising data. It can go deep into analysis and present results in a completely customisable way. However, for smaller projects and lighter uses, it's an expensive piece of software. There are other competitors which are low cost and would get you 75% of the way there (e.g. Google Data studio and Power BI form microsoft).

Pros

I think the dashboards are beautiful, and drilling down into different levels gives you a lot of freedom in analysing trends. Connecting to databases is easy and there are many options e.g. SQL/CSV/Text.

Cons

There is a large learning curve to use Tableau for data visualisation and analysis, so in my opinion, training is required. Given that the licences are expensive, this makes the cost of entry to use Tableau in a company quite high, especially for small companies.

### "Powerful Visual Analytics for Data‑Driven Teams"

March 18, 2026

4.0

Tableau makes it easy to turn complex data into clear, interactive visuals. Once you understand the basics, building dashboards and exploring insights feels smooth and efficient, though some advanced features take time to learn.

Pros

Strong, clear data visualisations that make insights easy to understand. Smooth drag‑and‑drop interface once you get used to it. Connects well to many data sources.

Cons

Steep learning curve for advanced features. Pricing can be high for smaller teams. Some workflows feel split between different Tableau products.

### "Tableau - Powerful but Complicated"

January 8, 2025

4.0

Overall I'm impressed with the power of Tableau to analyze massive data sets and present them in a visually appealing manner. I am non-technical, so I did have some trouble in live-connecting to a data source.

Pros

I like how powerful it is in creating dashboards that leverage very large datasets.

Cons

It can be a bit cumbersome for non-technical folks. In particular, I had a challenge connecting my data source (in a live sort of way) to my dashboard.

### "Powerful Knowlege at Your Fingertips"

February 10, 2025

5.0

I am an end user, not an administrator of Tableau, so I have the advantage of using reports designed by someone else. Our administrator is able to produce any report we request within a matter of minutes. My job is to present the resulting facts to Surgical Center Administration. Allowing them to see what's really happening at their facility is invaluable information that we were unable to present before using Tableau. I find this program easy to use and can show the results to clients in minutes.

Pros

Ease of use, power of knowledge. This program produces colorful, easy to understand reporting for clients. The range of report formats seems almost unlimited. Easy to filter fields, dates, and data for client review.

Cons

It's a huge, powerful product and can be a bit intimidating to use at first.

Pros

Tableau allows me to connect to the SQL in real-time, Excel, cloud data and create layered visualizations instantly. Custom geo-map, drill-down line chart creation became as natural as possible and it truly took my data storytelling to a new level.

Cons

Pros

I enjoyed how Tableau was able to turn raw data into clear charts and interactive dashboards, which tell trends at a glance. I could identify dips in sales and peaks in the season almost instantly with the intuitive drag and drop analytics.

Overall Tableau is a very good software for charts, tables, and dashboards. It was easy for me to import excel files to get started and to finish them quickly.

Pros

I really like how it's easy to use, most of it is drag-in-drop, which leads to making nice fast charts and tables.

Cons

There's a little bit of a learning curve to certain things. For example, it took me a while to understand calculated fields as I never noticed the small arrow on the side.
